  • Heating, short distances and garage

Hello, now that the purchase of the XC70 is supposed to go over the stage this month, I just remembered something: I drive primarily short distance (just 12km). At night the car is in the garage, in the office in a carport. The heater, which I would then take to warm up the engine is not so the best idea in the garage So I could only take it in the evening for the way home from the office. But then I would have to activate it by FB, because I never know when I will get out of the B And as I know myself, I rather forget it…. Furthermore, I need about 15-20 minutes for the 12km. And as I understand it, the heater only starts when the outside temperature is below 7°. So from the gut feeling I would say, then the heater kills me rather the battery and does not bring the benefit. Am I right there? Greeting Heiko Oh yes: The longer rides come then on the WE But then with full use. With me it is climbing and geocaching.

  • Light sensor???

moin, today I noticed with my thickness that the complete amature lighting suddenly became darker. This concerned the navigator, radio and the instruments (tacho etc.). Perhaps by chance when I had to drive through a rather dark area from the sun. Unfortunately, there were no further serious differences of light and dark on my house distance, so this phenomenon was not recognisable again. The question is now whether this was the case and I may have a tension problem od whether there is actually a sensor controlled lighting control from which I on the one hand knew nothing and on the other have never noticed??

  • If I knew what that was

Hello people I’ve been a proud occupier for 4-5 months an omi caravan automatic. Actually I’m satisfied with the car when things don’t hurt, I’m just driving in the city and relatif short distances but I still wonder 16 – 17 liters of consumption is normal, besides the cold engine at the red amplitude the motor shakes so that I get the vibrating at the seat and steering wheel totally to feel when I switch from D to N turn height and motor does not shake so dol and the moto r really warm gets normalized it all, I’d like to know where all this comes from

  • V70 2.5 oils after oil change

Good morning together, I already have the next question to the Volvo community. My Volvo was dry at the bottom, until the oil change. Now he thinks he has to oil. Exactly where could I not find out. The drain screw is dry. Makes me seem rather like it pushes out above the oil tank, in the direction of Fshrt. Through the driving wind the oil then spreads down at the bottom of the oil tank and then basically drips down next to the drain screw. Someone an idea or experience what it is can be and how I fix it. Should be nice and dry! Thank you!!!

  • Upgrade Digital Instument Panel?!

Moin Moose Driver, I have to admit that I have gucked into the new TFT panel of the V40 and the MY14 models! Therefore (as everyone can surely think) my question now inevitably follows:Can one retrofit the “new” digital TFT panels or the complete “inlay” of the instrument panel in the older series? And if so, how much do you estimate the effort for such an operation? Ideally I hope that the version fits and you just unscrew the old panel and a And then the new panel has to plug in and screw in… The instruments are also in the older series (MY11-MY13) against the jargon no longer “analog instruments”, that’s all already digitized. Would be really great if someone can make a sound statement about it! Greetings from the coast, state

  • Presentation Volvo XC70 D4 FWD Black Edition

Hello, I have been active in the Volvo area for some time, but only because of my wife’s car. Until last year I was on the road in the Audi A5 area and wanted to switch to an XC60. Since I waited too long with the contract, no XC60 bearing vehicles were available and thus it became the Volvo XC70. Today was finally the handover of my first Volvo, an XC70 D4 FWD Black Editon. I drove today only a short while, but can already say that the car s the equipment of the car is as follows: color outside: twilight bronze color inside: anthracite automatic light package cargo compartment package family package parking aid front and rear speed-dependent power steering headrests foldable rear (electric) LM rims FREJA black 8.0 xd 18″ 235/50 R18 (summer) emergency wheel side and rear window darkened Additional equipment: LM rimsValder 235/55 R17 (winter) rubber footmats boot backcover mat Images of the interior mac next week I will drive a few kilometers and am curious how the difference to our V70 D4 with 5-cylinder and 6-speed automatic is. • Search Cat for C70 T5 – 07/1998 – Switches

Hello. For about 2 weeks it rattles with warm engine in the stand gas under the coupé and I have the fear that the cat dissolves slowly. With running engine knocking against the cat and it rattles in it….. So it is probably soon a change. However, I saw in the invoices of the previous owner that the cat was changed in 2010 already. The car currently has 172tkm on the clock…. To get a part for the vehicle from 09/1998 is apparently no problem…. But for my B My question: Is there still any sources of supply for the part? Could the cat for models from 09/1998 be built up and hope for the grace of the TÜV-man. Or does someone else have to leave such a part of you? I would be super grateful for tips or even offers!

  • Stupid running

Hej I was on the return journey from Sassnitz to Trelleborg, as the ferry started I wanted to start the engine, but he didn’t want to,battery empty. but no problem there was start assistance from the deck staff. so the start battery connected started the engine running, I was exiting door to disconnect the battery in the eyeball made it click and the centle lock closed all the doors. The engine ran the 2nd key was in the jacket in the car.The staff tried to help me,abe r the only possibility was to hit a windshield. my luck was only that the ferry remained in the harbour. then sas harbour staff arrived on board and someone came to call the Swedish adac on the idea. wait 2 hours, the staff provided me with coffee and cared for me. when the help arrived the one wooden wedge in the door in the crevice a cushion which he aublies with a fixed wire he unlocked the door. price 1500kr (150eur) now I could continue my journey. n after 6st I was at home. once again my thanks to the occupation of the sassntz happy firm you all Dieter

  • Passenger airbag – is there really no deactivation option?

moin, I think I’ve asked that before, but I have the hope that maybe there is still a possibility, or someone here has deactivated it and it has also been registered at tüv. my problem is just the airbag, I would like to have it completely removed from or at best, but from volvo side it is only possible if I would switch off the whole amature board, the airbag control unit and the buckle belt from the driver. but that would be a huge problem, sometimes there apart from that, I would have to get the whole material somewhere. who say at tüv, if volvo is not ok, you can not enter me a deactivated airbag either. here in the forum? I had read that it would be technically possible to deactivate the airbag, so it probably does not fail, apparently it only fails to do so because of the permission. *grmpf* with soon 4 children but I do not need an accompanying airbag, with active airbag can not be a child seat The child is sitting there and all of my children need a seat. and so I haven’t found an additional back bench yet, at least not for less than 450€. from the fact that I have always blocked the suitcase room, even if only I drive with the children. but I can squeeze the stroller into the passenger seat badly.

  • How can I install PU jacks without a rotary stick

Now that I have started to remove a little reperture I have encountered a problem and I find no solution there. I wanted to replace the socket of the upper engine bearing and get the old one out quite easily. Then one half of the PU sockets inside and the second one does not want to go in. I also tried with a vice but this stupid part always misunderstood itself. Now the part is still extended and now I have two questions: 1. Can I use drive the car even though the upper support is still missing? before it was also very loose… 2. How can I get the socket still in there? Does it go with cold (pack over night into the freezer? Thanks for the help….
