I am looking for experiences and product tips for cleaning/degreasing/degreasing vehicle parts. e.g. A sheet metal part to sandblasting is a common method. But like e.g. I clean a greasy and rusty part ? Sandblasting is only externally applicable and can not clean a very greasy part normal degreasing/cold cleaner does not remove rust. In addition, it allows rubber parts to soften, or even dissolves them. Is there a useful liquid material which also removes rust ? In the USA Is it possible to give one or the other means, among other things, with phosphoric acid. see e.g. http://www.navybrand.com/degreasers.html Overnight the part insert, rust and oil are removed. Prima for carburettors, axle parts, engine parts…etc. Are these chemical clubs also available here (D-Land) ? My new part scrubber is waiting for work. Dirty parts are abundant 🙂

Help with assessment
Good day, my mother, recently 80 years old, has been thinking about getting a new Porsche. She has been driving a red 993 Carrera 4 Coupé Bj. 95 for more than 20 years, which she bought as an annual car at the time. In the meantime, however, she does not drive the car anymore, since the clutch is too hard for her and therefore even switching in the city traffic is too exhausting. In addition, there have been a lot of minor problems lately. n new steering gear, the old Navi didn’t work anymore and there were problems with the air conditioning. These problems are all fixed by now. However, she thinks to separate herself from the old one and buy a newer model with automatic transmission. She asked me what I think of this 991 4S Cabriolet. However, I don’t know about newer Porsche at all. I know that I don’t have to look for the engine in the front and then it will be again soon. Can you give me your assessment of the car? Is there any special equipment for the 911 models that you absolutely have to have? So for everyday life, not the race track. As I said, I have no idea at all about it. I don’t know what the car cost again, but 100,000€ for a 5 year old car is already a lot of money. I’m used to other value losses from Mercedes. Would that be an acceptable price for such a car in general? And far away from the ne uen Auto: How do you see that, would you give this beautiful old Porsche even for such a “any” new one? She means practically no matter where she goes with the one, they would always ask people if she doesn’t want to sell her Porsche. I would probably keep the old one in her place. However, this is of course her own decision and if she can’t drive with that anymore, it doesn’t make any sense either. Swabia

Recommendation Boxster, needed.
Hello, after I picked up a brand new 986 with 2.5 liters in the factory quite exactly 20 years ago and gave it back after 3 years I think about buying one again. I liked the 986-er, but I have now learned that a used 986 is probably not the best choice. Without taking into account the amount of a budget, which used boxster would buy the one a Porsche connoisseur? My goal is no more and no less than necessary for a car too pay that will accompany me for a few years, as a summer and garage car. More than 5000km a year I will probably not drive with it Thank you already in advance for your tips!

W220 Electricity thief = central clearance
Hello have a question to the Mercedes specs ! Have somewhere a power thief located at the battery it is not it has been replaced by a new one and the error is the same, it may be that the car pulls electricity somewhere because I do not lock the car ? leave it almost open because the key has gone kaput and I only have a “workshop key”. can it be that because the battery is drawn empty within 2 hours ?

Big Winter Car Searched
Hello, since I only own a convertible and soon a big move is about to happen, I would like to buy a large winter car. The best would be a combination with all-wheel drive from year 2000 onwards. I think of the Audi A6 C5 Avant and the Passat 4Motion as spontaneous. Best as diesel. Do you have any further suggestions or ideas? How reliable are the two vehicles?

Porsche 911 Import from UK (left-hand handlebar)
Is there anyone who has already had experience with an EU import from UK (LHD) Left hand drive Porsche 911? According to the Audi Forum for A5 and Q5 there are already good experiences over the last months with an Audi representative in Watford. There are currently such experiences also for the import of a 911 from the Greater London area. The savings over the exchange rate looks very tempting!

Help!
Hello dear members, I urgently need advice from experts. Hope you can help me here.. A few days ago I had a driving accident (I am the “accident causer” in this case). It was really only a light “stupper”. Neither with my vehicle nor with that of the opposite person can be recognized from outside damages (photo I have). I didn’t come to call the police because I thought there would be nothing (my first accident since my driver’s license 2007 The other driver (older gentleman between 40-50) did not insist on it either. Only data were exchanged. Now the Lord claims that with him the “heating tank is dented and some foam torn” (can not imagine anything under it). With insurance it would cost us allegedly 1200€, if we settled this privately, he insists on 300€. I feel quite fooled. How can it be that inside the car is a bit dented if you don’t even know from outside. How should I proceed? Does it make sense to use the police afterwards? Hope for advice soon. Thank you!

From 2013 onwards, driving licences will only be valid for 15 years
The Federal Republic is once again forced by a European Directive (2006/126/EC) to amend existing laws. However, the Directive will be converted into national law. From 2013 on, newly acquired driving licences will have to be extended after 15 years, the same will later also apply to drivers who have their old driving licence rewritten in the EU card driver’s license, but good news has been given to Transport Minister Tiefensee for the population, there will be no health test. in other European countries (Italy, Spain, the Netherlands), so “only” the usual government costs will come to us.
