Hello guys, since I drove 600km free motorway with winter tires yesterday, I noticed again like every year that my klöterkarre with the winter tires comes emotionally faster at top speed and also a tick more on the tacho. Since I drive in the summer 215/45/17 and in the winter the other extreme namely 185/65/15, I ask myself the question whether this phenomenon results from a lower rolling resistance or a tacho deviation (or is it only Einb ildung)?! According to my hopefully correct calculation, the difference in the diameter from summer to winter tyres is only 0.38cm. Is this enough for a speedometer deviation of approx. 5km/h at +/- 200km/h? Or is it simply due to lower rolling resistance (the consumption with winter tyres seems to be marginally below that with summer tyres)? Well, of course, no really important topic, but maybe someone knows well greeting from Mannheim (outside temperature approx. 10°C) DJD
