  • How expensive in maintenance?

    Hello, I wanted to ask here how high the maintenance/reperature costs are for a used Alfa Romeo. I’m looking for a nice Alfa for max. 500€ I also read that these are very expensive in maintenance or are very susceptible to smaller repratures. Is that right?   • XPeng G9 with caravan

    Hello in the round, I’m thinking about whether my next car will be an XPeng G9 performance. An important factor is the trailer load and the consumption as I want to pull a trailer. The trailer load would fit, but has someone already pulled a trailer with the G9 and can say something about the consumption? How about the assistance systems? Will they be shut down or restricted in trailer operation? Would I be happy if there are experiences/knowledge about this already. Thank you in advance!

    Zhidou D2S Hello together, I am looking for a competent workshop for this small car. ( Germany ) We are in despair, the dealer here in Berlin is more than unable (will only sell, no service) and an E car workshop can’t go any further. Who knows a (contract) workshop for the little one? Error description: After a travelled journey the error occurs, sporadically not provocative, that the driving stage (forward or backward) cannot be inserted. Sometimes the complete helps to switch off (when turning on the roadway may even be dangerous), sometimes the frequently pressing of the brake pedal helps. Sometimes nothing helps at all…… I would be happy about hints where we can get the repair. Thank you

  • My next car, Alfa, Jaguar, Mercedes or Bmw?

    Hello guys. I want to buy a young used car. Candidates are it, as written above, Alfa Romeo Giulia with 2.0 Turbo and 200 HP, Jaguar XE as well as mi 2.0 gasoline or stop with the Diesel, Bmw 420i or 420d and Mercedes C class (all models from C200) I’m just thrilled like the Alfa looks. And it’s a rarity on our streets, which is also a plus point for me. Just like the Jaguar. I as a young guy (25) know also that these 2 brands did not necessarily stand for Kvalitet. Has there been anything done? I just don’t want to buy such a, for me expensive device and then be only in the workshop? What would you decide if your budget were up to 23 000 eur? LG

  • Shocked!!!

    Tag people.. am absolutely shocked !!!! I always thought that I have a 351 Cleveland under the hood!! But now the disillusionment..have finally taken a closer look at the engine and I have identified it clearly as 351 Modified (a Cleveland and Modified are hard to keep apart, but I have seen it on the basis of the cylinder heads!! At Cleveland there are 2en for 2bbl and 4ren for 4bbl. Leg Modified stands there M for Modified ) Was there probably too good faith when I bought the thing, because I could be sure it was not a 351 Windsor and the seller specified it was a 70-72 Cleveland installed. So I did not control the very small differences. Was also a US car workshop, and they should know what they were selling… Even if it was about ebay. Well my question: Do I have any possibilities to turn what with the seller ( goods were not properly written out ) ! Seller comes from Switzerland … or you see there black ( what I knew about it was not so well known!).

  • What do you think about central injection instead of carburetor?

    Hello! I saw there is something in a well-known company… Looks like a carburetor has 2 injection nozzles above (looks like that at least) and is installed instead of the original one. Costs about 800 euros… Ask for the reason that I need a new carburetor. If such an injection system still consumes 3 or 4 liters less then I wouldn’t think for long. How the control is still in my mind is still puzzled about all the factors like temp, vacuum etc.. only you need a normal control unit or? Vl knows who is out there….. Would be great! Thank you

  • Classic faults in engine assembly

    Hello! I am currently working on a feature film, which plays for the most part in an Oltimer workshop. And would need help from experienced hobbyists / mechanics There should be a scene in which someone rather inexperienced (but also not completely unsuspecting) should assemble and install a car engine, but at the same time commits a serious mistake – which nobody first notices. Something that can cause real problems later on, so for example, the whole engine will be scrapped if you start the car or there is a risk of an accident. What are the classic mistakes in assembling? Or maybe even someone has experienced something like that? As said: It shouldn’t be a really stupid mistake, but something that can happen if you don’t know enough … The car brand doesn’t matter – the main thing is a (young) oldtimer. Thank you!!!

  • Restoring the car

    Hello everyone, I’ve already got a little bit of advice and read some good questions and answers, but I wanted to talk to the car myself again. I’ve already had a long dream of restoring my own project cart and making it chic, so I’m practically building my dream car myself. However, I’m more lay than experienced in car technology. I’m not completely inexperienced with the engine technology, however, I’m just learning about land and construction machinery mechatronics and doing the maintenance work on my moped myself. However, I’m still not familiar with cars. My mind about the whole thing is now to have a hobby or rather a passion. My question about you now is, what, just as the first project, should be offered for cars and on what I should pay special attention to when buying (The zb rust is a big nick break I know, but what else is there? My taste doesn’t go personally towards the very old German cars, but rather towards the JDM’s from the years 1980/1990. So Toyota Supra, Nissan is a big nick break, but what is necessary for me?
