  • Yamaha XJ 600 Diversion Clutch characteristics and handlebar flaps

Hello all, I bought a 97er diversion today. A little less than 70,000 km. The previous owner told me the clutch was made new. On the return trip 2 things noticed: 1. With all the other motoor bikes I have, the 1st course goes in with a full “crack”. With this not. I just push down (sometimes it doesn’t go directly) and N goes out. Very gently. 2. The clutch comes on the last cm at the handle. And I can switch without any problems without having to domes. So Sometimes it hangs a bit too, then I have to press the foot lever several times. Is this all normal? How can I adjust the clutch that comes after the first cm on the lever? Furthermore, I noticed that if I take my hands briefly from the lemkrad, it starts me directly with handlebar flaps. So man can’t drive free-handed. What could be the cause here?

  • Lithium-ion battery from Shido

Moin Moin, it is traditionally the time in the year in which one deals with the topic of starter battery. Mostly because the old one has given up the spirit. I got a Li-Ion battery from Shido last year and meanwhile also covered a few kilometers with the good piece. Conclusion: conspicuously inconspicuous. But what you notice directly: the XSR 900 starts better than with the old one. Where she has previously allowed herself a starter turn more, the good one starts right now. Vortei le: -Higher starter current -kaum Self-discharge – weighs only 30% of the old battery -charging status indicator Disadvantages: -less battery capacity -under -10°C no longer to be used Who wants to read it more about because of how/why/why, here is the detailed report.

  • Take off the workshop?

Good day, I register here because I think I’m getting ripped off by a workshop! Now to the story : My car showed last week Saturday that the cooling liquid is low and should be refilled. Well then I am to the ATU, and other workshop but all were full with appointments and would have only got one at the beginning of May. So I am to the car dealer where I have the car and have explained my problem, I should then drive to his workshop with it his employee Marderbiss -> tube broken and thus apparently also the cooler was dead. Car parked there, on Monday, after he pumped off he showed me that through the cooler on the side liquid comes out when you blow in. So it started already, I need my car urgently because otherwise I come to work hard, had a lot around the ears, the guy calls me and says that he can order the materials but then he also needs the money from me : underprint older, screws, KÜHLER, housing = 977EUR! I thought to myself shit okay everything clear, insurance certainly takes part of the costs. So he ordered. The next day (I know I should have contacted the insurance first and not paid in advance so much) I sent the damage report to the insurance. 2 days later the expert was in the workshop and determined the damage. Thursday I get a letter from my insurance where in s I’ll call my insurance company again today because I’m supposed to fax them a copy of the bill, then I’m in the workshop and told the good guy tells me that the expert took the bill, I get a duplicate and I get the insurance also a letter. I should wait and not have it repaired yet. If I want to take the car with me then I should pay 650EUR working time otherwise I can pay my car after the rep aratur not take away calls again at my insurance and the lady tells me that it is very skurill, there is nothing that the evaluator would have taken with me any invoice, that it is also not normal that those already in advance want the money and I should definitely contact the evaluator tomorrow. She also sent me an eMail where all costs stand : cooler hose, heating hose, housing, labor wage = 501EUR So there is nothing about because of cooler or I got the bill from the workshop staff via WhatsApp >. < < I know I made serious mistakes, and if the whole thing is confusing or difficult to read, I'm sorry, but I'm on 180 and totally desperate. What else can you do?

  • Used Smart / Second Car

Hello together, I often read topics and am always amazed at how much experience there is. Therefore, I thought that I should knock on my project here. On the facts: I am looking for a car for my wife. Basically, she drives her bike to work, but when it rains or is smooth, the whole thing is less comfortable. In addition, she often makes 24h-services in the month, even there with the bike the return journey sometimes a bit exhausting In the next two years, there might be a family planning, where we would rather drive the Leon and leave the new one again. Well, my wife finds the current Smart very nice. Therefore, I have looked for offers. I noticed this one:https://www.autoscout24.de/…/…2ba12f0e-3c57-4dc6-946b-b1160b3f70b7 We would look at it tonight and maybe directly at it. Is there something obvious against it? Is the price reasonable? Is there something I should be looking at in the test drive? Thank you in advance!

  • 5th unofficial MT/Corsa user meeting at Dortmund from 25.8 to 27.8.

Evening all, It’s time – after the enormously funny, though poorly attended meeting in Dransfeld is the second annual meeting of the Kaos crew in the house and as always can come anyone who has time and pleasure. This time it takes us to the greater area Dortmund to the campsite Hohensyburg. Last year were all quite pleased with the location and also this year there should be a lot of fun again. The time is the last August weekend, i.e. from 25.08. to 27.08. to the general process, simply copied from the last thread: The meeting has no official character. I will be back on site as usual as “mode to touch” (), but with motor talk the whole thing has nothing to do with it. We do this for legal reasons, which I will gladly explain further if necessary. The place is not, as usual from larger meetings, a large rented meadow, but part of a campsite. Fortunately we get in Hohensyburg mostly a a somewhat remote open space with parking facilities and plenty of room for manoeuvre, without directly harassing other campers. Nevertheless, there is a certain responsibility on each participant, but I think it should be clear to everyone. Otherwise, there will be a lot of fun as always. There is no fixed plan, except: Friday arrival, then lots of crickets, fasels, fun and Sunday leave again. Experience has shown that this is completely enough as a basic planning! So if you serious int eresse have then voted for your possible weekends and best add your number of persons and cars. Greetings, qp

  • Motorcycle purchase

Hello, I am Cobrus and new. I know that there is probably already a lot to buy a new machine in the forum, but contrary to other habits I as a newer did not just want an old thread hijacken. My concern is this. I have now for a good ten days my driver’s license (A unlimited) and consider whether I still buy my own machine this year. Basically I have a Kawasaki ER6f in view, which I want to get from a nearby dealer. I can be lucky and November will be good again, I can have bad luck and I can make the bike winter in the next two weeks. At least here in the Harz the latter could rather happen. However, I also have the fear that I will forget everything that I have trained myself in the last weeks and then for rerun lessons as much as for the driving licence a What would your advice be, also with regard to driving in November? I would also be interested in whether you should accept dealer prices for motorcycles unquestioned or whether there is a room for negotiation as with cars and how to explore it. Thank you for your help. Cobrus

  • Gas station helmet take off

In fact, I keep my helmet for payment. Only if I intend to have a cup of coffee on the motorway or the like, I take off my helmet. Now I have read that signs with a crossed-out helmet are to be found in Austria at some gas stations, which indicate that you have to take off your helmet for safety reasons when entering the cashroom. The staff feel so less “threatened”. How do you pay? With or without a helmet?

  • RADIO EXCHANGE at 3l LUPO BJ 2000

Hello, you guys I have a (for me) huge problem Now I bought a nice new radio with mp3 player and want to exchange it for the old beta. The information from the VW workshop said: This has to be installed by the workshop, because the radio is connected to the diagnostic grave in the car and then has to be changed with the new radio or on the diagnostic device. Otherwise the electronics in the car would break… Installation costs: 150,00 EUR Radio costs: 89,00 EUR *gr ml* Do you know if the statement of the workshop is correct. And if so, what exactly must be changed??? Thank you for your help already. ellypirelli

  • How well does the workshop have to work

I’m just having a parking ramper repaired in a “specialist workshop”. The opposing insurance pays. Damages: Foil (pressed over wheel box), bumper paint off, rim scratches. Everything in the back left. I said it should look like before the accident. At the first transfer date I noticed that a fold that has been reworked into the sheet had disappeared. It runs about 3 cm from the wheel box in half circle. I hope you know what I mean. On the second transfer date, the fold was now there again, but in the area of the tank cover the paint was unevenly applied. The scratch on the rim was only polished. However, it is still visible. So I left the car there again. Now the questions: Do I have to accept swabs? According to the motto: The vehicle is repaired but not new. (As said: The insurance pays!!!) Do you have tips and tricks on how to detect unclean work or errors? (La ck, Blech) Since I’m not an expert, I could only object to what a blind man sees. What if in 4-5 years all of this gutters from the inside? (guarantee 2 years) Since I don’t have to deal with workshops so often, I don’t know exactly what goes on there. But just wanting to hand over the car to me like this is something that confuses me. I am grateful for every contribution from you! With confused greetings uruguru

  • Business trip by private car

Hello together, have a short question to the insurance experts. Let’s take on a business trip with my private passenger car (about 500 km a distance) and get the usual 0.30 € per km paid by the travel cost account. So far so good. Now the question: If I do now with my car a self-inflicted accident, then my insurance percentages go up ? Background is that there is a fleet with us in the company, but I for a week with my pr ivat-PKW is supposed to go on business trip, because that is supposedly cheaper. If I do a self-indebted accident with the company-PKW, then I don’t care about my percentages, because the company pays the insurance. Does this mean that I have an additional risk by the ride with the private-PKW? How is this regulated? How do you do it? Thank you for the information ! Greeting Karle
