  • XC90 T8 – Power loss electric motor

    Hello! I have had my T8 (built in 2021) since September and during this time I had 2 times a noticeable power loss in pure mode, i.e. in pure electric drive. Both times it was a slope that can normally be driven without problems pure. Although I have climbed strongly on the accelerator pedal, the car has become slower and slower. 1x to a standstill, because I wanted to try what happened and the second time I finally started the burner by passing the gas pedal and solved the situation so. The first case was in September/October, so vmtl. somewhere at 15°C and yesterday it had about 0°C. Do you have an explanation or has someone like you already happened?

    Hello together, …. for three days now the moose is finally (!) in front of the garage (because it doesn’t fit in ) and I’m thrilled! Now I open the package and get the ceiling ‘out – nice with push buttons to fix it. Unfortunately in the trunk there are no counterpieces for the push buttons, but obviously you have to screw the enclosed parts into the rear side walls of the suitcase and the rear seats ??? Too bad i own it, because I wanted to do exactly the opposite with the ceiling and keep the “original condition” at least to some extent has one of you already installed this ceiling (or the push buttons) in the XC-90?

    Hello all, in the new XC90 there is no entertainment system for the 2 row of seats. Basically I would not be interested here, because mostly anyway too expensive for the short time it is used. To date we had here from Philips DVD Player with a fixed bracket which is also quite good and between the 2 rods the headrest of most cars can be mounted. Now the Volvo has no rods on the headrest! And I can therefore not use them anymore. Well in general a tablet of course also offers more possibilities! You can watch movies, play games and in the Nett Surfing. Therefore I find the solution to dodge the tablets. Now I have asked the friendly times, and there is an ipad solution! Also seems to be quite ok. The iPad is even loaded the cables are hidden. But the whole cost almost 1000€ for 2 pieces. And you still need the 2 iPads. Now to the actual question, what solutions have you found for you? Is there a holder that can be mounted to the XC90 headrest and then has a holder for the iPad of course also clearly in the cheap?

    My second topic. Short review: I switched from a Chevrolet Matiz 0.8 to a Phaeton 3.2. I would like to keep the incredibly beautiful feeling of relaxed travel for a long time. Lack of financial purchasing power I try to make up with craft use again to maintain this beautiful feeling as long as possible. I have already bought the car with the defects keys, with the hint of the private seller, they have to be syncronized in the factory town. In the forums I read: the charging state of the battery can also trigger this. After I get a message from time to time : lamps checked, I kept this possible and jammed the LINKE battery at the Minuspol and first partially charged it. After the partial charge I have jammed it, and started the engine: now I got a strong fluid loss: “ESP” and “Niveau error” – during the overlay where the vehicle knows my level, I have lost these messages. In the condition of the functionless transmitter, I did not have to do anything with the key – I might have changed the connection to the key.

    Hello, my father bought a 3l Tdi Bj 2008 GP1,5 as a leasing returner 3 years ago. A big problem with the car is the refueling. Regardless of the tank column it is impossible to snap in the tap and let the tank run full. Filling is interrupted again and again as if the tank was full.. A tanking with empty tank takes about 30min and is always a torture.. Since the car is to be sold now, we have to take the problem again. Shortly after the purchase the complete ventilation unit of the tank has been renewed for a repair sum of about 200€. But this without success.. The friendly does not know any further, the plant speaks of the individual case. A next step would be the exchange of the complete tank for 1000€ including working hours but without guarantee on remedy. My question is now whether someone knows this problem or has already heard of it. The works very gladly speak of “individual cases”. Thanks in advance and many greetings!

  • Gear oil gets too hot in trailer operation

    Hello Volvo-driver, before you answer me now, I should use the search function – I definitely found nothing suitable in the whole “Net”! I have a V70 II model 2004 with automatic transmission (AW 55-50). I bought the vehicle used. It had already a trailer coupling. So about after 2 hours drive with the trailer (weight 1400 kg) and full load of the towing vehicle the transmission oil is so hot that the automatic switch to an emergency program and the error “gear maintenance required” lights up. So when I give the Volvo a break and then drive again, everything is again in order, until the oil gets too hot again etc. The cooling water temperature rises u.a. also times to the red area, but always goes back again. So the whole thing is always (sunless never!!!) in the trailer operation can not be filled up with the operator’s manual – the error message is always deleted from the OBD II – then it will not be again until I drive with a caravan. I already several times, especially after the trailer rides the gear oil completely changed (by not having been filled up) and the dealer’s help for the operator’s unfortunately.

  • High beam does not snap in, remains weak

    Moin, am quite new here, so first of all hello to everyone! With my Volvo V40 Bj 2001 the main light does not snap after I pull the lever over stage 1 after stage 2. The light horn comes however. That is the same light as the main light, right? At the same time the bulb of the main light stays on, but only very weak… A mechanical problem is probably not or should a mechanical snap be noticeable at the lever? Oddly enough, it is also the case with me that when the main light lever is switched off, the dipped light (and not the main light) is correctly snapped in. If the engine is running again nothing. I pull the lever back (out of the first resistor of the light horn) and the main light goes on, while releasing again. Thank you for your answers! Pyfo

    Thank you Volvo, that you build such safe cars!! I was able to experience yesterday live, how sure such a V50 is built. Yesterday an Opel Astra with at least 100 kmh unbraked, into the passenger side. He packed me on the rear axle, hurled me against a tree and then pushed into the ditch. I got out as if nothing had been done. Except for a sling trauma and a slight bruise I got nothing. Only the V50 of course is completely destroyed. But no matter, you can replace it!! Ps.: also the Astra driver was God is only slightly injured thanks !!
