Hello friends, I have seen that there are so-called AGR sheets for the intake tract of GDI engines. Here is a description: The purpose of the exercise is to prevent the GDI from being cooked. Due to the sulfur content in our gasoline there are deposits in the intake tract. These are created by the exhaust gas that passes through the AGR there. At some point the deposits are so strong that there are problems and the engine has to be cleaned. In normal petrol engines the fuel/air mixture comes along in the intake tract. The contained gasoline dissolves the deposits again. At the GDI only air comes along there. The gasoline is injected directly into the combustion chamber. So the deposits remain. If you lock the AGR then no exhaust gas and thus no deposits come along. Says one knows if this does not bring with it any disadvantages. According to the seller even the consumption should be lowered!
