Hello, I’m new to the scene, bought me my first Harley in August (see picture) and fulfilled an old youth dream with it. I said to myself: if not now, when then? Short to my person: I am 60 years young and since April I am a cheerful retired person. My career with two bikes: 1966 – 1968 I drove like many young people at the time Kreidler Florett, then 28 long years “only car driven, because unfortunately I had not made a motorcycle driver’s license (as an apprentice I could not I have to mention that at the time the movie “The Wild Angels” with Peter Fonda ran in the cinemas, practically the predecessor of “Easy Rider” When we had seen this movie, we were freaked out with our 50 Kubik bats and came and before like the wild angels, that was a crazy time. As a result of the movie I had the Harley virus in me. Then in 1996 the regulation came that you were allowed to drive 125er with car driver’s license (before 1980) I spontaneously got a Yamaha SR 125 It came as it had to come: three months later, when I was 46 years old, I sat in the driving school and made the motorcycle driver’s license. When I had passed that, I bought myself a Yamaha 600 Diversion, which I was throttling to 34 HP for two years, and then, when the two years were around, I changed to the 900er Diversion, which now has 12 years. When this year’s movie “Easy Rider” was on television, the Harley virus woke up in me again, and there I did it, see above: “If not now, when then?” I am so excited about the Harley ride that I now ask myself the question: why I did not do it much earlier…..
