  • Purchase decision Mazda 5 vs. Skoda Octavia Combi

Hello, look for a family car, budget up to 10,000 € (had already a thread here..) Have my selection now limited to the two models. Actually, I had decided hard on Octavia, but then I stumbled more or less randomly over a freshly arrived offer and read that the Mazda has 5 steering cats instead of timing belts. Octavia would probably become a 1.6er 102 hp (or 1.6 FSI), the said Mazda 5 offer is this here: http://www.autoscout24.de/DetailsTat2.aspx?… (Photos are handed over, car only comes in on Monday..) What do you think? It should be a gasoline tanker, because mostly short distance and probably well under 15,000 km a year. Perhaps even only around 10,000. Pro and Contra which I have noted so far: Pro Octavia: – cheaper purchase at the same age and duration – less consumption – overall cheaper in maintenance – proven VW technology Pro Mazda 5: – control chain – ang ebenlich also a very reliable car – my girlfriend is animalistic about the thing The Mazda is probably also in the front, but is also a van and not a station wagon. Be happy about every comment about both cars. Should I really turn around again at the last meters!? Greetings from Hamburg

  • Scooter, quad or ancient car??

Hi there, I have a question what would be best. I need a vehicle which brings me from A to B and is safe to drive in winter. The track every day is not far but curvy and especially in winter with ice, I have my concerns with a scooter, even with winter tires. I was told however that a quad is not much safer in that case, and a car would really only be an option if it is not possible otherwise. Financially I would be for a scooter. How safe, resp. uncertain is What do you have to pay attention to when buying a scooter? What is the lifespan of a scooter? What is a good number of kilometers a scooter can still have before it doesn’t make sense to buy (so used)? What brand of scooter is not too expensive but still qualitatively in order? Maybe you can help me there? I have no idea and would need it soon. What are your suggestions or advices? Thank you Rebecca

  • Scooter squirts when gas-giving question about exhaust and oil pump.

Servus, have installed my scooter (2T NRG Power DT air cooling) a new Lima, Simmeringe and a new CDI today, because it always started me when driving over ground waves. At the end of the day he had “slips” again and again at full gas. So far it seems to work now. Was then after the installation a bit difficult to get in, but finally it worked. I gave some brake cleaner directly to the area where he sucks the air in front of the air filter. Then he came and He smokes like wild. Then I let him run for a good 20 minutes, first something in the stand gas and then also with higher dreeh numbers. He smokes pretty much when you give gas. Here is a photo of the oil pump. Is this really set? Or is it the “shmodder” of the many misstarts? When I hold the exhaust it goes off, but it hisses easily where the exhaust is screwed to the engine. Just as long until there is no overpressure in the exhaust. Is that normal? Or does the abs You want to be dense?

  • Honda Bali 50 – trailer there incl. Holm – which clutch?

Evening, I had bought a rather stable trailer for the scooter to transport a box of beer, or to throw away green stuff. That was already the holm, now I would like to know which clutch would be suitable for it? Can you do with the dimensions what? I think the ball should have around the 20mm, what stable clutch do you know? What about the Hebie F3? Unfortunately I don’t see an ID, so I don’t know if it fits?!

  • Subaru SVX – Timing belt change due since 115,000 KM – Interval?

Moin, I myself come from the Opel Forum and have a question about my uncle’s Subaru SVX (built in 92). We happened to come up with the subject of timing belts, as I mentioned that a toothed belt tear in my Omega 16V would cause a considerable damage and my change interval had to be kept exactly. After that we looked at when the last change of my uncle’s SVX was made. This is now 115,000 KM back. The SVX itself has 297,000 KM on the clock. Is the SVX the change interval? Is it already due? Is it the same with the SVX that a crack brings with it a subsequent engine damage or can you drive it until it tears. I would be very surprised now. Would be great if someone could explain it to us. Karsten

  • Used middle car up to 3000€

Hello everyone, I hope I’m right here. I’m looking for a medium-sized car, which has 4/5 doors (my parents absolutely want it) up to 3000€. I’ve looked at some things and wanted to ask you for advice on what you could tell me about these cars. If you have other offers, I’m naturally happy about it ^^. I’m a student and the only one in the family with a driver’s license. That’s why I need both my parents’ needs and mine. For me it would be important that the car from the maintenance would be good. I had an accident a few years ago and am therefore at 125%, so I try to find one that doesn’t make me poor in the insurance. In itself I probably won’t drive often anyway, because I have a ticket. Actually I don’t need a car, but my parents absolutely want to get one so that it is there. Well, I can’t do anything. What can you say to the Almera? And what about Daewo? I don’t know anything about it ^^ I hope you can help me, because I don’t know myself so well.If you have any questions, I’m here.So these are the cars:Opel Astra *1.6*KLIMA*SCHECKHEFT*TÜV/AU 06/2015* Opel Astra 1.6 Edition 100Opel Astra 1.6 Elegance,LMF,Winter wheels,TÜV 04/2015 Nissan Almera 1.8 Comfort Navi Opel Astra 1.2 Selection-Climate-Euro4-1.HandDaewoo Lacetti 1.6 SX FROM 1 HAND WITH EURO 3 NORM Opel Astra 1.6 Selection / Incl. 1 year GW-G arantie

  • T1 procedure in Rotterdam – Where can I get it?

Hello together I have a problem! And indeed my Ford Edge is stuck in Rotterdam, actually I wanted to pick up the car, have the T1 form filled out and then drive to Switzerland. (T1= Dispatch procedure / Nightgemeinschaftsware) The Shipping Company told me, however, she could not do this, but another company (Gaston School from Holland) could fill me in a T1 form. I called them and they said: There are too many risks for them, so they can do the nic Well… now I’m sitting there a little bit and I don’t know what to do. Do you have any solutions where I can get a T1 document? Where I can get the filling out in Rotterdam? Otherwise I have to have the car transported from the Shipping Company (Schumacher Cargo, just like BTW) to Switzerland… Thank you for your help.

  • Pontiac Firebird Built 1989 License plate holder 320x200mm

Hi guys, I’m new here in the forum. I hope this is the right topic. It’s about the following: I have a Pontiac Firebird Bj. 1989 (3rd gene). The vehicle has a license plate cut-out of 34cm width at the rear. I was on the vehicle authority for re-registration. There I got a license plate for the rear with the size 320x200mm (the vehicle authority did not let me talk about smaller license plate). However, I can’t find a holder for the back of the vehicle online. If yes, where can I buy them? I have seen mounts for 340x200mm, would they fit? So the license plate holds with it and fits it into the recess on the vehicle? In the worst case I can screw the license plate directly to the rear bumper again, but I wanted to make it “ordinary”. Thank you very much for your help! Greeting, Dr. Piti

  • ’92 Firebird Exhaust Test – HC and CO too high

Hey guys, now that I’ve been reading in the net for three hours on the subject, and from broken lambda probes to ramped-in camshafts, all was there, but no error description really happened to mine, I’m asking here. In idle mode, the CO doesn’t fit and at increased speed, only the HC doesn’t fit. But always only one of them, it didn’t occur throughout the AU that both values didn’t fit at the same time. CO2 and NOx were in absolutely green In addition, the examiner said that the Lambda probe would react sluggishly. I had the Lambda probe and the air filter replaced now. In other forums it was said that the TPI for the AU should have a hose of the AIR pump, or the plugs of the control box of the same pump. Is this also true for the MFI V6? After the two values dance in this strange pattern from the row, and otherwise not, I assume that the catalyst and spark plugs are in order. A user from a Land Rover forum was of the opinion that a tired ignition coil might (sometimes) cause this problem. Can there be anything about it? I still noticed an inconsistency when I drove to the AU: After I was in the exhaust test I filled the cart. However, the fuel calculator then calculated a consumption of 43.28 l/100 KM. Can this be in a causal context? (I’m not sure if it’s just a numerical turn. The car was standing for a while before I went to the AU.) Questions about questions… Denis
