Hello to all hobby screwdrivers. Before I ask a FOH I would rather turn to you, who probably know better than some mechanics. Can exist the possibility that the timing belt jumps around one or two teeth and the engine, X30XE, without taking any damage, runs on the valves, and just listens a little rougher and runs restlessly in the stationary gas. I also do not really notice a performance loss. Thank you in advance – MfG Ernst

850: Project Upgrade to Premium Sound System
I don’t even know which radio was originally installed on me – the previous owner replaced it with a DIN part of Sony. There are also only the four broadband(?) loudspeakers in the doors. So: Vanilla equipment of the MJ 1996. Since the Sony thing is annoying (ugly, unergonomic, radio is not working properly, and then this disgusting shut-down-pling sound!), I got a SC805 suitable in black. With operating instructions and code. Now I guess: It will not be reic Presumably, an amplifier has to be fitted, the more suitable eight loudspeakers have to be in doors, dashboard and D-pillars, and possibly the wiring has to be adjusted. Who has done this before and can give me hints? Additional question: Is there an interface with which one can realize an Aux input and/or an MP3/WMA player (from USB stick or so)?

Paint / remove paint from bumper (Volvo 850 Limo)
Hello together, with my moose the previous owner unfortunately tried to color the front bumper somehow – in black. At least that’s how it looks. It’s definitely darker than on the sidebars and at the rear. There you left it to be lucky, after the front was probably only so moderate in the result. I have already treated the rest of the parts with Koch Chemie PSS and am completely satisfied with the result. Now is the question: Does anyone have an idea how/whether to color / the la ck gets so removed that the bumper is still to be used afterwards? Ideally, looks like in the original state of course. With what means was treated here unfortunately is unknown. I once attached two pictures. The greyish parts is original. So part of the coloring has gone away at some point. Greetings!

Disassemble the flasher lever (with cruise control)?
Colleagues I suspect my blinker lever to have a weak contact during the cruise control operation. Has anyone ever disassembled such a switch? Does one somehow get to the contact surfaces? With photos of the object of the desired disassembly….

The 850 doesn’t want any more
My vehicle (850, 20V, 2.5l) just went out on the ride. When I started in Munich, he went out under the ride for a short time, but came back again. Now after about 400 km it happened again, but also went on again. After another 10 km then nothing went on. No spark of ignition and the tachometer does not move at the organ either. Do you have a piece of advice? love greetings Uli

Purchase advice – V70 and XC70
Hello. I’m looking for a car. At the moment v70 and xc70 have jumped into the eye. I’ve picked out some of them and will look at them. However, I would like to have some tips on what are the usual weaknesses with the models! How are the service intervals and after how many km or years are timing belts to change? Find here many different details, don’t look through! Costs? … The vehicles: all diesel, switch v70 5/2003 130ps 114,000km v70 ?/2003 130ps 105,000km xc70 5/2005 163ps 126.000km With the km data I go from ez rather than bj! Thanks for the help!

Interior lighting does not stop
Hello Volvo community! I have the following problem: The interior lighting only goes out with massive multiple door knocks. Logically … the door contact is defective! However, I did not find a pen switch like I used to at the Holmen. So assume that the control via a door lock electronics or something works. At cold temperatures it works better, because I can close the driver door completely normally and the interior lighting goes out. Questions A) In which part lies the Defect? B) Is self-assessment possible/recommended? or C) Approximate expense/cost for a workshop? What Dolly Buster would answer I already know … ;o). Greetings Dobrowolsky

Ventilation squeaking – Possible solutions???
Hello everyone, since yesterday my air conditioning fan squeaks somehow. In the stand everything is ok. But as soon as I give gas somehow transmits vibrations and the ventilation starts to squeak with an extremely high frequency noise. With maximum fan power or shutting off the ventilation the noise stops, so definitively the location in the storage of the fan is to be looked for. Is there a simple solution for this without removing the complete valve front? I’m just thinking of spraying WD40 into the front vents, but unfortunately I don’t know if that’s where it’s supposed to go… I hope someone has a simple solution for this, because I can’t afford to put the Phaeton back in the workshop for several days now, after he was there for 14 days for inspection and repair. I thank everyone for suggestions for solutions. Gruss capdoc

Different tires on front and rear axle and different tread depths
Hello all, I have on the rear axle two WINTER REIFEN 245/45R19 102V NEXEN WINGUARD SPORT 2 with good profile. The front tyres should be replaced by the same model, because of a wrong order I get now instead the Michelin Sport Alpine 5 245/45R19 102V . Who of you has experience with mixed tires? Is it worth it for me now in two more new Michelin to avoid possible disadvantages or even dangers by mixed tires? LG
