Hello everyone, I would like to buy my new Volvo in Sweden and then drive and import to Germany. However, the question arises as to how the import is possible. I see the problem of the transfer in that one does not find any insurance in Germany for the Swedish export license plate. Or has someone already found one? As an alternative I had read here that one registers the vehicle in Germany normally and pays the import taxes with the sent vehicle documents from the Swedish dealer and the purchase contract. Then one takes the German number plates and can take the car from Sweden to Germany. However, on the sides of the authority is that the vehicle has to be presented in Germany.
