Parking motorcycle hit – procedure?

Hello, I can’t use the nice weather today for cruising My parked, 10 year old Suzuki GSXF750 was hit last night. The causer probably called the police and I found a corresponding note from the police this morning indicating the address/signs of the causer of the accident on the handlebar. I am the first time in the situation of the accident and have now informed me for a while about the further procedure. T I am still insecure in some respects and would like to hear your opinions about this. 1. To the procedure in general Should I report to the opposing insurance company, or should I rather use a lawyer for the handling of claims with the opposing liability insurance company? Or possibly a workshop? I have read, if you do not bear any co-indebtedness, the opposing liability assumes the costs herefor. 2. Determination of the damage fees – Bagatellschäden 2a) Should I have a K fz-Sachverständigen order to draw up an expert report? I read that the costs are only covered if it is not a minor damage (damage height <750 EUR). In my case, the damage tends to be more minor. After all, the machine has been "only" thrown over. On the other hand, I can already recognize the following damage at first glance: Windshield is torn, turn signals are broken, scratches and cracks on the cover are broken. ng, clutch lever strongly bent and scratched. However, have read in an older article with similar accident that a damage of well over 2000 EUR was estimated. 2b) The alternative would be a ride into the workshop and a cost estimate, right? 3. Driving suitability Does something speak against that I do not drive into a workshop with the broken turn signal and the bent clutch lever? Thank you in advance and a nice 3rd October
