  • Volvo V70 Velour seats broken

Moin, at my V70 year of construction 98, the Velour seats in the seat are unfortunately torn at the seams. Does anyone have any experience in repairing or perhaps know about it? Greetings Kato61

  • Secondary air pump responsible for wet air filters??

Hi! At the moment I am moving a lot on the weekends with the 850 and a big trailer on the way and wanted to clean the car again the Lufi shortly before the tour on Friday (new 10/2023). The part was soaked, it had apparently, however, water through the thick hose of the secondary air pump coming from below up into the air filter box and the part soaked. It did not really rain a lot and the car was not in the washing system before ?! The Lufi was really drip-wet, fortunately nothing worse happened. Performance was felt significantly less there, clear, with a wet filter that no longer leaves much air. Has anyone ever had this before? I have now for the return journey removed the hose and sealed the Lufi box there. Greeting,Martin

  • heavy oil loss

I had to have my beautiful C70 2,4T towed today.I had noticed an oil smell during the motorway ride. Luckily there was a shopping center direct at the AB.I had a murky feeling and put myself in the lonesomest parking lot of the center and my idea was right.Under the car was an oil puddle and the way there I could also trace back 100 meters. The car was freshed yesterday without defects in a DEKRA station. There was no blue smoke and no W The oil loss is only with running engine and under the passenger side.Motor runs completely calm and last inspection was in February with all the drum and drum. For a defective seal comes too much oil to me.From above I have seen nothing and from below there is too little space, because the good one is a little deeper.I have to worry now, always there are 291t Km on the clock.I also drove without any problems on the towing trailer.

  • Presentation

Hello Forum, I wanted to introduce myself here and now, just as my good upbringing is supposed to be. I am the new HaraldHårfagre, which means Harald Schönhaar, the first Norwegian king to agree on the Vikings of Norway. I come from Berlin and have given myself a V70 D5 sport edition with RTI and all Zip and Zap for Christmas. I hope to learn a lot about my new car here and have a little fun! Greetings from Berlin, Frank

  • Tank watch

Where I’m working on the old load again: For some time now (1-2 years?) my tank watch no longer shows really full, although definitely is full. Say: Pointer stands max. on 65L and drops after some KM then quickly to 60L. Reserve indicator however comes suitable after approx. 55L consumption. What is that now again? No human has fumbled about it. And: since also for a while it smells in the moose for fuel, when I have filled. Sometimes violently, sometimes not so bad – but n ervig. I always only fill up to the “knack”. There is also nothing over or out … Tank ventilation ? I have never been there. Or what else ?

  • Upgrade Carpet Driver Side

Moin, after changing the heating heat exchanger, I now have to remove the carpet and the insulation mat in the driver’s footroom, remove it and clean it or renew it. However, I can’t get out the base plate for the left foot. That was also not helpful:http://www.motor-talk.de/…/…carpet-remove-release-loesen-t4412271.html After that – is it enough if I release the front two screws from the seat – what about the airbag (BJ 98)? The spare part at Volvo costs about 90,- Euro and is probably only part of the mat. I just wanted to exchange a small part of the mat. Does someone have such a thing from a slaughter vehicle? Greeting

  • Speed does what it wants 🙁

Dear Volvo friends, in advance: I have almost no idea about cars, but I don’t want to make any sense here, before I give my beloved V70 to the workshop and probably be pulled over the table by the friendly 😉 It’s a V70, year 1999 (he already has the newer engine in it), ran about 274,000 km, gasoline with 144 hp. I have been driving the car for 2.5 years. Since then, the ETS lamp has always been on after a few minutes, but according to the workshop no significant dr. osselklappenproblem. And this is the following problem, which occurred a little over 8 months ago, but since then not again until a few days ago. But now for it daily. And I notice during the ride, as it suddenly no longer pulls. Then the speed starts to fluctuate and goes up to approx. 3500 revolutions, without giving gas. This also remains in idle mode. I hold on the road edge, so the speed varies significantly between 700 and 1500. the MKL for the first time after that. If I leave the car for about 10 minutes, then the haunting is over and it purrs again. I suspect that at the moment it somehow draws wrong air or is somewhat jammed somewhere. I have already read about the possibility of a defective or dirty idle control. I would be happy if someone had further ideas so that I do not have to have to exchange all the parts in question in the workshop. That is the old one. thanks and warm greetings!

  • Front passenger door trim

Hello together… I just noticed that the decorative strip on the passenger door has loosened something. Since it is in the front part, it is jammed and I can not open the door completely anymore. How is this bar fixed? With clips? How can I get it fixed again?! VG Bird

  • v70 2.4D – Timing belts themselves changed, punitive work!!!

Yesterday I changed the timing belt with water pump and all associated side belts as well as tensioning rollers myself. For this I had ordered the new V70-Diesel book from Haynes from England. Everything became good, but honestly I had imagined this easier. Unfortunately I did not have a stage, therefore everything from the floor. When the upper engine bearing was removed the engine slid down. Then I caught the whole with a jack and a board under the oil tank. The biggest problem, however, was the place. Extending pulleys and tensioning rollers is the madness. I don’t even have thick hands! The coronation was then the water pump. The old one went out, somehow, but the new one should of course be installed without damage. There was only this one way from above and I certainly took half an hour. Finally I had forgotten a screw for the belt protection, but the pulley on the crankshaft was already again f est. I had tried everything, but no chance to put the screw on without further dismantling of the belt disc. In the end, there were some more things that made the whole thing a bit difficult. It took me 10 hours until the engine ran again.
