  • Simoniz Glass Coat

One of my favorite stations here in the USA is the History Channel. And there’s a series called “Modern Marvels”. There, technical and scientific educations are presented in all sorts of areas. The topic was water resistance. Among other things, this came here:http://www.simonizprofessional.com/…/Simoniz_GlassCoat_1.asp I had immediately noted that. Since I’ve been driving my car, this perpetual recurring procedure bothers me to preserve the car paint. Next day Internet. Finding that the stuff is not so easy to buy. On eBay. Oha, not exactly cheap. And you don’t get much. 60 ml for that kind of $25. Treasures, that’s enough for a car. My car paint to glass, so to say, but the thought was too seductive. So 2 bottles for $40.- orderd. So now have arrived at me. But then also that, see photos. The labels are partly unrecognized. With a bottle, I’ve got that kind of hard time to try it out in the USA. And then I can’s very hard to tell you all about it.

  • Light cooling water consumption at the 850 TDI

Hello everybody, I’m new here and need a little help: I’ve had a Volvo 850 Tdi for some time now, with about 304 000 km on the clock. After having completed some holiday trips to Denmark and southern Italy without any problems in summer, one day after I drove a distance of about 800 km, a large pool under the car!!! Tasted, and fed, that tastes like cooling water… afterwards there were rarely even smaller spots under it, now it has completely stopped! Trozdem regularly disappears water from the balance tank, currently about 0.3 liters to 1000 km. A workshop has pressed the system and said, all close enough, the master then said that because of the high mileage the engine is already a little “exploded” and therefore a coolant consumption of up to 0.3 liters to 1000 km is tolerable. Bubbles are not available in the container, in the oil is no water and vice versa, after starting it smokes a little white from the exhaust, but when it is operating warm no longer. Ride in the moment a lot short distance between 7 and 30 km… Does anyone know the problem?

  • Chrome trimmings for the switches/buttons of the seat adjustment retrofit

My Holde asks me, of course, how every year, what I want for Christmas so in small things. No problem, would have liked the switches of the seat adjustment as with the GP4, i.e. chrome rings around the keys. But is nevertheless a problem, because according to information of my friend only the entire switch unit for exchange exists. Cost per seat 195 ocken without fairytale tax. For the seat adjustment at the back, since 4-seater, I have not asked the price after all. As nice as I find the things optically also, but approx. 465 Euro no for the front seats and probably 200 for the rear seats, would be for a Christmas gift from my dear wife, nevertheless too much of the good. The one/reconstruction would be added, so already a bit more than small things… I have searched for cheaper alternatives the net up and down, there is obviously no. Would indirectly mean that a broken switch, e.g. for the height adjustment, could not be replaced individually. Can something like that really be? LG Udo Udo

  • Phaeton navigation and zab software level

Hello guys, I bought myself a 2003 Phaeton V6 petrol. Now I have the message in the zab ” Navigation not available” the reading of the error memory resulted: 0 error detected. But I found that the software versions of the Zab and the Navicomputer do not fit together. A flashing with the original Vw-Update Cd is not possible because the two devices probably because of the different software levels do not communicate with each other. i.e. the update is not started at all. Who can flash me a single device to the appropriate data level ( ZAB or navigation calculator)? I would like to see answers like “Buy a Tomtom or I had that at my passat also”! I need expert help! Greeting Rocky.

  • Motor control light lights – read it out yourself with an OBD Bluetooth

Hello together, in another thread I had pointed out that with an OBD Bluetooth device with every Android mobile phone/tabi (with me with Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Honeycomb) you can read out its error codes yourself and also delete them. So that everyone can use one of them, I write here the important information. Before, the reader works perfectly with the Phaeti … so I have the OBD 2 ELM327 Bluetooth CAN BUS interfacehttp://www.ebay.de/itm/110784820754?… This was there within 2 days! As already written, it works with all Android operated mobile phones/tabies from 2.2 Should anyone else have an older version, just update it!!! Torque is available in the Android brand. Download the full version for 3.50 Euro, every cent is worth!!! After that the device with Bluetooth koppeln/pairs …. finished You really save yourself the annoying visits while reading out for it and above all, no one can blame you any more! If you have asked yourself about it, I don’t have the same thing for Bluetooth.

  • Phaeton in left-hand traffic

Hello dear Phaetongemeinde, in about 2 weeks I will receive my first Phaeton, which I bought from the factory pool. The “little one” (my fat one is a 2013 Touareg) comes with almost full equipment and only 3900 km. I have already searched for older posts due to left traffic but nothing satisfactory (except 2007). I drive among other things an E-Class W212. Here I can easily adjust the dipped light via the on-board computer via the menu on left traffic. I actually also possible this in the Phaeton or has to be adjusted manually? It would be very important for me to know, since I have to work more often on the big island. Thank you in advance and I hope that in future I can contribute something meaningful in this forum too.

  • Clamping at the 3.0 TDI at the stand

Good evening everyone, so new here and already I need help/ advice from you experienced Phaetonists I found today, that if I step on the accelerator pedal in the stand and go down again, then at about 1000 revolutions a short “crack” can be heard from the engine room. One hears it only with open windows. It doesn’t matter whether the selector lever is on P, or N. I’m right next to a buddy, who drives an A6 3.0 TDI, Bj 08. With him that’s not so. Otherwise the running wash sounds quite normal, 100% just like with the A6. Does anyone know this phenomenon perhaps? I would be grateful for any hint. My fat guy is Bj 03.2009, has 109,000km down, 3.0 TDI, 239PS (CEXA) Already many thanks and nice greetings Matthias

  • V6 or V10 Diesel

Hello guys, I’m new here and I would like to get a used Phaeton V6 or V10 in a few months. Is a super car at top used car prices. Since the V6 and the V10 cost me about the same in the purchase, I wanted to hear your opinion. At the moment I drive an A6 2.0 TDI with 140 hp. It is a bit lame. I drive about 45 Tkm per year. A lot of highway, but also more often in the city. Now I have concerns with the V10 because of particle filters, consumption, vulnerability, repair costs, turbochargers, insurance costs etc… The V6 is much cheaper from the maintenance. Only the 5.0 liters with 10 cylinders appeal. In addition, the Phaeton is quite heavy, so that the V6 has about the same values as a 2.7 liter. engine in the A6. If he had the same performance data as the 3.0 lit. from the A6 or from the 530 d. I would be satisfied, but good 9 sec. on 100 km/h I really can’t help you.
