  • Renewed problem with our vehicle(incl. video)

Hello together, and again our vehicle has a problem. Many of you certainly know our suffering story, which has been going on for four years now. Why and why the car was already almost 20 times in the workshop I don’t want to repeat now, for that I would certainly need several hours. Anyway, our vehicle has been making funny noises for about two weeks now when the engine is switched off. I just uploaded this to Youtube and maybe one of you can say what this might be.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pccTVyzQCw0 LG Mo

  • Water pump, V-belts etc

Hello together, I would like to be interested if someone has had to change their water pump? If so, what is the fun (I mean completely with tension/turning rollers belt) I was told by an acquaintance that this would only be possible in the Volvo workshop because the water pump has to be trained somehow during the new installation with the software or something? I can’t believe that somehow because the W-pump is finally a mechanical part —- gruss attila

  • Long-term experiences V50 – please join !

I thought, after the V50 (of course also the S40 counts) is already a while on the market, we could tell our new readers at a glance how satisfied we are (or not). Fill out this questionnaire about you: Vehicle: V50 Motorization: T5 KM-Stand: still innocent 15’700 First registration: 22.3.2005 Satisfied in %: now 100 flaws: The first friend was not able to recreate the Xenon’s and repair the drooling washing nozzle. After the 2nd attempt at the 2nd friendly one everything worked wonderfully. Improvement suggestions: Laderraumrollo – Mulde for umbrella is too deep, in general the boot design is too deep. Would you buy your car exactly at the same time? Oh Yes!

  • Pull off wheel bearings

Moin municipality, now I am at my V70 year 1999 so far for the wheel bearing change front. Here in the forum stood, you need a 36 key Got the actually not needed or does that still come? Did yesterday the disc , saddle… taken out, now I have to remove somehow d. wheel bearing pot, but first push out the drive shaft, the question is: – do you need a puller or do you only do this with knocking? – you need later for the shaft still metal glue, can I take an x-anything? Thank you

  • Urgent question about the timing belt installation !!!

Hi, I had the timing belt renewed with my elk and now it makes shrill roaring noises. I was already in the workshop, which has disassembled everything again. The workshop was quite sure that it is due to the timing belt covering. After they have disassembled everything again to look at the coils and water pump, they didn’t know anything further, they all built up again and now the shrill roaring sound is still there, but probably less. Now they push it on the timing belt themselves. Can anyone explain how a timing belt alone can make noises? My other question would still be whether my Volvo is setting itself hydraulically, so the timing belt or if it has to be adjusted, someone knows that? Data about the Volvo in “My vehicles”. Thank you and greeting

  • Maintenance-friendliness V70 III

I’ve been driving my Volvo V70 II for 2.5 years now. Overall, I’m super satisfied with the car, because there were only a few repairs and they were always done very well by myself. Reperature-friendliness is very important to me. With the V70 II, screws have never been totally screwed and I have rarely broken away any plastic part. I like many solutions such as the fixing of the door panels by means of reusable push pins. But what bothers me very much about the car is the huge turning circle as well as the high seating position or the low front window. So I don’t hit the sky with my 1.9m head for a long time, but the view outside is very limited, so I always have to bow down to traffic lights. Therefore I wanted to look at the successor V70 III times. I’ve already read a lot about this, but I could hardly find any estimates about the maintenance-friendliness. How does it look like, can anyone tell me here whether he is as nicely maintenance-friendly as the V70 II or even difficult to repair?

  • Snow chains on the Phaeton

Need some advice again. I’m going on a ski holiday soon and there is also a snow chain obligation, because you could not reach the hotel without snow chains. On my Phaeton 19 inch Champion rims are mounted. I bought winter tyres for this now, because these rims should become my winter bikes and I would like to buy a few other rims than summer bikes in the summer next year. Now I’ve been looking everywhere and asked, but it was only told me for this wheel size there are no snow chains because chains are not allowed with this wheel size because there is too little space in the wheel housing. Does anyone have any idea about the topic? Can’t buy extra smaller rims and new winter tires now just in order to be able to pull the snow chains on them for 1 holiday a year. In addition, there is still enough space in the bike box with me…. Besides, I still noticed that only 17 inch rims are registered in my vehicle license. But the 19 inch Champion were already standard as a special equipment. Will not necessarily get problems there if I am stopped. Thanks for all advice.

  • New ACC error???

Good evening, I have a 2008 V8 and I’m actually very satisfied (laughing after only my old V10). However, I have recently the problem that my ACC fails after 1 minute. In the display ACC error. Was already in the workshop to read out the error memory. Entry (similar wording): Electromagnetic interference. The employee at the friendly was also surprised and didn’t know what it was. Now I have an appointment soon, because the error occurs again and again. What still occurred to me, and he did not do that before. Every time I restart the car and leave as soon as I meet a vehicle, the display “ACC off” shows even though it is turned off. Does anyone have an idea what that can be? Greeting Markus

  • The clock to the G!

Hello, there are G – lovers and watch lovers, and sometimes both in one person. For the latter, of course, the question arises, which watch to wear to the G? All the others please click away now! So, now we are watch lovers among us! Here is my suggestion for a nice G compatible watch: The GRAHAM Chronofighter Diver 1000 ft. Like my G completely in black, large, hard, well readable and equipped with sufficient watt depth. The stop watch is also to be operated with gloves, if it should be a bit more robust again. And the rubber band also does not take the following laundry with the high pressure cleaner crooked. Dear watch and G – friends, shows nevertheless also which watch, of course depending on the situation – outdoor or opera – you wear so to the G. OpenAirFan

  • XC70 just ordered!!!

Hello together, I just ordered a new XC 70 (still in time for the price increase:-) And that’s: XC70 D5 185 PS summum (have much to and fro) manual gearbox saphierblack-metallic glass sliding roof RTI integrated phone side panes darkened switchable airbag front passenger side smoker package speed-dependent power steering What else is missing: trailer clutch winter wheels 4-c I saved myself, because during the test drive the XC did not “waggle like a cow ash” as written. Compared to my current car I could not see any negative sides on the chassis. Well, as satisfied as our BMW with sports suspension it is not on the road, but that is also another category of car. The BMW stuck last week in a snowweed and can only be “removed” with a trecker. I hope that I can play the trecker in the future:-) But I also have questions to you. How does it look like with the average consumption of fuel for my winter time?
