  • Properly slow down

Hello! I have been driving an automatic car for about 2 weeks now. I used to use the engine brake very often, which I only rarely do with the new car. I do have Tiptronic and switch off from time to time to use the engine brake, nevertheless I brake significantly more, than with my previous switchcar. Now I wanted to ask how to brake properly. Is it better to brake easily and for that longer or should one brake late and then stronger? feel that the brakes have vibrated more with my cars than with other people. This often comes from the fact that you have warped brake discs, which come from too warm brakes. I want to avoid this now. I am also currently someone who slows down for a long time – not so strong for it. Would be nice if someone knows how to brake the most resource-friendly. // Joscha

  • Noise from the rear tire.

Hello. I bolted on my Punto winter tires a few days ago. Yesterday, after a curve from the rear right wheel, some loud scratch noises came, I even thought that the exhaust fell off. I just tried again, the noises don’t always come, sometimes it just squeaks, so I took off the tire to see if it might be wrong. But if you turn with your hand to the thing where the wheel is screwed , you can hear any noises, as if there was a loose item in the brake or something. Does anyone here know what it might be and whether you can fix it yourself somehow or should I rather drive into the workshop before the brake fails?

  • Service costs / customer service FK8

Hello everyone! After having my FK8 now one year and 8000 km was now also the first customer service due. I had this with my Honda dealer, where I bought my FK8 now carried out. Since my dealer is about 40 km away from me, there was a car rental for one day free of charge. On the whole I am also reasonably satisfied. At the delivery then also an outdoor car wash was offered to me free of charge and is sucked out also the nice I have to say that my Honda dealer has also added a 5 year warranty extension when buying the car. And the condition is that the service is made with him. I still think that this is extremely high for the very first customer service. Even if you take into account the car wash and the suction, which in the wake (feeling) suddenly vacuum cleaners in the interior I have only washed the FK8 by hand so far and am now almost a little appalled. Especially because the car is anything but clean. What do you have here in the forum for experience with customer service with your Honda dealer? And what was paid for the service? Best regards

  • Can we talk about what a groundless impudence infotainment is?

Hi, I’ve had my FK8 for a week now. I’m absolutely thrilled about the car, but what Honda has put on its feet with the infotainment is an absolute impudence. In the first 500km (!!!!) the following things came to my mind: All in only 500 kilometers driven. What should the next 100,000km still happen?! Honestly: I’ve never seen such a careless system before. If the rest of the performance of the car wasn’t so good, I’d like to see it. I’m incredibly frustrated that Honda is producing such a mess, and I hope that the underground quality is limited to infotainment and that at some point the airbags don’t have to be rebooted or the ABS hangs up. How do you see that? Do you have similar problems, or do I just expect too much?

  • How did you drive your type R?

Moin, after I just drove 400 kilometers on the FK8 and now I want to push myself at speeds of over 3500 times, I just wondered how the other one can handle the drive-in. With a friend’s M2 the specification of BMW was extremely strict with x-thousand kilometers only low speeds, then engine and transmission oil change and only then full throttle. As far as I know Honda does not make any specifications regarding a separate drive-in phase, right? One way or another: I have f or I decided to slow it down anyway – even if it’s really hard. How did you do that? The first 2000 kilometers drive like grandma, or just bang gas from the car delivery? Greetings Ralle

  • Retrofit Type R FK8 oil temperature indicator

Hello together, as you certainly know, the Civic Type R FK8 unfortunately lacks an ex factory display for the oil temperature. My workshop master had told me about the possibility of retrofitting, he himself also drives a private FK8. I have now had an oil temperature indicator retrofitted by him due to his advice and experience. For the retrofitting of the oil temperature indicator the following 2 materials are needed: – Koso Coin Thermometer articler: BA067R10 – adapter screw for temperature encoder PT1/8×28 (M14x1.5x15mm) Articler: BG281415 The blue adapter screw is a new oil drain screw. The old one is removed and the new blue one is screwed in. And through this the temperature sensor is inserted into the oil tank. The digital display requires a switched 12V power supply by ignition.

  • Comparison FK2R to FK8

Hello dear people, nice eyes with a used type R. Both of them hardly take anything as a motor, so you have the choice. The following questions I would have read, read a lot here and there rarely came a few comments, therefore here once concentrated. 1. I would be interested in the quality level and the reliability of the type R. So do you have relatively many defects within say 150t km? Or is the type R also a reliable colleague? Is there a difference between Is the FK2R’s predecessor and the FK8 in this respect? The omission of the oil thermometer (or the calculation of the oil temp) e.g. happened as an example in the FK8. What about the general reliability and quality, have they also slowed down? 2.And then another question: How do both trunks fall out, with the newer FK8 there is an indication from the ADAC (https://www.adac.de/…/Honda_Civic_Type_R_GT.pdf), is there such a thing from the predecessor? 3. the engine hood at the FK8 from the driver’s seat (clear, depends on the body length as well and on the seat setting)? And with the FK2R probably not, I guess. Is that different with the current one? 4. Did you have many repairs / angers? E.g. because you ruin the front spoiler in everyday life? Maybe it turns out here, too, that the old or current type R is better in this respect. Thank you, guys! Margay

  • Exciting information about Type R FK8

Good day Love Type R Community I have discovered two “cool” features in the last few days and I thought I’d share them with you. If anyone has found any such things, I’d like to post:Disable Traction Control And no, I don’t mean here just press the button we have in the car but the following combination: 1. Turn on the car 2. Unlock parking brake 3. Press and hold the brake 4. Disable traction control and activate it again (button 2x) 5. Release the brake pedal 6. tighten the parking brake 7. deactivate traction control and re-activate (button press 2x) 8. press and hold the brake pedal 9. deactivate traction control and re-activate (button press 2x) Now the traction control on the top left of your tacho should flash the lamp in a very fast clock. This is the only way to completely deactivate traction control. Now you can pull beautiful burnouts as shown in the attached video. (Has worked ha honda Civic Type R FK8 Burnout10th GEN Civic Burnout Guide Speed limit in the stand You all know the “neighborhood mode” of Honda. It is not possible to turn the Honda up in the stand, on 4K tours the engine swallows in the empty. Well by chance I found out that this was only regulated in the inserted 1st course or “without gear” of Honda. You can insert the reverse gear, hold the clutch and so turn the Honda up. Although it remains here also at 4K hä ngen, but comes as in a speed limiter which sounds really cool with my Remus system (video follows). I know these are not everyday tips and whether these two functions hurt your car or not everyone needs to know for themselves. But maybe this is interesting for one or the other.

  • R14 on R13?

I have a few short and pretty stupid questions, which Google could not really answer after a long search…I’m totally layer The specialists here can answer this right away. It’s a Corsa C Bj.02 (1.0), on which previously 175 65 R14 tyres were on it. For the Corsa C (1.0) there is the 5Jx13 steel rim and the 5.5Jx14 steel rim, is that so far correct? My real question is: Is it theoretically possible that it is a 5Jx13 stah I don’t know. My question is that it’s not possible at all, so for the “tire assembler” (workshop) who pulls the tires onto the rim it’s sunny clear or can he also overlook what and put the 14″ tires on a 13″ rim without seeing anything big? And another small question…do I have a chance to see which dimens in a mounted condition? is it the 5Jx13 or the 5.5Jx14? Possibly by measuring if I remove the wheel caps?
