  • XC90T8 and culant from Volvo

    Dear half-sweden, I have a T8 Bj 2016 with 61500km with the following problem. He suddenly got off the stand and didn’t hit any more and announced with a blow/knall no longer to repuperate, after 10-20 meters he has recuperated again. Now the (two independent) service advisors told me that it will probably be the electric/gear unit, Volvo would want to make an update for cost reasons. Of course an update does not fix any mechanical Proble 😉 but if Volvo says that. So I was back in the workshop a few days later, then the inverter was replaced ^^ , of course also without success and I should take over the cost of 741,-€, because my guarantee takes over only 80% of the costs. A culant request was rejected. After my vacation I am back with the same problem to the workshop, there he is now for 3 weeks. It’s the gear Erad and electric Erad defective and metal chips in the gear and I should now pay once again 941,-€. Volvo doesn’t like to take part in terms of the premium brand? I don’t like to say that I’t share the same with my warranty.

  • Code ABS ECU

    Hello, my Lupo (type AYZ) has meanwhile 372,000 km down and after lighting up the ABS and brake warning lamp and repeated beeping has set the driving readiness. Since I have access to a megamacs42 engine tester, I was able to find out that the ABS control unit (6E0907379B) was defective. Fortunately I also had a part available and installed it. The Lupo runs again great, but now the ESP lamp lights up consistently. As error code I get with ABS: Error code 778 steering angle sensor function incorrect and with motor: Error code 18057 CAN bus drive Communication with ABS control unit missing My research has shown that after replacing the ABS control unit a zero balance of the steering angle sensor has to take place. This is not so wild, but before, as far as I can see this at the moment, still the control unit must be coded. Unfortunately, I found no instructions for this. My question is: has someone done this and can describe how it goes?

    Hello Folks I want to change certain things about my Volvo and want to change your opinion about it. so start with the standlight, I’m thinking about whether I want to build LED or those of Phillips in order to make it really white. e.g.http://www.hid-lights.com/products/led/194/T5-1W.html for the marklight/inside roomhttp://www.hid-lights.com/products/led/1036/1036-6w.html I’m still looking for something sensible for high-light… may also be 90/ 100Watt. Should be the HB3 light bulb or? I honestly don’t understand the Bi-Xenon. I ride a summum, because I thought that Bi-Xenon also means the long-distance light is switched with Xenon… A very different question on which I can’t find an answer yet, what is that for a place in the glove compartment that looks similar to a slot for credit cards?

  • Volvo V50 Buy decision Gasoline recommender? Now or still waiting?

    Hello, I’m thinking about buying a Volvo V50 4-cylinder gasoline engine. My price idea is between EUR 17,000 – EUR 19,000, the Turbo engine should not be. The Volvo V50 should be because I don’t really want to buy BMW, Mercedes and Audi – visually the car appeals to me. The car should be a maximum of one year old and run about 30,000 km, now I’ve read a lot here and am not quite sure about all the postings anymore, should I really buy a Volvo V50? The diesel problems are now known to me, but I find here a few entries from petrol drivers drive. Can I buy a Volvo V50 with a good conscience or should I wait because the purchase doesn’t have to take place right away from now.

  • Bulbs Climate Control Panel and Screws ABS/Tracs SG

    Hello together…. Let’s ask a question, maybe someone has an idea…. Meanwhile we have been able to successfully repair my ABS/Tracs SG. Thanks again to Terwi and Lucky CD! Unfortunately, the four screws are no longer ok, but the device is currently installed again and for almost 14 days and several kilometers the lamps no longer shine. However, we would replace the four screws with new ones, because the heads are completely unusable. However, these screws are no longer available to buy, at least at a Volvo dealer in DA and at a part supplier (everyone knows it) in HH. Does anyone have any idea where I can get these four screws or a suitable replacement? The three lamps/lamps for lighting the climate control unit cost a proud 6 thalers per piece. Is there probably only as an original replacement and not from Osram or/and Co…. Someone an idea how to bring the completely dark operating part back to lighting more cost-effectively?! VG Bird

  • Rubbing in the brake – sometimes different

    Moinsen, I wanted to complain to you about my suffering For 2 days now I have had a strong “rubbling” in the brake. You know from the T5 – clearly the rear panes, which are warped… …thinkest! Yesterday evening fast down on the lifting hill and wheels at the rear. Measuring clock set up and turned. Nothing! Discs are tippitoppi just without blow. Seen more. Seen: brake lining in the rear left has no contact to the slide! There is loosely 2mm air between the support image of the disc on the inside -ääääärks, looks like 10 years in the rain! Free access brake lining inside? Failed display! Free access piston inside? Fail display! Great sausage – there probably the previous owner when changing the brake linings at the HA forgot the Plasilube, and the BreFlüssigkeit has probably been treated a bit more deeply. I changed it from last year, but already too late, the corrosion had already begun to be able to do so now, the brake pads have a new one.

  • Questions about the V50 diesel wg. planned change of vehicle

    We plan to replace our V50 petrol engine 1.8 l with another V50 in the autumn. In view of the lower fuel consumption, a diesel engine (109 or 136 hp) would be an interesting option. In this context, I would like to know more about the following points: !) can a V50 diesel engine be driven as fast as a petrol engine? 2) The problem of turbocharger failure: does this occur more frequently with diesel engines? Can the problem possibly narrow down to certain years of construction? 3) Do the diesel engines have timing belts or chains? 4) Does the particulate filter have to be replaced regularly? If yes: costs for this? Thanks already fiete

  • C70 offer and then disappointed

    Had from the official Volvo side an offer of a Volvo dealer for a C 70 D 3 Aut Summum, Xenium for 29900 Euro.EZ 04/2011 with 16600 km. After 240 km arrived there my wife first noticed that the bonnet had no symmetrical seat, i.e. the columns on the sides were different wide. My question whether this car had an accident was immediately negated. Next, my wife noticed that the windshield was without Volvo stickers, so probably not an original part. As if then the parking aid wanted to try out, which should be available according to description in front and back, it hit at the rear, while it did not make any mucks at the front, although its activation was displayed in the display. After again careful viewing, we could neither identify any sensors at the front, compared this again in the car house with other vehicles and were confirmed by the fact that there was no fault in this vehicle. My question about the windshield was dismissed, that it was probably just as unimportant as the question of whether the Aral or Shell did wrongly take the replacement for me at the front.

  • 7J x 17 H2 ET 39 with 225/45 g tyres on Volvo V50

    moin…. after the torture of the search where I found nothing clever, I wanted to ask if I can drive the above-mentioned rim / tire combination without problems on my car / allowed. have received a part report and an opinion for the allocation of a supplement to the abe. the part report is to be entered in the car papers, I know that. but the other is not a proper ABE, or ?! I have to have the wheel / tire combination entered, or?! I would like to do so, since I have no bock on paperwork in the car. I prefer everything inside registration. well my question is whether I have to work something on the vehicle, wheel house shell or. did not intend to let the vehicle ever go deeper. so original drive work remained there. because it is in the onsets, that must be provided for sufficient freedom of use. because I gave the original? frag nach, since I know it from my original car without having to know any more than 225/45.

  • Odometer reset before picking up new car

    When I saw my V50 the first time – one day after it was unloaded from the truck, he had 17,2 km on the speedometer. On the display was still “transport mode” or similar. On the pick-up day then, he had only 0.2 km also the speedometer – so he was reset! So I asked, assured me that no one was driven with the vehicle and that at Volvo is like that with the removal of the transport mode and the transfer inspection, the km counter is reset. Is that really so?
