  • Sell G400D or not?

Hello, I need your advice, I’ve had a G400D since November 22. I love the car and I think it’s awesome. But now someone has offered me CHF 25,000 more than I paid for the G. Would you sell or keep the G? I mean that’s exactly the price difference to the G500 in Switzerland, which is also available here. In theory, I could buy the G500 without spending money on it. I really hate to give the G400 here, but if someone is ready 25k To pay more is actually stupid not to make the deal, especially since I don’t expect the price to remain stable, especially for the diesel. What do you think? Thank you for your advice!

  • Dipped headlights

Hello, I don’t know if you know the problem, at least I know it: Tribune headlights. The glass starts to become so milky-yellow and the light scattering is not exactly the racer anymore. I looked at the headlights more closely, the glass is not a real glass but plastic (my BJ 96 Vf, no! Xenon). The surface was rough, real sprinkles and scratches in it. I tried to get the whole thing away with polish, but the normal for the paint was simply too fine. b I then grabbed the metal/chrome polish, first tested on the blinker, wanted to break nothing for me And look, there was light! I polished my two headlights with it, polished away the top layer attacked and then again with normal fine polish (so the one for the paint) over it. Result: The whole rubble is gone and I have a great view again at night. I wanted to write in here, for all those who have a similar problem LG

  • D3/D4 AGR valve of multiple defects?

Hello, I am currently having a problem with my S80 D3 2L 120kW EZ 02/2012. The car showed me in the instrument cluster the warning message “motor system maintenance required”. For this reason the car was already at the Volvo dealer. After reading the fault memory, the car had identified the AGR valve as an offender. It was replaced on guarantee (Volvo-Select), but not the corresponding cooler and the tube to this. The tube was renewed and the cooler cleaned both au f meine Kosten(100Euro). The route during the workshop stay of 5 working days, so also the test drive was only 3 km, which seems very little to me. So much to the background history. Yesterday I picked up the car and since then I drove about 3 times 20km over land. On the last trip today the same error message came under full load again. In addition, it is to be mentioned that I generally drive two times 20km daily and all one to two weekends 200km every now and again z urück(ca. 25000km/year). So certainly not a pure short-range operation, which leads to the DPF never regenerating itself. However, I drive basically rather calmly and almost always in partial load operation. Now I am thinking about whether it makes sense simply to ride the engine too warm. With the distances of 20km it certainly does not come to operating temperature. Tomorrow the workshop can then reach again… let’s see what they tell. The workshop had originally also enjoyed a new AGR cooler. To be honest, I would not be very happy about the additional costs of 500-600 euros that I should be carrying. I bought the car from another Volvo dealer (about 120km away) before about 6500km and he now has 76000km on it. I would be very grateful about advice. Maybe someone had a similar problem. I also hope that the car will be running reliably again soon. I have the predecessor, a E-Class with 200tkm and after 11 years, actually out of concerns about cost and reliability given. Now having problems was not planned so and is also a pity, because I like the S80 otherwise very much in its characteristics. Oh yes.. the topic about the VEA(is that so?) I have read… because it is the “old engine” I did not want to hang on to it. If the part is identical, however, it would be interesting again…. Thank you Greeting Fini

  • Opel Commodore A Consumption

Hello, I wanted to know what the 2.5 liter (Opel Commodore A 2.5S(88kw) with 3speed automatic) consumes. I already read a lot from 9litres to 17L/100km. What are your averages?

  • Clean the engine from the outside

Evening, my dear ones, can one of you tell me THE secret recipe, how best and most gently to get a fully developed engine of OUTS? It is quite oily, in some places also covered with a rather stubborn dust-oil-dry-sminder. The aluminum also has in some places these ugly white salt stains. It is not completely disassembled, only the head and some attachments are still dismantled. The possibilities known to me convince n me somehow not all as right, like e.g. cold cleaner, steam jet, oven spray, brake cleaner, acetone, kerosene, marine clean, pergasol and what is not still available. Some were probably quite successful with biodiesel, whereby he can not really cope with rubber parts. Does anyone have experience with the dry ice jet process? Am something overwhelmed And if we are already at the topic, what about the conservation afterwards? Greetings

Hello dear Volvo friends, for a good 6 weeks I own a V70 Kombi, 2,435l/196PS Turbo and Automatik, Bj.11.99, Mdl.2000 Actually a nice and spacious car, but the consumption spoils the whole fun. • V70 – STC / DSTC / ABS and Antishlupf, understanding, legal and functional question

Guggugg°° So, contrary to the dealer’s written sales announcements, my 11/2000 moose has no ESP at all….but ONLY an STC. 1.)Can I do something about the price here later on? (Somehow ESP was even a buying argument for me ;() 2.)The anti-tishing stuff is constantly intervening with me, it just needs to start sneezing ;( And what surprises me…it does this with martial sounds that are animally on the station. Must that be so loud? 3.) I can turn off the STC…a about then is not only the antic horn out but also the ABS or? Does anyone know a possibility to deactivate the anti-goods but to leave ABS on? 4.) Upgrading on DSTC probably doesn’t make any financial sense at all, does it? Would this theoretically be possible at all? So, this is what is currently going on in my mind…before I drive the days, so to speak Brainstorming Regards the Tom

  • CEM-B10EA12 PTC heating short circuit after 12V

Moin Volvoraner, my loyal elk (V70 III, 2012) has been reporting via ViDa for a long time: “CEM-B10EA12 Positive temperature coefficient heating. General electrical errors – circuit short circuit against battery” It’s probably about the electric auxiliary heater, which is supposed to heat the interior. I haven’t noticed any comfort restrictions yet, but maybe I’ve just used to it. To my question: Does anyone know the problem? Is there a simple solution (e.g. fuse defective or a The heater is obviously installed behind the center console and difficult to access. Here I would like to avoid unnecessary work. Who can help? • DIY tailpipes on the Phaeton?

Hello forum, I really like the design of the Hofele rear apron (see appendix) with the tailpipes very well. Is it actually possible to insert suitable apertures into the closed rear apron of the Phaeton V6? So cut out rear apron to the desired tailpipes and possibly stick them in with body glue? Basically, the package with which you could equip the V6 also from factory with the tailpipes is also nothing else, isn’t it? Has someone ever done this before? Vg Thomas
