Hello, I bought a Mistubishi Carisma, 100,000km, TÜV/AU new, 1 year warranty (no warranty, but right guarantee!) from the dealer, 2750,- Euro. It is the LX model, 3/99 EZ, where the heating control is still offset, so the 3 controllers are not in a row. I hope you know what I mean. 1.8 GDI 125 hp. With climate. Does it work. Have just a few questions: – When is or was the timing belt due? There is no check booklet, should I also change the V-belts. – Does the cracking of the hydros stop at some point? During the test drive, this became quieter after 2 minutes, but didn’t stop completely. I have a guarantee, but the dealer said that this would be normal for Japanese cars if they had stood for a long time. With my Audi Coupé, the cracking was the hint of the broken camshaft. I tried to post something at dreamcarisma.de, but that wasn’t possible. So I ask here. Otherwise, I would still like to know how to retrofit fog lights. ann, because the box has unfortunately none. Does someone help me? Thank you! Ralf

Questions about the Grand Cherokee 5.2 V8
Hello together! Have already asked me about a Grand Cherokee. Have now another one in view. The mechanic from my dad sells it very cheaply. The car makes a very good impression so far. Technically everything also works, only the cruise control can not be activated. Here briefly the basic data: Grand Cherokee 5.2 V8 170.000km Year of construction 1995 2. Property Black / Beige The car is presented fresh and gets another service. .500 Euro So, now the problem: The gears from the automatic transmission switch so far clean and without problems. However, if I give full throttle in the stand and the vehicle wants in the second switch it sounds like the gear is “put in” with force. Even if I press the kick down in the second gear everything sounds quite funny. As I said, if I drive normally nothing happens so far, problem only with full throttle between the first and second gear. What do you think? Greetings Pascal edit: Get the car for the test drive all next week. Then you will also do a purchase check at the ADAC / ÖAMTC!

Boxster test in 24 hours (continued from TT to 987?)
Here my experiences with the boxster for 24 hours: A very nice sales consultant in the PZ HH center presses with a key in the hand. Sport seats make sense. On the whole, however, I have the feeling that despite full leather, the interior seems inferior to me. The TT already has a very nice and highly wet cockpit with many large parts brushed aluminum. So on to the driving test. Ignition key turned and : Wrummm! OK, the sound comes from the back and is quite tired! I’m used to something similar from my MTM sports exhaust on the TT. Then gear in and off. I let it go quietly to get to the car steering is good and direct, but I can’t really feel 60 more Porsche PS in city traffic. I also fight a little with the shift lever, which keeps on the way from the 2nd into the 3rd gear on the cone between 1st and 3rd gear (it’s probably a bit of a habit). So I bubber the boxster through HH for an hour and then park it in my underground garage. When I drive into the TG I hear the much more voluminous sound. OK, de r Engine sound fits even without sports exhaust system! Park the car and do the suitcase aumtest. The golf bag really fits in the back!!! Just the purchase has become a little more likely (The TT swallows 2 golf bags and luggage for 1 week, but is also a coupé) So I go into my apartment and pellet myself out of my suit and put on something more comfortable. I also pack my jacket and a baseball cap with. The Ipod is also included. Again in the boxster, wrummmm! I’m getting used to driving through the dense city traffic towards the highway. It’s funny that the Boxster doesn’t really pull… have the feeling that the TT is not much slower or weaker… Finally I’m on the BAB heading north. Speed limit 120 km/h. At some point the favorite sign comes: Free ride! I step through in the 5th gear fully and well, let’s get in front of me… up to 180 km/h. At the end of the construction site I bravely put in the 2nd gear and step through. Holà!!! Now we are talking!!! I turn up to 7,000 turns and then throw in the 3rd gear. So you have to drive a boxster!!!!! At the TT, the “Sweet Spot” is between 2,000 – 4,500 turns. With the boxster it starts only from 4,500. I could have tried that earlier 😉 Finally I felt good enough to try out more speed. In between, I was slowed down by a bit of traffic (permanent left-handers who forget to drive back to the middle lane after the overtaking). Then the hood of a new Mini Cooper S appears at my rear. OK, let’s see when the blow goes out… Again the gears turned out nicely and for my taste not enough distance to the mini won. Why isn’t it really much smaller in my rearview mirror? From 245 km/h I get away from him slowly, abe r the traffic and my caution slow me down again. On a really straight piece I step through again up to 255 km/h. The mini could keep up to 230 well and must have been so from 240 at the limit. I Max from at 255 km/h because I don’t trust myself anymore and still a bit of traffic is on the road. The boxster is very sate and quiet on the road. I never have an unsafe feeling. Quite the opposite. Rather the feeling of total control! Only the brakes are no Here the TT is also very good. I have the feeling that the boxster brakes well, but not as direct and hard as the TT. At the boxster you simply have to climb hard on the pedal when a correct delay is used. The mini then overtakes me on a 120 piece at Lübeck and has a wide grin. I wave to him kindly and see that he has a (like pale) lady next to him on the seat. At his rear there was a sticker with 3 sockets. Taben (estimated, it was the name of the tuning company that made the bock “Fett”) So quite honestly. Respect and everything, but in such a small and high box I don’t want to drive so fast!!! And then still with escort… Now I nozzle the Bundesstrasse 76 towards Timmendorfer Strand. The clouds light up but it is only 17 degrees. I stop briefly in a parking bay, put on my jacket and the cap and open the cover. Sitting heating and heating fully on. Otherwise I would in the weather Never do, but that’s also a test drive!!! Turn up the radio (via IPod) and look forward to the very good sound of the sound package. Finally I drive 3 times in Lübeck (actually wanted to drive the 75 back to HH) roll towards A1 and close the cover on the driveway to the A1. Very practical!!!! At some point the Xenon headlights of a SLK appear in the rearview mirror and finally pass by me. I use this opportunity to give again really gas, since the At 250km/h it pulls over and lets me pass. The next 15-20 km are relatively straight with a few long curves and stretched hills. The SLK followed me, but not as light-footed as the Mini before. But now I also felt much more comfortable in the Boxster and also had the right gear at the right speed. This SLK seems to have been very slow. It was probably “just a 350” in the AMG 55 design, but it couldn’t be normal. Not with a 240 hp boxster! When I had 265 km/h on the digital speedometer I was constantly running away from it. Even a controlled AMG 55 with an experienced driver would be dependent on it… Close a 120 km/h border sign rushes past me and I test the bite of the brakes. O K, you just have to step on it properly, then pack them too!!! I ride comfortably at 130 km/h until the exit, but will be overtaken quite rapidly by the SLK… On the way from the highway I drive then in smaller corridors home. Now the boxster moves also as I had imagined it. When I then got into my TT, I first noticed the right difference. You just have to feel and learn boxster driving!!! I write my conclusion after ic Oh yes, I’m not actually a full-speed driver. My travel speed is usually 160 – 180 km/h. I do such full-speed driving very rarely, but for the test ride it was part of it!

99s/2000 Boxster S?
Moin! Since it looks like I’m going to get a boring company car in the foreseeable future, I’m thinking about what “for the heart” to treat myself to. I first thought of a low-cost, used Boxster S. The range of vehicles starting from 1999 / 2000 seems to be quite plentiful. The vehicles then have about 60TKM – 100TKM on the clock. Can you buy such a thing without hesitation? What price (with leather and xenon) is realistic for accident-free vehicle? Are there certain things, Which I should pay attention to with the model? Or are the early construction years of the Boxster S per se not recommended? How often does a part of the service and how expensive are these? With thanks in advance and in hope of abundant suggestion, Markus.

Engine damage danger Boxster ???
I came to the decision to buy a 986S a short time ago. So when I searched the internet for models I fell on the almost every second used one carries a replacement engine under its hood. May I conclude that the engines from approx. 100000 km of mileage destroy themselves or is the quality of this model not the one that corresponds to a real Porsche.? Please advice? Do I have to pay attention to anything for the purchase? Or should I rather buy a SLK or Z4 and (due to quality)? Would be grateful for answers!
