I have been fully kasko-insurance my vehicle at HUK Coburg Versicherung for years. Of course, the punctual debiting of the contributions always worked without any problems. A few weeks ago I had a stone impact damage on the windshield. A repair was not possible, so that the disc had to be replaced. The replacement was made by my contract workshop, where I had bought my car again and since then all the maintenance and repairs had been carried out. From the repair costs I paid the excess of 150 EUR and transferred the remaining amount to the car dealership, which then turned to the HUK Coburg to pay this remaining amount. So far a normal process, so that I assumed that the case had been settled. A few weeks later I received a letter from the HUK Coburg, in which I was informed that the repair costs incurred in my workshop were the average costs for the repair. In my research, this company is not a neutral expert office, but a company which, on behalf of the HUK Coburg, makes these reductions arbitrarily on the basis of so-called computer databases and for this service from the HUK Coburg commissions on the basis of the In the event of a damage, I can have my vehicle repaired in a workshop of my choice. I myself have asked the HUK Coburg to transfer the reduced amount in the amount of approx. 200 EUR, which I had to transfer to my workshop in addition to the excess contribution. My workshop, by the way, has informed me that the shortening of the invoice is not justified and that it has not yet experienced such a procedure in any other insurance company. Of course, I will terminate the car insurance at HUK Coburg, because I do not want to see the difficulties that this insurance company will encounter in the event of an accident. I hope that I have made it sufficiently clear what difficulties current and future customers of this insurance company have to expect in the event of damage. Because the often found positive assessments of the HUK Coburg refer regularly only to the amount of insurance premiums, which are in fact often cheaper than with the competition.
