Mercedes G400CDI Gear damage

We are owners of a G400CDI (long version)V8, built in 2005. The vehicle has 116T km on the speedometer, of which we have driven 60T km in the last 4 years. After a turbocharger damage in December in the amount of almost 3000,-€ we had to have it to towed again last week. This time: transmission damage, estimated component costs alone approx. 6000,- €. We were advised by the Mercedes-Werkstatt to put further money into it, because this model is indeed for its susceptibility in the Getrie Since the car has provided us with good service so far and my heart is attached to it (V8 is V8), we are now faced with the decision to have the car repaired for expensive money and to risk another damage in the foreseeable future, or to exchange it for the newer variant G270. What would you advise us to do? Car is otherwise top there (Limited Edition with an edition of 250 pieces), but we can’t get rid of it. reprogramming damage anyway? Or should we get a different opinion – if, of whom or is there a cheaper repair variant with one of the usual off-road vehicle technicians? Or rather let the fingers of it, as everyone says? Are grateful for every tip!
