Hello Volvo friends I’m about to make my debut – have 1 single little problem, which I can’t cope with… To the background : I bought a 2001 phase II V40 T4, whose engine was wide… And a 1999’s V40 T4 Phase I, whose engine top and its threshold are finished… I then folded out of phase II the engine – 2 hours and the thing was eaten… The engine from the 99’er then inserted into the 01’er, everything looks good… Except for one! The cluttered camshaft sensor ! Both have different plugs – and now I’m looking for how I can use the current flow diagrams of the two versions, to connect the 3 ridiculous 0.8 mm2 drums in the correct occupancy with the different color coded wires again… Well … the small maleur with the drive waves… is perhaps not a big act, rather a ballance act of the fingers – and then the elk can help me there again? Or does the camshaft sensor of the phase I have to look at the other phase?

TPMS reset/learning
Hello, my TPMS system has been bugging me for a few weeks with warnings that don’t go away permanently even after recalibration. Since the car is now 7 years old, I suspect that the batteries in the sensors have left the mind. To verify this diagnosis I wanted to read out the fault memory with my newly acquired diagnostic device from iCarSoft, except for some generic messages that could not be clearly assigned, but found no TPMS-specific message, no TPMS module is detected during the analysis. The TPMS maintenance function, which supports the device for some brands, is not generally available for Volvo. Now I wonder if Volvo has not ‘opened’ the TPMS module in general, so that a sensor change could only take place from an authorized Volvo workshop using VIDA or is my OBD device just not sufficiently compatible with Volvo? I can’t imagine that Volvo is asking for virtually all tyre services to register for VIDA, so that a sensor change could only be done by an authorized Volvo factory using VIDA or my OBD device is just not sufficiently compatible with Volvo.

Wi-Fi hotspot
N’Evening together! with my V40 the WLAN hotspot works, so the connection of Sensus to a telephone hotspot no more (I don’t have a Volvo On Call, there’s no modem installed in the vehicle). So far the two have already connected, but the apps (so if you press the globe) have been charged forever. Yesterday I then let the RTTI update be played up, since then I can’t get into the Internet. The hotspot is recognized, connects itself also (WLAN bars are visible), but these rotating arrows spin forever and the apps don’t charge. After a few minutes comes the hint that I should check my Internet settings. Other devices can easily connect to the phone (is an iPhone SE), Internet on the phone itself also works error-free. I guess it’s on the car.. Network settings I’ve already reset, password changed, newly connected in the Sensus, all tried.. The phone is mostly located in the central console or on the passenger seat.. Does anyone know advice? Thanks and many greetings!

Installing 3G WLAN routers
I think about installing a 3G WLAN router. I can then: – Internet, mail, chat, YouTube, access to the house autimation, pool metering system etc. in the car (Netbook, iPhone, PSP etc. via WLAN) – Communication via WLAN e.g. to a colleague who drives afterwards. – Access to the vehicle from the computer at home (if it is in the garage) e.g. music movies etc. on a popcorn hour (installed in the vehicle) update e.g. pushers put live into the network … e.g. Wems fun: webcam in the car (also via DynDNS from the Internet possible (if the vehicle is standing) e.g. remote access to Netbook connected with diagnostic software on the Phaeton (for technical freaks) – in the car access to music and movies on the Popcorn Hour (eg. PSP via WLAN) – theft assurance is clearly reduced. As long as they can’t be noticed you can access the vehicle via webcam ev. built-in GPS (until remote control can’t all be possible because the antenna doesn’t have a bit of radiation.

Merry Christmas
I wish all VW drivers and us Phaetonauten in particular, a Merry Christmas! All the time good ride and may the wolf never leave you. Besides, I would like to thank my parents at this point for this extra pre-Christmas joy! (Thank you, unknown way, also to the car dealership Piltz in Vienna for the bullets that are so not available in the trade).

Shock absorber VA complete.
A good day in the round, would like to change both sides of the VA feather legs completely with the Elchle. Thanks to Haynes, the forum and the Internet I believe I am already well informed. Now there are still some questions or uncertainties arising from the information material, it needs to stretch after an answer and all search functions did not use anything.Do you have to have a punch screwdriver, to solve the old spring leg / shock absorber? Or is it enough lubricant and hearty breakfast? According to Heynes citiere:10. On all models except later (2000-on) Sport or dynamic models, the reference hole in the upper spring seat holes are properly aligned with the three bolts on the strut lower spring seat. 11. On 2000-on Sport or Dynamic models, the reference hole in the upper spring seat should be removed from my head.

Motor damage Santa Fe CRDi
Hello, last week I went through the engine with my 5 year old Santa Fe CRDi. He couldn’t be turned off any more and turned very high until he finally went out. Diagnosis of my workshop: Bad diesel over the year. Injection nozzles have added and then sprayed uncontrollably, which led to the passing. In addition, it is a reimport which was actually intended for France/Luxembourg. Damage 4600 euros. Only the injection nozzles cost 1600.. I then picked up the car repaired and after about 20 min. exactly the same again. Engine turns high, huge white smoke cloud, ignition out but engine runs on. But this time the damage is probably not quite so great. Has someone experience with such a thing and who is liable for the second damage? Thank you very much.

Require the 5 years of maintenance included
Hello MotorTalk municipality, I have before me to buy a Hyundai i30, which there is at the moment in the attractive Fifa World Cup offer. After I have seen that the additional package with seat heating etc already for me does not justify any improvements the 880€, I am now thinking about whether I should take the 5 years maintenance with me or not. Should I not take the maintenance the dealer goes down 2000€ in price. That would be 400€ per inspection with 5 maintenances. That’s not even how much my buddy pays BMW for an inspection. Moreover, if that were 400€ per year, I could get financed “free” or put the money on the bench. Are you there my opinion or did I miss something? Thank you for your answers Kelvin101

Hyundai Getz Fire in the engine compartment
Hello, yesterday at 17:45h it popped up in the carport in front of my terraced house. A look from the kitchen window did not bring any enlightenment, so I opened the front door and could not believe it. Smoke came hissing bonnet and windshield up and under the car I could see a small fire – so no bonfire under the car, but flame light on the pavement. – While my wife called the FF, I grabbed the shclüssel and pushed the car away from the house, took the hose and extinguished first from below, then I opened the bonnet and specifically extinguished the burning part from above. When the FF arrived it was all over, but the guys also wanted to keep their fun and kept it in with my garden hose. At this point a thank to all volunteers!!!! What burned I can not say yet- the FF didn’t know the part either. Tomorrow a expert arrives, then I will report. The car was already 90 min., so at an outside temp. of 5°C it should be cooled off by now. F external consumers were not old.
