I have been on the road for a long time now a week in France – and I must say: the toll roads there I find good. the condition of the railways is very good and it was also a kind of whisper asphalt installed – no impact holes, no trace grooves, good signage. the speed limit of 130 kmh (at wet 110 kmh) is really relaxing and you can calculate quite well how long you need for a route. also the traffic volume is quite moderate due to the fees. I have not experienced one and also very rarely racer or left-lockers, which confuse the traffic flow. it is generally noticeable, that the French are more relaxed in road traffic – above teacher or dead-strawler are really the absolute exception. traffic beginners have a thick “A” on the rear window and have to (meanfully) accept a speed limitation. in cities, however, a not too timid driving mode is required, otherwise you come nic It’s a long way back to the motorway: even the rest areas are mostly made very nice and parking spaces are all open and not blocked as with us for maintenance reasons. the rest is of course a less dense network across the country and much less connections. for this there are a lot of work places in the form of toll stations in the ascents and departures – and their system works perfectly. the further part is the increased truck traffic on the route national and country roads – but At tempo 90, this is not really so noticeable. if, as in France, the kfz tax would fall away, I support the toll for cars also on German autobahns. ps: in the short free items in the border area of the country, by the way, the railway is just as bad as with us in general… how bad the free German autobahns are now, I noticed right behind the border: the 130 km from luxembourg to koblenz over the a48 were a tortur.
