Hi, I signed up here because I need help in terms of buying used cars, because I have absolutely no idea of cars, although I am a prospective engineer, and I have not had one yet. I need a car now because I do an internship, to which I have to commute about 120km (2x60km) daily. Rail connections are unfortunately unacceptable (>3h) and I don’t want to move for a 5-month internship either. So I would like to buy a car with which I can travel these routes to the Here are the thoughts I have made so far: 1) Price/Budget It should be cheap!! I am as mentioned student and have for the purchase no more than 2000€ available. Besides, I want a car that is cheap in the maintenance, so as little fuel as possible swallows and falls into a low type class. 2) Fuel Actually, for commuting mostly diesel are recommended, but since I only spend a few months, I think, In the price range up to 2000€ the range of diesel vehicles is relatively limited, therefore I had a petrol in mind. With E10 you can save some money, depending on how this develops. 3)Retailer/Private I thought about buying from a dealer, because as I said, I have little idea of cars and I would feel a bit more comfortable than with a private seller. In addition, I have a year warranty, which 4)Manufacturer/model With these conditions it is clear that only a small car is possible. Design doesn’t really matter, I’m not a car freak and don’t attach any importance to it as I said before. I don’t need a good motorization either, I really only have to be able to swim in the 120s traffic. With these considerations, I have the Renault Twingo or the Opel Corsa 1.2 in the first place. That’s where I found 2000€ models that have around 100,000 km down and still look good. What I have to say is that I have to tend to a twingo at the moment, as they usually make a fresher impression on comparable offers than the Opel. What do you think about it? And in which direction could you go with these specifications? Many greetings and many thanks for your help, Mr_Excellent
