  • Contact plate (Zündschloss) Volvo 850 Kombi

Hello together, some time ago I asked here about an electrical fault and got help immediately. I was pointed out to the contact plate in the ignition lock at the Volvo 850 Kombi. Yesterday I was finally at a Volvo dealer near us (after the error now permanently occurs) and wanted to buy the part. In the forum it was written that the plate costs 35-50 Euro, and when the dealer then yesterday wanted to have 152,- Euro without installation I was quite surprised. Therefore my question… Is there different parts or is this perhaps different from model to model? 152,- Euro for the contact plate was too expensive for me and therefore I ask here again, maybe someone has an idea what went wrong… Didi

  • Sports exhaust on 2,4i

Hi, today I gave my little one in the hands of the friend and his doctors for less than 2 hours. Now the double tube system of Heico as well as the appropriate air filter is mounted. I can only say I am thrilled. I liked the sound of the 5cylinder before but now it is simply HAMMER. In the area of 2000-3000upm it roars something in the interior that can disturb a manchma but from 3000 it sounds more like V6 than after 5cylinders. The workmanship is of course also Top and a body kit Volvo with only one tube looks somehow unfinished . I take the days still photos and try to somehow make some good recordings of sound and upload them.

  • Flattering in the front axle? After new Domalger coupling rods etc….

Moin, last week avoid front axle made new… so coupling rods, push rods, heads are only 2 years old etc… so the full program inlk Domlager… Drives and steers and brakes again a lot better… I noticed that the saddle is firmly on the rear right, I changed, to the left still floods Well what I actually wanted to do is that now at speeds around 100km/h a fold occurs in the steering system, that was before, however, even at lower speeds and more extreme… so you can see correctly how the steering wheel moves from left to right… and back again… but it remains in the track… The track has of course also been remeasured, that’s clear. At the beginning of the summer, I have quite exactly washed the matured brake test bench also showed that left and right are pulling evenly at the brake wheel, so no significant difference What can it be now? Does anyone know that?

  • MAXICOSI or Römersitz Desaster in the V70 – Square Desaster

Hello Volvo colleagues, this morning we wanted to pick up our twins in the Khs. I bought 2 new Roman seats. Then, at 9:10 am my blood pressure on 200. The Roman seats do not fit on the rear seats, if the front seat is set to the rear and down, the seatrest is set “normal”. So I have to make the seat about 10 cm forward and then I, with 1.92 m height, have the problem that I have to operate the steering wheel between the knees, if I could still pack in between. What do I do!? First I thought, ok, on the middle 3 point belt. What do I have to recognize? The belt is about 10 cm too short, meaning I can’t get into the belt lock. So that’s not possible. I thought that further, then I put the 2nd seat on the passenger seat, then my wife or I can sit on the rear left. Nor can I see, because it doesn’t have an airbag off switch. Even more annoying, the newly ordered one is on the factory belt and the seller could not have ordered the “extra” middle seat. But I could not have bought the option for the factory.

  • Xc90 D5 – Undermotorized?!

Hello together I drove yesterday for the first time the XC90 with the newer diesel engine (185 HP Veriante). The car came directly from the truck and had just 70km on it. I have to say it is a beautiful car, but under a T6 or V8 there is nothing. The acceleration of the D5 is comparable to the acceleration of the S60 T5 in the 5th gear. Is this normal that the diesel engine with at least 400 Nm is so extremely weak? Well and then the total consumption. I drove really comfortably, but I did not bring the average consumption under 15 L from 100km. At Volvo it is officially indicated with about 9.0 L / 100km. The D5 itself may be a good engine, but the XC90 in conjunction with this engine is extremely undermotorized. Gruss Raffi

  • A6 Avant vs XC90

Hi! I’m driving an A6 Avant (BJ03). Unfortunately, no Quattro, which was a problem last winter. That’s why I want a “more winter-friendly” car. I’m fascinated by two vehicles: the XC90 D5 and the Audi Allroad, each with automatic, how can I compare them best? Which is more terrain-friendly? I think the Quattro system is basically superior in winter, right? Terrain suitability is not important to me, it’s only about the use in the snow. Does anyone have comparisons with the maintenance and running costs? After the space in the A6 gets pretty slow, the question arises further whether the XC90 has more space and is better to use? Thanks already in advance for your answers, Thomas

  • V6 TDI – wear measure brake discs

Hello, I’ve been a silent “member reader” here for months now in the forum, because I have somehow eaten a fool at Phaeton. After a long search I now have a Phaeton in the short choice, next week we go to the test drive, after I have already looked at the car in advance. It is a V6 TDI from 07/2006 with almost full hut. List price was new at almost 90,000,- The car has some flaws, but still according to the salesman: rust bubble over the decorative strip driver door, light wass entry boot, worn tires. Striking are from my point of view the brake discs all around. These already have a ridge, but the seller doesn’t want to change them.. Finally, enough for the TÜV. My questions to you: – How deep can the ridge and the disks be? What is the wear measure of the disks? – What are the discs and coverings all around new to me at the V6 TDI? I’m from a thousand (Mterial+Lohn). Is this realistic?

  • Automatic recirculation…

Hello everyone, what happens when the automatic air circulation function is activated? Actually, the air circulation should be activated in case of bad odours as far as I remember. But if I drive past a field stinking of slurry it still stinks insanely in my car. Is the function somehow defective? And how does the recognition of bad odors work? Ds only thing I could determine with activated function was an increased fuel consumption by approx. 0.5 – 1.0 liters to 100 km. Gruss capdoc

  • Mobile phones for Phaeton

Moin from the north, just leased me a Phaeton Bj. 2009. The hopeful value of VW NP was 110,000. The leasing conditions are sensational. Also, you don’t even have a glasses storage compartment, a hold function (there is not at all I have to hear) and most of all I find that you can use phones apparently outside of Nokia still Nokia (Siemens is away from the market). It is the one who invests 400 euros for this “reconstruction part” plus installation costs. Jammering at a high level – maybe. One please: Does anyone of you have experience which a k t u e l l e n phones work smoothly?

  • Vehicle without DPF still buy???

Hello, I ordered a VW Touareg 2.5 TDI R5 at the end of March. Delivery date should be in June! I don’t want to start a discussion about the car in itself, but I just want to hear as many opinions as possible about whether you would order a diesel without a filter now? In addition, you have to mention that I have received a super discount of approx. 15% on the new price! I think the resale value will not be worse than usual, because if I think how many hundreds of thousands of vehicles were delivered in the last months (WITHOUT DPF), yes, they should all be now suddenly Werlos? Retrofitting possibilities should come from work, that’s already certain! What do you think about it? P.S.: I am addressing this in the Volvo forum, since many people here have already been competent about the problem DPF spitting out!
