  • Alarm system general / GPS alarm system without vestrag binding

Hi, I’m looking for an alarm system that is also suitable for old vehicles – unfortunately I haven’t found anything useful yet. I prefer: – GPS Tracker without contract binding – possibility to connect max 10 additional sensors (magent contacts e.g.) – with alarm call on 3 possible destination numbers I searched / Googled etc, but found nothing useful – did you find something useful? Disadvantage of GPS-supported systems (CARLOCK e.g.): most go to de n CAN BUS / diagnostic connection etc. -> did my old Ducato nich 😉 and I have only found providers with contract binding -> since now almost everyone has a 2t/partner/ twin card this is nonsense, I would like to pay only once for a device there are fixed systems, but are rather designed for fixed house use and thus either in reliability or even power consumption not suitable. E.g. this Olympia Protect would not be bad – but is obviously not reliable. R andbemerkung: I have seen and registered the existing tröts / physical protection from electronic / no, I don’t want to bother the parking lot with a hell sirene;-)

  • Permanent plus trailer coupling 3-piece BMW

Hello in the forum, would like to join me as a camper with WW with a 3-piece BMW Bj. 2011 with trailer coupling. Question: is it right that BMW will automatically shut down the 12 V DC Dauerplus after 10 minutes when the ignition key is deducted? Wouldn’t it be ideal if I stayed with the car on the motorway or in a parking lot once? Does anyone have experience or a solution? With my Daimler the topic of Dauerplus is no problem, because a 100 Ah strong battery has no problems if it provides the power for the WW for some lighting, radio, toilet and faucet for one or two nights. BMW wants to prevent the discharge of the battery, but I have installed an E-module in the WW which switches off the battery voltage (duration plus) when the battery falls below 11.5 V DC. With friendly camper greetings The JeverPilz

  • Connection Starter battery in the camper – does not work

Hello, I have a small problem in my (self-developed) camper. I have installed a Votronic VBCS Triple (30/20/250) in the vehicle. So far I have charged the battery via shore current. Now I wanted to use the option of charging via the starter battery installed in the vehicle (my transit has only 1 battery, no additional battery). I have connected the necessary cable to the starter battery on + and the other end to the VBCS Triple into the 12 V start input. In addition, a D+ signal is needed. Since the transit does not deliver any more and I wanted to save myself the purchase of the Votronic D+ Simulator, I have installed a switch. So a second cable from the + starter battery via the switch into the D+ input of the VBCS Triple. I hope I could explain this so far intelligibly. I have now at the cable ends, which go into the VBCS Triple, the voltage measured and at both ends of the cable are about 12 V, I put the cables into the VBCS Triple. However, this one does not charge. The B2B lamp is off. Otherwise, no more lamps light up, except the solar light every 5 seconds, which is the normal state. I have no idea where I might have done something wrong here. Does anyone have an idea?

  • more driving time from October 2011

This has become time !!! … not that you think now 4:30 h without interruption – or 9 hours or 2 times a week 10 hours may be exceeded. But: The latest changes to the legal regulations on the use of tachographs in the European Union will come into force from October 2011. The main focus of the legislative changes is on the identification of important issues with which users in the industry are confronted. The most immediate impact on Transpor “If, at any time within the minute immediately preceding the calendar minute and following minute, the activity is registered, the entire minute is considered as LENK time. ” n, including 255 company-specific data locks instead of the previous 20, the possibility of having to enter the VRN only once in the operating mode “company” as well as improved conditions for manual input will welcome most transport companies the new legislation. That means in practice, one can also drive away from the ramp to close the doors – without this being considered as driving time – or interruption of the working time. One can during the rest time 5 meters to let a colleague through – without interrupting the rest time. However, the firmware of the digital control unit must be updated. click here

  • M 814 battery

Hello people At our fire brigade, the M 814 D BJ 1997 is one of the two batteries after 3 years and almost 3 months defective, the battery voltage collapses when starting. Warranty is unfortunately only 2 years. At that time 23.4.2008 two Varta F6 90Ah 720 Code 590 122 072 were installed. I will now replace both batteries, or is that unnecessary. What is your opinion? Is there a battery manufacturer that offers a longer warranty? Are there special chargers that provide a vehicle battery in “Training “Stop?” Viktor

  • Hack: Ignition setting on the camshaft instead of the crankshaft

Since I ask you “dumb” questions here in the forum and hope for help/feedback, I would also like to share my experiences, which may help other users further… In the engine compartment of my Seven a Sierra OHC engine with carburetor is rolled out. “By the book” you set the ignition on such an engine based on the notches on the crankshaft. However, here I have a problem: – there are only three more notches next to the TDC-Kerbe, so that I use the notches n – The cooler and fan is so close to the engine that with a little effort the pen and notches can still light up with the ignition gun. However, it is impossible to get to the belt disc in order to attach further notches or even edding markings there. To do this, the motor has to get out. I can set the usual 10 degrees before OT at static ignition with the setup, but for example the test of the OT-Wink It’s possible to forget about the current gas with a connected low-pressure socket and/or the centrifugal force adjustment with increasing speed. For this reason I came up with the idea to read the OT angle on the camshaft wheel instead of the crankshaft. I get there playing in my engine compartment. However, there is one disadvantage here: the camshaft (at least the Ford OHC) only rotates half the speed of the crankshaft… So I have to have the OT angle scale on the camshaft wheel 2x and because of the half-speed, 2 degrees of displacement on the crankshaft mean only one degree of displacement on the camshaft. The scale is therefore only half as large/precise as the measurement on the crankshaft. But if you get there bad or not at all, that is at least better than nothing. Solution: I printed a scale with Powerpoint. There you can pull a line and then turn it around a defined degree number. On the head cover have ic h mounted an aluminium strip with a tip and then turned the motor 2x PRECISE to the OT point of the crankshaft. At these two zero points I then glued 2x a scale on the camshaft, each offset by the above-mentioned 180 degrees. See pictures. I then only have to turn the crankshaft once exactly to the OT/TDC point for each measurement to make sure that the pin has not bent. After that, the measurement can be done with the ignition gun on the scale of the camshaft vo I hope this might help the one or the other who has a problem similar to that of me…

  • Ford Model A

Hello together. My name is Thomas, am bj 83 and I come from the district of Augsburg. I have got in my mind to buy a vintage car again, because I made the mistake a few years ago to sell my oldi at that time, and I bite myself again and again in the very best. I want to make one, with which one can also for trips with wife and a child 7 years old, with which one can make. Currently I have shot myself on a Ford Model A. From the body shape would me a roadster or convertible What I found out, the front have a continuous bench. would you have three seats there? I know there is the mother-in-law seat. I think, however, if Mrs. odrr was in there, it wouldn’t be really safe and comfortable to drive. Or is it a Tudor or fordor Sedan the better choice after all?

  • How reliable are the CO2 tests for the cooling circuit (e.g. RELD)

Hello all, have here an Alfa 33, which has a bit of coolant loss (about 250ml on 500km). I have the car now after almost 16 years standing very carefully over 500 km again “began in” The car had a problem because the radiator fan was wrongly wired and pulled only warm air out of the engine compartment. So it can quite be that the right cylinder group has become very hot times, because it did not get fresh air. CO2 test bought and see it turns green, which suggests CO2 in the cooling circuit. It is not an emulsion in the oil, the oil cover is clean and there are no white clouds coming out of the exhaust, so I would almost exclude the ZKD. Can the CO2 come into the cooling circuit by other means? How reliable are such tests?
