Hello, now have a Volvo V40 for almost 4 weeks. He still has the original cassette radio in it and I would like to install another one. I got the CD-box from Volvo and would like to install the radio. Since it is a DAB radio and with my antenna on the roof the seal anyway only hangs in shreds I would also like to install a combination antenna for VHF and DAB. My question would now only be how do I get the DAB cable from the rear to the front or where does the original cable go long? So what for connections do I need adapters etc?

V40 2004 1.6 Engine rattles
Servus, today got a well-preserved V40 Model 2004 for my girlfriend, the car stands well there, and I paid it very little, but with few small defects. The worst lack is a rattling (no rustling) in engine, sounds like the valves to the noise is there when the engine is cold and warm, in the upper speed range the noise is gone. The engine jumps without any problems also takes on the gas. Motor 1.6l 109 ps mileage 140t my guess is currently the camshaft adjuster. have not got the car at the moment here the dealer brings it by the week with the trailer. MfG Matthias

Hose clamp on the cooler gammelt away! Motor killer!
I don’t know if this problem is known, but the lower tube clamp on the radiator grille likes to gammelt away at the S40/V40. As a result: car suddenly loses its cooling water, which is unpleasant with 180 things on the highway..So better times control and replace when the gammel is far advanced. With me “the collar” of the cooling water hose burst fortunately in the workshop, when pressing off the cooling system. Since I have seen this warning also in English forums, it is probably a typical Macke of the X40… So better to prevent, instead of cry afterwards. If it is already known, at least newcomers will be happy about it.

Conclusion Test drive XC 90 V8
Hello, I can still drive the car for 1 day, but nevertheless my conclusion: Huge driving fun, especially on rural roads, with the highest risk of driving. Well-graded and switching gear, a great engine for this car, but not for the time. Nevertheless, everyone should enjoy the fun. Greetings Jo P.S.: It’s only after a whole time that I realize that the car has no roof railing – the wind noises are significantly lower!

After a few weeks in the forum it was time to order today. Order is out: Volvo XC 90 D5, 185 HP > manual transmission > 7seater > Equipment: MOMENTUM, > Inside: saharbeige > Extras: metallic black, laminated glass, turning mat in the luggage compartment, dimming of the windows at the rear (from the friendly), parking aid at the rear, parking heater with FB Navi: dispensed (price(performance is simply not right) Why: great design, 7 seats, acceptable driving performance, no real alternatives (for me actually only the Chrsler Voyager came into consideration, but only for 500m test ride…), woman and children liked the big guy too…. Thanks again to the many posters, if it is not fun you blame….

XC90 D5 or X5 3.0d?
I know to ask such a question in a Volvo Forum or BMw Forum is always a bit critical, because everyone is inclined towards his brand. But I would like to hear your infarctions. My father wants to lease a company car and has caught up with some offers. It has to be a diesel! The X5 is just a bit more expensive. He wants the first time such a SUV. I like both visually. Greatly practical they don’t necessarily have to be. He just gets into such an SUV better and has more storage space than in a limo. Basically, I’m interested in the driving characteristics. So not necessarily the more sporty but simply very balanced. Performance-wise, an XC90 D5 looks very weak. How is that in Altag? Significantly too slow? Passage? My father likes to drive more quickly. How do you see the two cars. X5 is just older, but unfortunately only comes to the dealer at the end of 2006. But if no leg break has already been targeted at that moment, the Volvo looks new and fresh. And also rarely, but you have to be interested in what your faults or something.

V40 sale
Hello municipality, after 14 1/2 years I want to sell my V40 1,9D (115 hp) but the car does not seem to be very popular on the market. A street dealer “buy all cars” did not register at all, another (fuel station with used car sale) said, “only German cars”, a third offered 800 euros. My car has 240.000 km, no oil loss, all inspections (also the 240er with timing belts), metallic paint, 8-fold tires, light metal rims, new TÜV (just so right through and without defects, without any preparation!). As defects there is a beginning rusting at the lower front fender (should be typical of the model), and the air conditioning is hit (cools still, but according to the workshop the pipes are defective). In an offer in mobile.de I fear massive unpleasant visit in this price class. How did you get rid of your old cars (if not by payment)?

UHV Premium rSAP, Auto Dist. Reg and Tempomat
Hello people, the rSAP operated rope shows the whole time “Voice Dial Error” with an OK button under it but the touchscreen does not react at all to enter. I did the coding on 0002320(default recommended by the VCDS) then it was called “bindugn interrupted” after locking and unlocking the central lock it seemed normal to go and was ready to make a verbing with the handy but until I got my mobile out of the pocket zehogen came back to the message as at the beginning described. Did anyone have this problem? Regarding the ACC and Tempomat, I ordered the log 2 months ago but still not received it so it can’t be that I insert these systems properly but I would like to hear your opinion about it. True the ride(with over 30 km/h) I still print on the tempomat but it always says “off” If I print the ACC this diagrame is not for the ACC configuration or I don’t have a combination instrument or I hope you have something to do here.

Does the ONLY lock on the driver’s side not work mechanically ?
Hello to all Volvo-Gurus 😉 So, that’s it. Now my question…Did I manage to open a few kilometers with a friend’s V70 (I) yesterday and turn off the car, why I forgot to turn off the inside light, I don’t know. . So..nun kommts..so we wanted to open the car today…GING NIX…all the two remote controls zero reaction. Door lock is only one on the driver’s side, Koffreraum is only a small flap but behind it (could) one could often install a lock…but was not a … Just a plastic cap that has hidden the hole and we could not remove or wanted to remove. With the two locks at the one lock (driver’s side) I could reach after several times back and forth also nix .. IS THE NORMAL ?? For what is there the lock there at all, if one does not want it at such an incident or in the winter to the Bsp. If the battery could say goodbye or use similar with the power supply, I can use the lock side?
