  • Advice on the purchase of a used XC90 (up to 20,000 €)

Hello Volvo community, I’ve always been driving VW/Audi and I might be thinking about buying an XC90 D5 instead of a used Touareg R5. However, since I’m totally inexperienced with Volvo, it would be nice if you would give me a few tips on what I have to pay attention to. Due to the price frame of about 20000 Euros (i.e. nix with MJ2006 and 185PS) the following vehicle will become (as clues) an XC90 D5 with 163hp and a mileage between 80000-140000 km MJ 2004/2005 with leather, Navi, Xenon What do you have to pay attention to, what problems the XC90 has at this age/running performance Thank you for your support … goose

  • I bought the Senni and I probably put a handle in the bathroom – can you help me?

A nice hello, maybe you can remember me – I am the woman who wanted to buy the senator in Worms – I also bought it, wanted to tell you now with joy about my new car, instead I have to tell you that I probably made a big mistake with it. Honestly, I am totally ashamed of you – it looks like as a woman – still blond – I am too stupid to buy a decent car, I am the last to buy a decent car. That was the 4th car purchase I made, and so far I haven’t fallen in, but this time it looks pretty gloomy. I’m totally devastated and I hope for your technical support, because you are the experts for Sennis and Co. But let me tell you: I looked at the Senni the day before last Friday, actually I wanted to have it examined at the TÜV below, was also there, but they had a The salesman of the Sennis had to go to work and so the evaluation failed. The car made a very good impression on me, it was well maintained, inside and outside, the salesman = a trained KZF-Mechanic, told me constantly that he has regularly waited and checked everything, had all inspections done. I noticed nothing special during the test drive – except that the emergency-lamp of the Ele The salesman had also told me that he had confused it with the battery voltage lamp. He offered me that I could read it out – he already had it done 2 times, the Opel dealers spoke of a too low battery voltage (which is about 12 volts) or a too low alternator power, to him it was said that this is not in need of repair. After I had the same problem with my Senni, only that the lamp was lighted up frequently. I didn’t think about it, and that the Senni was running a bit restless in the stand – but I had read that this is often the case with the retrofitted Kat systems (my workshop also confirmed this to me). Doof was only that the height adjustment of the seat did not work – I wanted to ask you anyway what you could do (oils, replace the adjustment mechanism, etc.). Anson I told the seller that I didn’t want the wide tires, which were quite loud, he told me that instead he would put on a set of winter tires. Now last Friday was the handover of the Sennis. I drove off Worms, had to realize that the Goodyear winter tires are also quite loud, and that I suddenly hear that the shock absorber makes noises at the right back when I drive over street unevenness. Well, that’s z was not intoxicating, but what should I do, I also did with my first Senni – the radio is still turned up a little louder. I am not quite so delicate (especially since I was still in my memory of how expensive an exchange of electronically adjustable shock absorbers is). The drive home was impeccable, the car was running really great, made a very compact, firm impression, engine power and everything else was impeccable, the joy was huge. Yesterday I now signed off my old Senni, the n new one registered for me and went to the first exit – on the way home – in the middle of the city traffic – I suddenly noticed that the engine was extremely throbbing when accelerating, the speed went up at a speed of 48 km/h to more than 4000 tours, I noticed that he did not find the next higher gear. I swear to you that neither on the test drive, nor on the way home the gearbox did even a wrong circuit operation, I noticed that he did not find the gears a bit different s runs out as my old Senni, but that was also a gear with a gym (also when I tried out the, which totally in the green area). Well, I am then off the gas, gave again carefully gas, the whole game went back and forth several times. So I was then on the expressway with almost 50 stucco, then with the xth try it managed, that there was a proper jerk and the next gear inserted, then the Senni switched again everything normal. But as I then drove down from the expressway again, the same shit came back. I directly to my car workshop – the mechanic made a test drive, came to the same result as me, in the approx.10 attempt he had the right gear again. The mechanic said that as the first measure one should make a gearbox-oil change incl. filter change. He hopes that then the problem has been fixed. I already snapped all the way home and then I remembered that my first Senni always lost gear oil and every time everything was empty, he also had these problems when changing from the reverse to the forward, I also had to give gas x times, take back again, wait, then there was the one jerker and then the gear was in it. Then I always knew that I had to refill again (the vial then held a whole year). So the gear-oil measuring rod got out and rubbed off on a clean cloth – when I then the residue In the cloth I saw, I thought I had the wrong measuring rod in my hand – I then made the comparison with my old Senni, who was still standing beside it, and it was the right measuring rod, but: Instead of having pink oil in the cloth, I had a liquid on the cloth, which looked like normal engine oil, and even so tiny clumps. And the oil was still at a minimum level. I told the workshop this morning that I should not drive the car anymore, The whole day I waited for the call, that they finally have the parts to make the oil change, but they have trouble getting the spare parts, with Opel you can not get them anymore (???? can that be????) and now they have gone over a vintage car dealer. The boss of the workshop told me that it is not good that the oil looks like this, he said that the gearbox already had a damage, because this residue He tries to change the oil but can’t promise me anything, and if it doesn’t work, a gearbox repair is due – the price he called me almost dropped me. So, long story, short question to you experts: – If the oil change should fix the current problems (but which is very questionable), what effects does it have in the long run, that probably there has been something in the bush for a long time and that the gear is moving with this totally consumed oil t was? – I was reminded that I have the right to withdraw from the sales contract within 14 days, e.g. if the gearbox is totally fucked up. Is this possible without any problems or do I definitely need a lawyer??? I definitely feel totally screwed by the seller, because if he has checked everything so regularly and done all inspections regularly, then he should have noticed the oil already, that comes after all not overnight and certainly not at all, without it somehow announcing itself – or am I wrong here? You dear experts, you have the most experience with this model – can you tell me something about it, so that I am not standing in front of the workshop completely stupidly and also know how to continue to behave in this matter, because a return of the car would really be the very last thing, because I signed off my old Senni and without a valid TÜV stamp I can not get it registered again and here in the country I am quite tired without a car. Thanks to you very much for your answers. Babsi, totally cracked P.S. After I can not contribute anything with you professionally except questions, but I would like to offer you that if someone among you has problems with a sick cat or any other questions about cat husbandry, he can mail me very gladly, because this is my area of expertise, I would very much like to help you with tips.

Hello I drive an opel Omega built in 2000.For some time now the ABS and TC lamps have been running off and the speedometer is running off.I called the ADAC and it could not help me either. So I went to the Bosch service. My car was hung up on a computer but they said they couldn’t find a mistake. But I was allowed to pay.So I put it in a workshop. But they couldn’t find anything.I’ve already looked for it on the internet but there are the different types of lights. now I have an appointment with Opel next week, but I would like to know what it can be and what it could cost.Because I’m also afraid that they will pull me off again as they did with the Bosch service. Please I need help or good advice quickly.

  • V70 ZV does not close tailgate

Moin municipality, again owner of a Volvo and have a small problem. The tailgate is not locked by the ZV, it does not blink when closing. Now I wanted to make the fuse for the first time, but I can’t find it. Under the glove compartment it should be the 25 (tank cover/backgate). But I don’t have this slot. The row stops at 24. • Oil loss

Hello, I’ve been driving since repurchasing the car 2.4 D, now at 260,000 km. It consumes 2-3 years rising more motor oil, about 1.5 lit / 10,000km. Has anyone experience whether it is normal ? Thanks from Vienna !

  • Volvo V60 B4/D4 Purchase advice with focus on mileage

I would like to buy a Volvo V60 Diesel and need some experience reports from you, as the search function has not brought me any further. A V60 with diesel engine from BJ 2018 is planned, my budget is 20-23,000 euros. After some research I have chosen the “big” diesel engines for me, i.e. the 190 or 197 hp machine with an automatic transmission. Now the market of course gives many variants: few KM + little equipment + BJ 2018 = approx. . 20k€ 100-120k KM + little equipment + BJ 2018 = ca. 15-17k € 150-200k KM + full equipment + BJ 2020 and newer = ca. 22k € My question would now be like your experiences with “high” running performance. Currently I tend to be a leasing back runner with a high long distance share, but with a better equipment (for me interesting panoramic roof, headup display, Harma Kadon sound system). Thank you and greetings from the heart of the Ruhr area.

  • Oil level measuring rod XC60 3.0 T6 MY2014

Hello together, in the user manual and also in the net I find only very different representations of the measuring range on the oil measuring rod. I photographed the thing, but can not do anything with the whole XX, which are engraved on it. How to understand this? I measured 15 minutes after a ride. Thank you and greeting

  • Cost – Renew rear brake

Hello, today I got a quote from a specialist workshop for changing the rear brake (V60 T4). 700 Euro incl. tax. Blocks and discs should be changed. Is that OK?

  • Gas pump?

Good morning to all of you???….not quite…and that’s it: I’ve been driving V70 Bj 2000 on LPG for 70,000 km. Since about 30,000 also with the engine warning light. Error memory says misignition cylinder 2. Well, it’s not my real problem at the moment. For 2 days it doesn’t start on petrol anymore. If I let it start with the emergency start procedure on gas it’s no problem, but not on petrol. I tried to switch to petrol during the ride, but I already had the problem a few times that he doesn’t jump on me before work. But after work everything is OK again. And I already had the problem that he switched to petrol (if the gas has gone out) but just runs out after 3-6 km (by the way a very crappy feeling at 160 on full highway…). But after you finally stand on the stand strip, he jumps again without a problem. e on. After 3-6 km the same game. Until he can drive again on gas. But you can avoid the problem in which you do not drive the gas tank empty. Well and for 2 days he does not start at all on petrol. Father-in-law means petrol pump, because you can not hear it when you turn on the ignition. Incidentally, I also read here that the 2000 petroler tends to fail the petrol pump. Securing fuel pump is still quite. Or what else could it be? Where is the fuel pump located? n the petrol pump, that you can test this even today with the father-in-law on the hole? And someone already knows how much it costs? Aus- und Einbau will not be so difficult, right? Thanks for your help already in advance. And nice Sunday still.

Today’s Auto Bild includes a permanent test of the V60 D2, which completed a distance of 100,000 km almost impeccable and thus received the grade 1. The only lack was a total failure of the infotainment system at km stand 15,997, the system was revived by update. In conclusion it says: “Small engine, large car – the V60 is not a chief dynamician, but a comfortable travel combi with extremely high range.
