  • XC 90 Brake-Murks

    A real flaw in the XC 90 seems to be the brakes. After the front brakes have been replaced with 18,000 at mileage on guarantee. I now have the same problem after about another 20,000 km: the discs are sliding and the brakes are rubbing. The workshop now puts itself across the lack again uncomplicated. In my opinion it is a clear material error, because the brake discs are simply too soft. The chrome part of the materi as is too low, the heat dissipation too bad. At any rate, this was nothing new to the master of the Volvo car house, especially since the V70 has to suffer from the same illness. my XC 90 is now 1.5 years old, knarzt and quitsch after 43,000 here and there, evruses with 8.6 liters on average quite little and makes great fun. Only I would not buy it after leasing alone because of the brake murks. What experiences do you have? Greetings big-j

    Moin I have the problem that with my 850 2.5 10 V the battery was discharged two times overnight ! After that I have now charged the battery, measured the rest current which was at 0 amperè And the generator power checked which was at 69 amperè at 2500 rpm and all consumers ! The battery is charged with 13.8 V ! Well my question : on the generator is a range of 55-100 amperè specified under what circumstances does it supply 100 amperè ? And are my 69 amperes i.O. ? oll area are the 69 amperè yes ? Thank you very much Julian

  • Timing belt change on Wednesday

    Hello guys, I just got my timing belt set and the WAPU from my part dealer around the corner. For 152,91€ timing belt set is from INA (I wanted to actually have Conti, but the nice blonde lady said that you can either get Conti or INA and now only INA is there. She also said that this is equivalent and you have no problems) WAPU is from Meyle so I think there is no prob.. As said on Wednesday everything will be installed. n right away with change?? (cost 37€ , I find already a lot) Does anyone have experiences with INA ??? Pictures then come from change, since I have someone who will help me it will hopefully go well.

    Moin moin, I bought my R already with a marten damage but since then I probably had at least two more visits. Luckily (for the marten) no cables or hoses were nibbled on but the insulation mat (with three m) became smaller and more ugly each time. Now my question, if anyone knows how to neutralize the smell for other marten or where I get such a insulation mat (with three m) or an alternative like fireproof carpet etc. which I have in front of the damage Is there such a thing in the hardware store? Can I just cut a black foot-strip and stick it in or torch me at the next full throttle ride with a red glowing turbo??? best regards

    Have a cheap offer (complete set levelling set Volvo part number: 9124841) and a question regarding conversion. Do you need a special tool for the removal of the old springs or for the installation of the longer thinner springs? How are the experiences? Is it possible with other means?
