  • Hu 603

Hello Volvo municipality, on Friday it is time, a new S60D5 enters the road. My elk has a HU603 6×50 Watt audio system. In the forum a lot was discussed about Hidden Menues and Equalizer settings. Since you are very unneeded, it would be helpful if someone could post his settings of the 603 Equalizer. Best Regards Jörg

  • Strong acceleration from the stand…

Just got a big shock on the way home. In the last years only rear-drivers drove and my elk is now again the first front-driver, and that also (with for me) decent PS. Just wanted to speed out of step speed (in the first gear) sometimes quickly and sometimes powerfully stepped on the gas. C70 also put a huge sprint as expected, but suddenly almost the steering wheel beats me out of my hand and cart pulls itself like through “Ghost hand” straight. Had this acceleration process done out of a “light lateral steering movement”, wanted to quickly pass the obstacle. Road was dry, but could there have been a ground wave. Was that about the STC? I really got a huge scare, was the steering correction right with brachial force. Is this normal with a front-wheeler beyond the 150hp? Did I really notice the first time.

  • Unsettled running of the engine in cold condition

Rugged running of the engine in cold condition V40 TD Bj.1997 Hello dear forum reader! (Volvo V40 Diesel Bj. 1997) Maybe someone can help me with my above mentioned problem. If I start the engine in cold condition, then it starts bad first and it runs very restless. This takes about 2-3 minutes or if I have driven about 500-1000m. This problem is as said only in cold condition available. I have installed new glow candles already, unfortunately without success. I gave already once already someone has the tip to check the guide. It serves 2×2 glow candles with a double relay. Where can I find this relay? Can I check it myself (with a standard measuring device) or should I drive to a Volvo workshop? For your help I would like to thank Josef

  • 12V starter battery and possible related problems

Hello on the one hand, one hears again and again that there are also problems with the electronics with E-Autos due to weak 12V starter batteries (and not only there). I myself was most probably also affected by problems with a strongly aged starter battery (by many charging cycles or by long service life and possibly complete discharge), which possibly occurred by very high charging currents at the beginning of the charging process of their own. In addition, later on. In which vehicle conditions exactly the 12V starter battery is charged via the DC-DC converter from the high-voltage grid, and when not. I made several observations about this and would like to check them against. 1. Question: Does a charging process start at the 12V battery regularly only when the drive readiness has been established? (“Zündstellung 3”, quasi loose, Startknopf with pressed brake pedal) 2. Question: I have observed that the 12V battery during a charging process (here a The 12V battery is not charged. Is this correct? 4. Question: I have a quick loader) with the driving readiness switched on (charging between the circular instruments visibly) but not with the driving readiness switched off (air conditioning and music switched on). Is the observation correct? 3. Question: Observation: Generally with a charging process (DC or AC) with a closed car without the driving readiness the 12V on-board network and the starter battery are not supplied with power. Observes that the 12V battery seems to be charged when you activate the pre-climateization via the app, which also activates the electric heater that hangs on the 400V network. The 400V network of the car is switched on virtually actively and the DC-DC converter is also active. Is that correct? 5. Question: Will the starter battery be charged at some point via the DC-DC converter when the car is standing for long and a voltage drop on the 12V starter battery is detected? 6. Question: Is it known if there is a 12V battery in the car? with the EQS equipment, which leads to problems with too high rest currents, e.g. the Samsung Tablet in the middle armrest back (PAT Fondsitz package Plus with 326 comfort armrest in the rear)? I have not yet so long the vehicle, but got again and again after long service life (hours (long) instead of minutes (short) strange error messages due to self-diagnoses, which warned against problems on the high-voltage grid (“high-voltage system check see operating instructions”). The error messages did not occur after long journeys (>10 minutes) and short service life (<1h). Also never during the journey. The error messages did not occur in the workshop either. After consultation with the workshop it was noticed that it was the standard procedure to directly connect the 12V on-board network in the workshop. To pair an external (stable) power supply so that the 12V battery is spared. Only the desire to remove this coupling and the appearance of the message "The charge state of the battery is low" after approx. 3.5 days of service life, led to a realistic diagnosis that the 12V starter battery has to be weakened and replaced. The battery has been replaced. At the present time everything is fine with a new starter battery - there are no more error messages. 7 . Question: Can the DC-DC converter reach its power limit when a starter battery pulls a huge charge current just before the cell death with a therefore very small internal resistance over the 12V network at the start of the charge? So until due to the power loss in the battery and the associated heating this the internal resistance increases and the charging current falls. Voltage fluctuations in the 12V network would then very probably be the result, which in turn control Is this plausible? Still, I can't rule out that there is still a problem with the consumers at rest, but I notice on short distance that the power consumption (x kWh/100km) on the first 3km of a journey is on average 10kWh/100km lower than before the replacement of the battery, which I think is low. The error messages don't appear at the moment. However, I find it challenging that the ECUs leave wrong errors in the memory, but that a worn out 12V battery does not seem to recognize.... which was also classified in the app as "health condition OK".

  • BMW cuts the range extender for Europe at i3

Munich – BMW says goodbye to the range extender in the electric car i3. The version with the 0.65 litre engine, which can charge the battery during the ride, is taken out of the program in Europe. Munich is expecting a declining demand for the long-distance version of the small car, after the range of the pure battery variant has increased to up to 260 kilometers in the course of the current battery upgrade. In addition, the grid of fast charging stations in Europe is growing continuously Compared to the pure battery version, the model with an additional engine cost up to 4,600 euros extra charge. Nevertheless, in Germany about one in four customers decided to drive without fear of range. In the USA and Japan, however, the range extender share is significantly higher; therefore, the i3 will continue to be offered with an internal combustion engine. In our own business: Together with BWM, we are looking for test drivers for the new X2. Lust? Here you can find out how to apply. Source: Sp-X

  • Slip plastic (cooker grill or similar)

Have seen on a car, to be more precise on the radiator grille of a car, ostensibly put. Residues of wax or similar stuff, which brighten up the plastic after a time ?… Anyway, my question is whether you can get out such a thing with plastic cleaner or plastic preparation or at least get more inconspicuous. if yes, product recommendations ??

  • Porsche Cayenne swallows 66.7 liters at full speed

Have just found an interesting article at Spiegel Online, who plays here with the idea of getting a Cayenne Turbo S, should maybe read it through for a little bit Link @ Spiegel Online Greeting proXimaus P.S.: I like the Cayenne much better than the Q7 😛

  • Engine damage 996 < 2000

Hello forum, on my 50th birthday I want to buy a used 996. Since I have another year, I already inform myself about this car on various websites. Unfortunately I have to read very often, that in the series 996 an ATM is installed. Is the engine really so vulnerable or Porsche so kulant ??? Also here in the forum the machines are called the wear part before 2000 – what should I think of it ??? Is the 993 from the machine more mature ?? I hope that I hear in this forum an honest opinion on this topic. I would be pleased about tips and suggestions or links. Best regards Lothar

  • uni black – hand wash or washing street?

Hello boys and girls, drive a new black (uni) car from Zuffenhausen and ask me now the question, whether I can drive it without problems (in Munich) through ne Waschstraße or if I have to fight afterwards with scratches etc. and therefore better wash with hand. Please for tips. PS: has someone nn tip, where best hand wash in Munich (Bogenhausen, Schwabing etc.)???
