  • A new one had to come

Good evening Elk friends, I had to separate myself from my V70 thanks to a motor damage. I had become so accustomed to the car that I had to buy a new one. After a short search with a small budget it became a V70I 2.5 Metropolitan this time. The car stand at a used car dealer with the following defects: ABS and TRACS light permanently on. Felx tube from the CAT defective. The ABS/Tracs problem I partly fixed with the soldering of the contacts, however, both still does not work although the self-check runs without error. I will take over the flex tube from the old Volvo or. I will take over the whole exhaust system, because the sound so great Furthermore, if the speed indicator falls off when I make a full brake, it will not show me any data about consumption or similar. I don’t know how I will deal with this problem yet. I probably have read that the ABS problem and the Tacho failure should be related and it should be the ABS sensors, but I’m not sure.

  • Volvo 850 goes out. Don’t start

Hello dear Schraubergemeinde Volvo 850 Kombi 2.0l 126PS 93kW Built 04.1996 Gasoline I drove out of the place and, as usual, let it roll down 1km. The engine went off, let itself start again after a few minutes. 5km to the purchase, half way back to the garden (where it is still standing), then he didn’t want to. The engine came up 3x for a second, then only the starter came to the click. Had I earlier with my 9er, the mechanic, which unfortunately no longer exists, changed a relay and was good. Where can I find the relay? The engine did not make a bitch until now. Sludge flushing/oil change/ Liqui Moly 1005 oil loss stop, last week. Who can help me and thank me in advance.

  • Fuel pump lifetime?

Hello together As individuals may have read, I have re-examined my 850s again and with the help of @Zug_Spitzer also got the cruise control back in motion. So now everything is ready to drive in one week to the south of France. But now I have a question about the petrol pump. A friend of mine stayed last year on the holiday drive with a defective petrol pump. He drives a V70I T5, MJ I don’t know. In addition, the screwdriver, who prepared my 850s, told me that this was a relatively common damage. just in the area of my running performance (330Tkm). But here in the forum I have read more about defective relays than about defective pumps. How does this look like with the petrol pump itself? by the way, he has pushed a used spare pump into my hand for the holiday ride. For all cases. And also showed me how to replace the part. Doesn’t seem to be such a witchcraft. However, I’m not being in a screw. It seems to be the opening of the big ring to me. But I had to say something about the big twist. I had to say that I didn’t have to say something about it.

  • temporary failure of a Xenon headlamp

Moin, last Friday my left xenon headlight became dark for the first time. Was really off and only the re still burned. After setting off the engine and starting again was until just calm. Now it is out again. After the light off and turn on it went again. However, the joy did not last long. I can’t quite understand when it falls off. Before I now roll into the workshop and the headlight there does not fail I wanted to ask if someone knows the problem and in the ideal case maybe also has a solution ready. Already annoying if you are constantly dependent on the elk and its cargo space and it is now morning and evening or already dark. By the way, it’s about an XC70 D5 EZ 2009 with now 213,000 km. Greeting Thomas

  • Do I order my V60 CC with assistance package or not?

As achon has announced several times in various contributions, I will now finally order a V60 CC D4 AWD GT. With Kinetic equipment, 17″, business package, light package, AHK and a few small things and definitely without front disc heating. bIs here I have no need for advice, because I also had achon a V60 and various other Volvos. Since I commute 130 km every day, I am considering whether I will take the assistance package this time. Especially in winter this could be relaxing. AHCB, ACC would do well. Apart from the various emergency braking equipment. Also with caravans ACC should be quite nice I try to talk about this, what do you think? AHCB brings something in the city and on the AB?

  • Kaufberatung V70 III D5 AWD Summum

Hello together, I need your advice … Ride a v70 II 2.4t LPG from 2002, which I would like to “change” into an AWD. Now a representative -V70 III from 2012 as 215PS D5AWD came under my eyes with absolutely full hut, but he has already run 180000 km. Most important feature for me,if I already invest: distance control tempomat and AWD. And n bit of performance The car looks great on the pictures,is stock-heeled and recently got the tooth strap new, which I find good in itself 😛 The fun should cost almost 1800€ ,but without guarantee, because of the “high” KM… Only the two front matures have to be new and a few scratches are probably present, which does not bother me… My question: Is the engine for 60,000km per anno older,if it has been kept up regularly? He will certainly have kicked it,as I know the representatives,if they have it rushed … If the price was less reasonable, but the price was not too high for me.

  • Turbo or compressor conversion?

Hope this topic has not been chewed through here 100 times, but I am interested in the pros and cons of a turbo- to a compressor conversion in the V6 regarding price, durability, consumption and driving behaviour. Can one actually regulate the charging pressure of a compressor even during the ride from the interior as is possible with the turbo (steam wheel) Does anyone else know other tuners besides HGP and SLS, which perform such modifications with experience? I am grateful for every answer. Mfg Condi

  • Change camshaft adjustment wheel yourself What is required?

Hello, we just got a V40 Bj 07 / 2000 offered with which the camshaft adjustment wheel makes noise. My husband is a car mechanic at Opel and could even borrow special tools from a motor repairer here in town but we don’t know exactly what we need to replace. Timing belts is clear but Volvo confused me a bit on the phone yesterday. There they told me that the following parts had to be renewed: camshaft adjustment wheel & camshaft adjuster, a rather expensive senso and of course the timing belt. Who can bring some light into the dark here and possibly know the prices of the spare parts? Lg Nathalie

  • Just which one, V70 or XC70?

Ahoi to everyone. In March my leasing runs out. Now the question arises what should come after it. At the moment I drive a V60 summum D4 automatic with almost all the extras very satisfied. The only thing that always bothers me is the small trunk. Then I was wrong about it. So now the big brother is supposed to go into the house. Even though I had already pushed on the successor V90. But that probably still lasts. My dealer also makes fine offers, because the successor is already somehow in the starting holes. But what would you recommend? Will a V70 be enough again with the D4 and automatic or should I reach for an XC 70. What does it bring me? Through the terrain I don’t have to, AWD I don’t need. He doesn’t have more space. Does he drive more comfortable due to the higher wheelbase or should I even think about an XC60 at the end?

  • Purchase advice V70 New/Annual Wgen D4 or T5

Hello all, I am currently before the difficult decision between the VEA Benziner T5 and the VEA Diesel D4. We drive only about 10-12Tkm per year, either extreme short distance (2-3 km to the school of the children and at work) or real long distance (holidays, family visits). We have problems with the current Zafira Diesel (AGR trust), but I can fix it myself. We want to go back to Volvo and have decided on the V70. Rather I have decided. My wife is more for the Superb 😉 The problem is, for the T5 there is almost no used or annual car. The offer for the D4 is quite good. Due to the problems with our driving profile so far I tend to a new EU car with T5 engine, even if the approx. 42TEUR (Summum + a lot of Schnickschnack) costs me instead of approx. 34TEUR for a D4 year car. Has someone experiences with the D4 and a lot of short distance and can help with the decision? Thank you and many gresses, Sachsentolz
