The only thing I found out is that all the chains are long: bike chain, chain saw and of course control chains. I thought of a speciality of the TSI engines. But if you look closely, you will notice that the engines that were known for their durability are no longer as durable as they are now. Perhaps the control chain opposite the timing belt is a selling argument, because it combines a long durability and maintenance freedom but is actually a new source of revenue. When I think of the T5 2.5 TDi DPF things like: engine oil dilution, twisted drive shafts etc. were simply sat out, state of the art Since I intend to buy a 1.4 TSI, I fear to remain at cost after the warranty has expired, which the manufacturer consciously constructed with it.
