  • XC 90 D5 speed limiter ?

Hello guys, I was now east with my big guy decently on the road, now 5000km on it and I let him fly so properly – with geartronic unchiped and winter tyres at 4200 rpm according to tacho 195 , but was then close (actually far too fast for a moving high house). he slowed down and did not go downhill beyond this speed. can be that here the limiter uses quite soft, so no jerking and so only a slight brake can be felt. thank you in advance for your contributions. Gruss Thomas

  • Oil trap, oil pressure

Hello, I’ve been driving a Volvo S40 BJ 2001 for about 2 years with currently 115,000km and AT gear. A quite reliable car but since recently it doesn’t start so clean, sometimes turns a little longer until it starts up, feels somehow powerless. After it has lit it briefly clacks and then the clacking is immediately gone. Battery, LiMa and spark plugs are new. Then I wanted to travel and after a piece of uphill under fully lit the oil pressure lamp. To the right ran, car immediately turned off, 5 min. later continued and oil pressure lamp again. Called the breakdown service which has read out the fault memory, but stood only camshaft sensor, he meant nothing to do with it. Then I drove home and with the second car. After I was back I read here again and I got on the oil trap as a possible cause, since when the open oil filling plugs was available even at higher revolutions I didn’t have a vacuum. In addition, have formed deposits on the lid. Then I bought all the necessary parts and had to get rid of the old oil. Now I had to look at the oil trap and have a good taste?

  • Used S80 with long service life

Hello, at present I love it with a well-equipped S80 2.9 Geartronic from 2001, which makes a solid impression inside and outside, and – as far as I can judge this as a technical layman – despite almost 100tkm driving properly, even if the engine sounds a little tinkering. However, the vehicle has already been shut down since February 200_4_, i.e. for almost 1 1/2 years. The used car dealer does not know the reason. He allegedly received the S80 only two months ago in a package with other vehicles from a Volvo dealer. I called the previous owner registered in the letter. He confirmed the mileage of the S80 and told me to have sold the vehicle only for financial reasons February 2004 to a Vovlo dealer. Technical flaws are not known to him. To this extent everything seems to be in the green area. – Nevertheless, because of the long period of non-use of abdominal pain? My questions: 1. I need to be aware of the long time when the S80 was not registered and thus hardly moved to the technical problems. (professionally was not accepted as a vehicle or a bad thing.) I can not be sure about the same.

  • How much mah are running through the on-board network of our big ships?

Hello technician! Somewhere I could read how much milliampere resting current in our elks slumber – now I would be interested in how much it is, if the elks are awake or “under current”? After I have burned a walkman with power consumption 150mah over a power supply with 1000mah, I have become a bit careful about the things that I want to hang onto the board net. Specifically I mean the usual sockets or the light lines (reversible headlights). (Since I am a non-technician, I would like to see bad comments if I should have asked something “dumb” lG Richard

  • Stand-up heating no longer works

Moin together, have been having problems with the SH with my V70D5 MY2002 for a long time. It just doesn’t work anymore, despite enough diesel in the tank, full of battery and even standing area. At direct start, the display goes short on ON, after approx. 2 sec on off. Ok, at the current temperatures, that’s not so bad, but the winter is again at the door. Has anyone had similar problems? Greeting Tom

  • Is the purchase of an S60 even worth it?

Hello, I’ve been looking for something here to inform me about the S60. Since I might want to buy a S60 2.4. I’m sure there are more negative reports in Internet forums than positive ones, I’m already aware of that. Only what I have here so gelsen, starting with an ominous clacker which can be removed with glue, through throttle valves defective, bad automatic transmissions etc., leaves me almost the impression that a Volvo overall is perhaps not such a good choice. Although I could only collect very positive impressions during a test drive, which I made some time ago in the S60 D5. My idea goes towards S60 2.4 with no more than 40,000 km on the clock. So a Volvo S60 is really sooo mies, or is the impression, and I don’t need to worry about buying it.

  • XC90 V8 versus ML

Hello, here’s a brief statement to my comparison M-Class (previously ML 320 for 1 day) and XC 90 (mostly V8 for only hours). Worse on the XC 90: 1. He already clapped clearly (new car) and had a much worse suspension comfort than the but with Airmatic equipped ML. There seems to be an air suspension for the Volvo however. 2. The surround system (built therefore was the max. variant of the sound) brought a certain surround effect, but it was like 1 stereo channel from the front center, the other (and clearly overemphasized) from the rear center. I know with sound quite well and was disappointed. However, even with a better adjustment in balance/fading can still be improved there something? I found better at the XC90 (V8) to speak the door panels and the size/sicht area of the exterior mirrors. Also, the presence of a heated front disk and the better combinable (with Mercedes limited) double glazing is good for me too.

  • Engine went much slower!

Hello dear friends at MotorTalk! When I started the engine at -13° degrees tomorrow at 6:50 am, the engine was still on P and the engine was running very slowly. As if he had just hibernated. While driving I noticed that he didn’t give immediately what I gave by pedal. Everything was really slow, he didn’t want. OK, the engine of my V40 couldn’t do as it wanted because it was very cold. I don’t know it so, but after many minutes it ran as always. You just have to give him a lot of time! Battery charging every month is important!

  • Failure of headlamps during driving

Hello, with my Volvo both headlights fall sporadically during the ride. If I then hit the dashboard / light switch from below with my hand, they turn on again. I already changed the light switch, however, there was no improvement. If I turn the light on and off at the switch, it goes again. Sometimes, however, only with more attempts. If I travel faster on the highway at night and then suddenly the light runs out, my heart slips into my pants every time, because absolute blind flight. Unfortunately, I could not stop until now and see if the rear lights don’t go. Did this problem ever have anyone? I am really perplexed. My Volvo is a S40 year 2002, 1.8 B4184S2 Dear greetings and thank you already for any answers.

  • Question about the B&W sound system

Hello dear colleagues, the B&W sound system has been my XC 90 for almost 2 weeks now and I’m almost completely enthusiastic about the moose. No matter what sound experience I set up, or however I move the bass or subwoofer control. Either it’s horny (which I don’t mean you can feel the bass in the seat here) or totally thin. Have I ever put myself in the trunk and try to feel whether the bass is produced here. But either the subwoofer was forgotten or it doesn’t work properly? Does anyone have similar experiences here? Had an A6 with a standard LS system for a week before elk collection, but this system was full-bodied in control center position. And yes, there was only thanks to DAB or via Bluetooth music. Couldn’t be that at 1000 watts plus and over 3000 extras a Gedön source came out with this in advance. Besides Sony’s own sound in front of the edge.
