Hej together, I noticed that Mercedes will present a 7-speed automatic at the IAA and will then primarily want to integrate it into the stronger models. From my point of view, this arms race makes relatively little sense when it comes to the number of gears. Should the engine developers rather build decent engines again, which conjure up a beautiful full torque curve from the cellar on paper. Then I can easily dispense with the x-th gear. What do you think about this? Why do you think the new automatic system makes sense?
