Happy new year, I am currently looking for a Mercedes SLK R171 to 1000€. The vehicle is supposed to be a kind of “Sunday car”, i.e. not much is driven. On mobile/autoscout you will already find beautiful models for this amount, but understandable with high mileage. Since this model is already 15-17 years old (in this price category), what must be taken into account. Is there a kind of “Great Service” with components, which at this age / run performance For me it is important, First of all: checkbook maintained, TÜV new, car dealership for 1 guarantee, not tinkered (original parts), 1-2 previous owners Secondary:Automatic, Air Scarf. Anyone else a few tips ready? (Are these models rust prone?) What do I have to focus on during the inspection / test drive? Thank you in advance.

I say goodbye to the S60 2 forum
Dear community, I would like to say goodbye to the S60 II Forum, as I bought a new S60 3 this week (it is not yet there) I would like to thank you again for the many help and suggestions. I am not yet sure if I will hand over my seasoned 5 Ender Mj 2013 for 6000 Euro to the dealer. At the next TÜV in 2016 only the headlights have to be new at the front. We will surely see us again soon in the next forum. Have fun further!

Frame Standlight sits bomb-proof
Hello to the round, I have been trying for days without the least success to get the version of the stand light bulb out. The solution from the operating manual does not work. I have now concerns that with even stronger pull on the thin cables these tear off. In order not to have to pull on the cables, I also tried the use of a snapped needle tong on the frame. As written, the frame is glued in. Of course, I press the lock additionally to the side, just as it is shown in a Youtube video. Vehicle: XC 70 II 2009, Headlight type:ABL, Xenon with curved light. Does anyone have an idea here in the round of experienced people (except to drive to the friendly)? Thank you in advance.

Rolo and his “unkaputtbaren XC90” – the continuation of history
Dear “Elchgemeinde” (a farewell speech with a new beginning) ! Those who have followed my contributions a little, know that I think our XC90 is so to speak unchaputtbar and that our moose has been reliably spreading driving pleasure for almost NEW years. It looks like new (we say almost like new) and throughout the whole time there were, except inspections, only workshop visits to the tire change, to the TÜV, once the instrument had to be exchanged and once someone smashed me the bumper. In addition, my better half five years ago in the parking garage on a pillar scratched the driver’s door and since then it said: “We don’t need such a big car! – What is basically true, because we are now pensioners. But which “smaller” successor car is suitable for someone who drives an unchaputtable Volvo XC90? When the XC60 came out, I thought, now eats so far, that is the “smaller” successor car for our “big”. But thought. t my loved one said: “This is not much smaller – we should buy a Qashqai! Because her golf friend has a Qashqai+2 in whose trunk our 2 golf bags plus 2 golf trolleys would fit in – unlike in the Tiguan or X1 or Q3 or GLK – because they are all too scarce. And the trunk is a k.o.-criterium for us. So we decided four years ago to take the following step: As soon as the oldie XC90 shows the first flaws, he gets away and we get a Qashq ai+2. But our XC90 didn’t get any cocks, he remained unchaputtbar and I remained loyal to him until about 3 weeks ago. Then it was time. Then this Southeast European contemporary in the Aldi car park spoke to me: “Beautiful car you have – what does it cost?” He gave me his card and said: “I’ll call you tomorrow. I called my Volvo friend, I just wanted to know what I could achieve for the XC90. If I would buy an XC60, he wanted to give me 11,000.00 euros. And I should take into account that a set of new tyres is due, that the timing belt has to be replaced shortly, that the rear hubs and the track bars are no more effective, that an inspection is pending and the TÜV is due. And after all, the right door is painted and a new bumper on it. I calculated briefly and knew, if I do not sell now, I have cost in the foreseeable future of about two thousand beeps. I browsed again briefly on the Internet and noted 11 .000,– would be a decent price. Well – I think, should the South East European come back, I go once with 13,000,- as a negotiating base in the deal. After a few days the call came and then he stood with a transporter with trailer at our door and waved with a envelope full of bills: “Everything real euro. Can you get checked at the bank. We went to the savings bank, the money was real. There were fourteen thousand and five hundred euros in the envelope. I swallowed briefly, fetch The man bought cars “on order,” as he said, and at the moment he was looking for Volvos: “XC90 nothing broken,” he said, “well asked in the east.” I was still driving to the registration office, we signed off my moose together. That was a good 2 weeks ago. I guess my moose is somewhere in the Orient by now. And my loved one said, “Now we buy a Qashqai+2.” the comb, we just had to drive a few days with the Suzuki Splash my wife to golf. No, the story goes quite differently! It was fast no Qashqai to get at all. 6 months delivery time on the car, as I would have wanted it. My Volvo dealer , who sold Land Rover at the same time, had an idea: „Take the Range Rover Evoque ! We even did a test drive, but it didn’t matter, because the trunk was too short for our golf harness. Now please don’t show me “a bird” because we choose a car for golf harness! “What kind of car is this?” asked my wife and pointed to a compact SUV with a sleek design and dark panoramic roof that stood in the parking lot of the petrol station next to the Volvo dealer. It was a KIA – model Sportage 136 hp diesel. The owner sti We loaded our golf luggage and our trolleys into the trunk of the Kia – well, everything went well, not even the rear seats had to be folded. We sat in the car, my wife was thrilled – I was rather skeptical: “KIA ?” (again: “KIA ???”) “If you take a sport, said the happy-looking Kia driver, “then they better take the diesel with 184 hp engine, which exists since the beginning of October. It is built in the beginning of October. In the evening I went to the motor talk forum and clicked through the KIA topics. But for the 184 HP High Power Diesel there were hardly any experiences, only various orders with 6 months delivery time and more. But I found on the internet a dealer who had one in the showroom – not 30 KM away from home. The next day we were at the KIA dealer. There he stood, 445 cm long, 185 cm bre it, white, 18 inches on it, dark panoramic roof, leather seats, AWD automatic, rear-view camera, warning beep, xenon, LED daytime running light, seat heating,184 hp – all standard (only the automatic 1000,00 Euro surcharge). “For the first time in life after almost nine years Volvo I sit in a KIA!” Processing seems ok, cockpit pleasantly styled, used materials however not as high-quality as in the Volvo, but the plastic parts skillfully designed… New vehicle – still to have (with new The test drive brought the decision. Agile car, the 184 hp engine was just the right one, not a turbo hole, inconspicuously switching automatic at the right time. Chassis not as comfortable as my XC90. I don’t want to rave too much of the car now, because it still has to prove if it could keep up with our “uncaputable elk” in the long run. A certain skepticism remains, but the car gets its chance. That the price list ends where it only just starts with other so-called “premium providers” – and that there has been a proper estate. One thing Rolo has to do, however: the moose-like “climbable passenger seat”. So this is the farewell story, as the convincing moose friend Rolo has come to a completely different car. But will remain connected to the moose forum. Rolo

Tacho is sporadic/ABS + !(call sign) light up
Hello dear Volvo drivers, and everyone else. I’m new here in the forum. Live in OWL and am 59 years old. With my V70 BJ 1998 sporadically “ABS and the ! exclamation sign” lights up since Oct. 2019. Then the speedo needle “lows down”, day kilometers and KM display are no longer visible. And I don’t see how fast I drive. At the driving characteristics nothing changes. From a free workshop the following was done: Signal performance under load measured (without Bef and)/mass connections tested/plug contacts tested by the ABS control unit. External performance from an electronics company in Düren: instrument cluster tested and board renewed/no error found. instrument cluster re-installed (8 hours!!!!!!!) then the rev indicator did not work. instrument cluster returned. board renewed! everything re-installed. invoice over 1000 Euro. And my car stood 2 months in the workshop. But the same error occurred again. I then put the car in a The following error message was read out: Error is active: ABS-0092 + ABS-0095 ECU communication. I got an estimate of almost 800 euros. One and extension take only 1-2 hours there!!! But with the statement that it is not 100 percent of this error. I don’t know how much money I should still put into my Volvo. If I knew the error will be fixed then I would be still willing to Because I want to drive the old Swedes for a long time. As I said, the mistake is only sporadic: sometimes every few minutes, sometimes for a day not at all, sometimes over 200 km long, sometimes only a few seconds. Maybe someone has had such a mistake with his Volvo. I now admit that I am absolute layman…I therefore ask for reasonably understandable explanations. I would be very pleased.

OBDII – Air mass varies greatly
For a few days now I have had an OBDII interface with Bluetooth and additionally OBDscope on my mobile phone. I can read out some values and stumbled over the value air mass. This fluctuates with my S60 2.4 between 150 and 650 g/s – no matter if idling or full throttle! The value twitches very strongly and occasionally drops sharply (e.g. from 500 times to 20, then again to 600, etc.). The other values I can read with the tool all seem plausible and my laienha In my opinion, this is fine. Therefore, the question now arises whether this fluctuating value of “air mass” indicates a defective LMM? Can anyone help me?

wrong fuelled ?? petrol instead of diesel
Hello and good evening, I have created every prejudice according to my V70 III, 2.4 D of 2008 once undiscut fuel, so super to let it thrive. Ca 15l, range on arrival were still 100km without the uncounted volume. A few facts: 1. it was not left on, despite blonde existence this part of the brain still worked, 2. ignite also left out Well my questions: If possible I would like to remove the fuel / leave it without the car to be dragged into the workshop. Deduction of the super has been clarified. 1. does the Volvo have a filter on the supply line to the tank? If I get out what, how many liters remained in the tank? 2. You can’t get to the petrol pump from above over the rear seats to the tank or? 3. the fuelilter from the front is sitting right under the back bench? Could I pump from there? Or do you keep the bridge of the pump the most meaningful and a pumping off the engine compartment? It seemed to me more logical to do everything as short as possible behind the tank manually in order not to replace / clean too much or is this a fallacy?? Now many thanks! PS: wouldn’t have been so expensive it would have struck me first with the full tank.

V70 is forever at the dealer’s…
Good day together, since I like this V70 I have been watching this offer since January, as long as the ad is already online. The price has been reduced several times. Berlin is unfortunately not around the corner, otherwise I would have gone there long ago. So the question? What could be the catch? The Geartronic? The engine as such?https://www.autoscout24.de/…/…05908afc-6053-485e-91ce-b8bcbb8b61e0 Thanks for information and input!

Radio hole or refusal to work?
Hello everybody! That the Phaeton is quite idiosyncratic is not a secret. In the case of a “new” (likes me for weeks) incident I wonder if there is more behind me. On my car three of the four pushers do not work to close the door handles, the fourth is also winter-tired, so works only from double-digit plus degrees… so far, so bad. What surprises me: not always, but when the button works directly on the parking space before work Sometimes (also only there!) completely Kessi falls out, I sometimes only get into the car with the key in the lock and have to use there (oh grey!) the key to start. Even the radio remote control doesn’t work anymore. Only the trunk can then be opened (at least once randomly) still by pressure on the VW symbol. If only the radio was disturbed, I would start from unfavorable interferences. But complete failure (sometimes only the button, ma Not once no access detection outside, sometimes only delayed key detection at start-up attempt…) of the “wired” components…? In summer I definitely only have the problem before work, in winter he spins anyway. Is my work allergy contagious…?! lg Stefan
