  • XC90 rattles

    My XC90 clatters That’s not even so unusual in itself!? But now it comes: it clatters even when I’m not in the vehicle I’m in the XC90 clatters it. If I walk away from my XC90, I still hear the rattles!?! And before stupid sayings come: no, it’s not up to me! If I’m on the road with my wife’s car, I don’t have it.

  • Explosion Glass sliding roof Volvo XC70

    Dear readers! On 05/03 I got the shock of my life. I drove at a speed of approx. 120 kmh from the A61 to the A4 ri. Aachen and shortly before the exit Kerpen the glass from the sliding roof jumped out of each other with a huge bang. Thousands of glass splinters came into the car and just so many ended up by the pressure over the roof at the back of the highway. I had the car well under control and except the horror is no further accident passie rt – which could have been unpacked in such a situation I immediately (exit came after about 1 km) drove out at Kerpen and kept at the best possible position (Aral Tanke). I then called the Volvo Assistance and described the situation. The lady on the phone then sent me to the nearest Volvo car dealership, only a few hundred meters away. Here I was received very friendly and I got a cup of coffee to calm down. The first reaction of the Meisters on the farm (the exact same as later from his own master here in Stuttgart) was that it was ”probably” a voltage error. After the car dealership called the Volvo headquarters in Cologne to get a clearance for the repair and for a replacement car, I was told that Volvo Germany initially rejected every responsibility and a direct damage/cost assumption. An ”internal damage report” should be set up and then one would be asked about this. It was difficult because 3/4 of the glass roof was gone. On closer inspection I had to find out that the glass splinters which jumped outwards had scratched the paint from the roof strongly and a new paintwork is necessary. Also a spare car was not in for me. To the info: I was on my way to an important business meeting in Belgium and had planned the whole week further dates in Benelux…! Reason: Because I did not get to be towed away but the 300 m tr. from the Aral petrol station to the Volvo workshop – in the middle of the glass shaves – the Volvo Assistance does not grip!! This did not mention the nice lady on the phone, however, where she left me the choice to drive myself or to let the towing service come. For me it was important to organize and solve the matter as practical and as fast as possible. So, now but the main problem (after having my own insurance/protection letter after five (!) hours en However, this is not a guarantee condition and not on a legal basis. Reason: This damage ”could” be caused by a rockfall and a design defect is not detectable. For me, the question now is whether this damage is caused by an ext – How can it happen that in one of the world’s safest cars – surrounded by numerous airbags – you can be covered with thousands of glass fragments and where the consequences could have been catasrophal. Why is the sunroof not made of laminated glass like front and side windows? One should bear in mind: Volvo considers the possibility of a rockfall at this point to be plausible and leaning at this point. Then this means a life-threatening weakness in the car. Why does Volvo, after having explained the situation to my own Volvo dealer – Schwabengarage Stuttgart – as a loyal customer (I had to seriously buy the new XC70 in December) so stubbornly?! The damage -about 500 euros for the new sunroof and approx. 800 euros for painting work – is in my opinion in no way an explanation for the loss of a customer and the negative publ However, I expect a certain service and warranty even in bad times and I only want to get paid the actual costs incurred. It does not look like something positive will happen after the last official statement of Volvo Germany. I will have to take over the costs myself (Schiebelach via Teilkasko with excess, painting costs are worth it). I would like to see your reaction to this case. Has anyone ever heard of such a case, maybe there are still possibilities for a solution?! I still have to check if I have a manufacturer warranty. The accident happened 3 days (!) before I had bought the car as a new car two years ago. Kilometer level approx. 98.000.     Hi guys, today something particularly stupid happened to me. I did not really have anything in the bad, sometimes the nuts try to pull after the cracker. It came as it had to come straight away the first mother from the standing bolt on the engine block is torn off. I then did not touch the others. What do you think this also holds or should one possibly put a sweatpunk? The bolt is flush to the cracker.     Hello I have already reported here because the footroom gets wet at the passenger side. Did also really find an aquarium at the fan box. This is now sqauber and empty. but if I drive through the washing system or there is strong rain the footroom is still wet (only very little but wet) Does anyone know advice?

  • Climate cools only in position “LO”

    Hello, as the title already says, my climate cools only when I choose the position “LO” in the display. As soon as I put even a degree higher, so on “16”, comes immediately warm air and the air conditioning shuts off. Even if it is as now brooding hot in the car.   • Volvo 850 Handbrake solves badly and bangs 2x after driving off…

    Moin, I’ve been having an annoying problem for some time now that the handbrake (in the meantime every time) does not resolve, if the Volvo, no matter how long and in what weather, has been switched off with the handbrake tightened. If I loosen the handbrake lever and start before starting, you notice the light pull of the brake, but you don’t hear any grinding. If I then pull on the handbrake lever again during the ride to solve it, it bangs 2 times and the brake is obviously solved. At first only sporadically appeared and then at some point permanently. During a workshop visit I pointed out this and the hand brake has been cleaned and reworked. The improvement effect lasted a few days and then became a permanent problem again. At the HU a month ago I pointed out the workshop again. Again it has been cleaned and reworked. This time without any improvement effect, but with an additional whistle after the 2 times banging ( I guess the handbrake needs to be renewed. What do you think about it?… A second problem, also for a long time, could possibly be related to it. I can sometimes notice a rhytmic, dull, quiet grinding noise that comes from the front of the passenger side. Rhytmic, because between the sounds is always a short break and the loop. If frequency increases with increasing speed. Even at slow speed in urban traffic, the noise in the interior is very low. If the window is open, the noise will NOT be better audible. In order to stay on the topic of “doof search”, I would describe it loudly as “wupp, wupp, wupp, …”… Because the noise is amplified while cornering, I spontaneously tapped the wheel bearing. However, it strengthens both at right and left turns. Ic h had already a defective wheel bearing a few years ago in the older 850s. However, that sounded completely different.   • window driver side remains down – really urgent –

    hello together !!!! first of all sorry…have really spent an hour with the SuFu…but apparently I’m really too stupid…. my previous contribution (additional side without electricity at cold…) is unfortunately still up to date, and for financial reasons first on ice…. but now to my current urgent problem: I’m going home…park my v700II…and my driver window had opened a gap (yes, I’m a smoker…) will close the window when my engine is running… .what happens ? the first attempt is often the case….the protection function activates, and the window goes about 10 down and stops (this happens often, since I always have this “wind protection” on all doors..and the last 10 cm heavier….) the second attempt ended with the fact that I raised the fh switch completely (2nd stage=protection set outside force)….what happened ???? the window goes up first (until about 5-10cm before “stroke” to drive down completely…and…es g no longer high !!!!!!
