Yesterday I bought a Volvo XC 90 2.5 T and wanted to introduce myself to you here. After “difficult” 2 years with a Mercedes 320 CDI S210 I hope now for a nice time with the hopefully more reliable Volvo. The XC 90 is dark blue with black leather seats, has 65,000 km on the clock and is from 9/2003. It is still very nice and I am enthusiastic about driving behavior. AN SUVs I am so far only the old Mercedes ML and both generations Grand Cheroke e driven over longer distances and found that the Volvo runs much better. I actually didn’t want an SUV, but the test drive convinced me so much that I bought the car directly the next day. Right at the beginning I also have a few questions in stock, to which I hope to get answers from you. The car also has two menu items in the on-board computer for the preheating or its programming. Does this mean that the car also has a preheating…? The leather looks quite cheap and is already quite wrinkled. With which care products have you made the best experiences? Can one use the standard roof support from Thule on the roof rail? What is a Heico engine kit? Do I have to have it…? Has any of you already retrofitted the facelift? My car has almost all possible options, just no xenon light. Perhaps it would be interesting for me to retrofit this and use the facelift lamps at once, if only Thank you and greetings, Mathias.

  • V70 2.4D – Too little power?

Hello, I’m just about to pick up a commercial car and as an old Volvo fan with two children I would like to take a V70. The problem is: Only the no diesel (92kW) fits into the budget. What are your experiences? Is the engine power enough for such a heavy car? I drove both an XC90 and an XC70 as a D5 with Automatic – of course, they were great, but not really comparable. I also had an E-Class (E200 CDI) with 122hp. At the moment I drive a V40 with 122hp (petrol) – normally the performance is enough for me. Although I like to drive fast. Does someone have the comparison to the V50 2.0D? In advance thank you for your tips.

  • V70 D5: 215/55 R16 or 205/55 R16 ?

Hello, I got a few offers for winter tyres today (yes, I know I’m very early on). Almost everywhere the same (expert) opinion: Take the 205/55/R16, which are up to 50 EUR cheaper per tire and in winter anyway better to drive. At the moment I have 215/55/R16 on it as summer tyres. What would you recommend? I like the wider flaps already better but if the 205 are not only cheaper but also even safer … thank you for any opinion, greeting Jan

  • Winter SL with the two batteries?

Hello all SL drivers, how do you handle wintering (e.g. November-February) with the two batteries? 1. Possibility (and so it is in the operating instructions): Both batteries disconnect and separately charge/maintenance charge. 2. Battery maintenance device to the starter battery (without disconnecting) hang. Will the second (so-called “consumer battery” be charged? 3. 2 battery maintenance devices, each connected to one battery (without disconnecting)? 4. battery, sometimes the consumer battery (without jamming) charge? At the first possibility it is known disturbing that all calibrations (ESP/BAS, window lifter, Comand etc.) must be carried out when reconnecting, which sometimes does not succeed easily. So: How do you do it and what experiences do you have with your procedure? Thanks already now for as many tips as possible! rab2

  • Where do you go on holiday with your SL/SLK?

I’d like to know which of you are going on holiday with the SL/SLK and where the trip takes you. In August I’m going with my R129 (SL500) to the Cote d’Azur. The coastal roads are awesome. If there’s too much traffic I’ll start the Col de Turini, which is mostly deserted. Wish you a nice holiday! Philipp

  • SL 280 or the SL 320?

Hey together, I’m new here and I’m thinking about buying a SL 280. I have a few questions now. 1.) I heard that the 280 for the almost 2 tons SL is undermotorized is true? 2.) Would you like to buy me a SL from year 89 – max. 92. Do these cars have a few quirks or should I rather get a final edition what exactly is better? 3.) Was there a CD player already in the SL ( year 91/92 )? Have you seen a sl280 build year 04/95 almost 80tkm and almost full equipment Price: 16.900 ,-€ is this a good price? But am I not quite sure if it should be the 280 or the 320? What do you think? From when did the panorama hardtop come in person better than the slightly older ones. So: US lights, car phone, stand heating, leather, seat heating, Navi, E seats with memory function is a must for me in the SL. A short question still, was it available eig. at an additional cost that if you lock the car that the roof also closes? and when the roof opens? Hektor500

  • Oil loss oil tank/gear …. where can this come from and what can I do ?

I have a problem with my Volvo V70I 2.5 106kw/144ps. And I lose quite a lot of oil. To a certain extent this was due to a defective hose of the crankcase ventilation. However, it is repaired. now I cleaned everything from below and looked at where the rest of the oil comes from. The identified place is when you are under the car in the seam between the oil tank and transmission. I actually wanted to dismantle the oil tank to give me a better practice. However, I had not got an oil tank seal and now I have to drive again urgently today. But will the tub remove the days and have a look. Now to my question: Has someone had something similar before? What does it look like when I took off the tub? Is there possibly a gasket that I can simply renew? Can someone help me with suggestions? Please No Job messages I thank you already and add here some photos of the said place .
