  • Life of a V70 built in 1997

    Hello Swedesgemeinschaft, I once had a240 and would now like to put a V70 2.5 combo with 144 hp from 1997, which I have already drawn into the closer selection.   • Purchase advice: Summer tire 225/50 R 17 for S80 2.5T AWD

    I’m not happy with the S80 2.5T AWD (photos are still coming) and now there are new summer tyres in the dimension 225/50 R 17 due. I used to drive on an Audi A4 quattro Bridgestone RE050A. I was actually very satisfied with that, only the wear was rather high. However, because I drive hardly more than 6-8’000 km per summer, I can live with it. However, I don’t know if the Bridgestone harmonizes well with the S80. Since I am also often on curvy routes and passes on, good curve behaviour and for the emergency a short braking path are important to me, especially in wet weather, if you have any less reserves. The tyre should also be somewhat quiet, other characteristics (roll resistance, consumption, etc.) do not give me a big part?

  • Level shutdown when flat tires

    Hello together, I had my error memory read out today because sporadically the exhaust lamp lights up. Within a week this was now about 2 times the case, whereby it was gone again after a day. Now the error message: P1018 suction tube / load motion flap 2 lower stop not reached What does this mean? The workshop where I always had my cars made could only read the error memory. This error can apparently only fix VW. I made today already an appointment for Friday but I would like to know what comes to me.   • [Project] Solar ventilation deactivable via menu

    Hello, I don’t like the whole pre-plan and circuit diagrams that show that the solar aeration circuit is a closed circuit when ignited. There are already a few solutions to deactivate the solar aeration REALLY, but they are all not worthy of Phaeton. (Nothing against cable ties in general 😉 ) My idea is this: In the AC menu, take off the item “solar aeration” via Can Bus, send this signal via an Arduino with Canbus Shield, which then controls a bistable relay in the current circuit solar cells – fan motor. Bistable because it is supposed to keep off the ignition and thus voltage off the relay, a normal relay always needs a control current to stay switched and at rest current we already have enough in the car. Now, however, someone has to help me with the canbus. Where can I take off the comfort can? On the OBD plug obviously not? And what ID does the point “solar aeration” have to remain and on the calm current? And is the menu point even finished in the car?

I have the AutoDia K509 of CarPort and the version 2.2.18 of the software with the Pro modules CAN and KKL and think that I can deal with it in principle. However, this control unit does not have my car and in the comfort module, in which I would suspect these functions, there is no indication. So there has to be another variant, which I find nowhere else. Furthermore, for example the footroom lighting: should it be STG 09 board network, byte 20. In my control unit (which by the way is called “electric central electric) there is only 15 byte as well as there are the mentioned channels for the brightness do not exist.   • Utilizing the spare wheel pit

    Hello, from next week I am also proud owner of a 2013 V6 FSI long. I noticed today that he doesn’t have a complete spare wheel but only the breakdown set on board. This is in a powerful foam thing together with a trailer coupling that fills the trough virtually completely. Is there a reason not to rebuild it and let the space benefit the trunk? That’s always quite a lot of volume which I could use for longer tours with the family well. Maybe there’s already a solution for that.

  • Some error messages during diagnosis

    Hello. Maybe someone can help me with the following errors in the diagnosis and possibly give tips. (see pictures) The date is not correct with the errors, it is mostly about errors that occurred in 2018. I don’t know why the year is given here with 2002. The only error that occurred after the deletion and test drive is in the light range regulation. All the others have not occurred any more. To my driving profile: I drove almost exclusively short distance in the last half year, so I urgently need to get on the track to get into a DPF regeneration.
