  • Does low mileage cause problems?

Dear Foristi, For a few days I have been the proud owner of a Cadillac DeVille built in 1966. The vehicle only has a mileage of 33,000 miles. Whether the car has driven only little during these 48 years each year or whether there have been years in which it was not moved at all, I cannot say. Can it not be that with this low mileage in the tank, in the transmission oil tank and in the engine oil tank, residues have formed, which are now being flooded when the vehicle is running Is there therefore a risk that such flooded residues will damage the automatic transmission and the engine? Is it not advisable, therefore, to completely expand the engine oil tank and transmission oil tank and to check, if necessary, to clean it? Or is it enough for a simple oil change? WIe can I inspect the tank for any residue? Is there something like a mini camera that can be looked up? Does anyone have experience with a vintage car with such low mileage? maybe just coughing the fleas? Thank you for your efforts

  • Oldtimer Searched

I am looking for a reliable vintage car, which I can use 1-2 times a week for the way to work (about 60 km back and forth (motorway and road)) and sometimes on weekends. My budget is 14,000 €. I don’t care if it’s a diesel or petrol, but the consumption should not be extremely high. Since the car is supposed to serve as a second vehicle, it can also be a bit fun, but at the same time be reliable. with certain models? Thanks for your tips!

  • KTM Lc4 tilt lever broken

Hello dear community, I’m new here in the forum and I haven’t found a solution for my problem so far, so I quickly explained my problem with my KTM LC4 400 bj. 96. My KTM didn’t kick on anymore, so I just wanted to adjust the valves and I noticed that the outlet valves don’t move. Then I wanted to take a look at the camshaft and I noticed that the tilting lever for the outlet valves is broken. E I have already found a replacement, but do I need to know why the tipping lever is just so broken? Are the valves hit on the piston? Thanks already in advance Miklas

  • Starting difficulties KTM EXC 250 2T 06

Hello to everyone am new here and have a big problem, It is a KTM EXC 250 2T Mj 2006 To the background: I had the engine overhauled in winter (pistons, KW bearings etc.) it was only the engine gone, so without frame and attachments when I had assembled everything again it went naturally on test drive, ran also everything well, something strange was only that it needed significantly more fuel than before. During the 2 test ride the problems started: I am a bit u I then changed the candle at home and then it ran again. At the next exit the same problem, no gas acceptance and again nothing went on. I then checked the membrane and found that they did not close properly. So then new membrane came in and now nothing at all. Have the Zün dfunken controlled and had to find out that there is no one there anymore!!!!! Therefore I measured the ignition coil and this was defective. Secondary winding had a resistance in the M/ohm range, instead of in the K/ohm range. Ok other ignition coil in and it at least jumped on, ran about 20 sec and then went out with a misignition. After that I changed the ignition box (was from an SX 250 2003) and it did not jump on. Good still remained the ignition current and ignition coil. measured to resistance and the values were in the target areas Ignition current coil approx. 15 ohms Ignition source coil approx. 100 ohms. I also changed the complete carburetor to exclude it, but it still didn’t start. Now I slowly don’t know any more and ask myself the question how a secondary winding of the ignition coil can break? Had someone ever had such problems or do you have another tip what I can check. Thanks

  • Decision-making aid: Cayenne

Hello, I am currently looking for the right car and I would be interested in your experiences and possibly also suggestions. Short to me, I am currently driving a BMW 535d from 2008, am very satisfied with the car, however I have a shepherd dog and despite already cover etc. it is no longer portable to take him permanently on the back seat. Otherwise, I just finished studying and have now taken a new job, therefore the money also plays a little role with me . For my 535d I would still get estimated about 26,000,- EUR, the new car should cost about 30,000-32.000,- EUR, so that still reserves are available. A station wagon is too unspectacular to me, so I thought that I was looking in the SUV segment where I noticed that the Cayenne has become relatively cheap, so I take it into the tighter search. Now to my questions: The Cayenne should of course be as young as possible, until 45,000 km have run and within the price segment There are also a lot of offers, mostly in 2007-2008 model Cayenne or Cayenne S. I currently drive about 1500 kilometers a month, rather a few more than less, to 50% highway, 40% country and 10% city. Can one recommend a Cayenne with this year of construction quite still? And if yes, rather the Cayenne or the S-version? Also with regard to consumption. Can someone make comparisons with the running costs e.g. inspection, brakes etc. ? As far as I am info rmiert have not been much higher than if I now drive into the workshop with an X5 or even Audi A6. I would be very happy about a few answers. Greetings, Alex

  • CIVIC 2006 – the madness

Hello, first of all. If there is already a similar “thread-thread” ;o) here, then sorry, mea culpa. As you can see below, I usually roam around in other areas of MT. On the long weekend I saw for the first time the `06 CIVIC live on the road (parked). After my first reaction (wazdazden?), I was very excited. Yesterday afternoon first to the HONDA dealer and put in. Madness, I say only WHNSINN! I had always thought that I was in Sa A rational thinking person (at least everyday vehicles) who seems to have once been Since there is a change of vehicle at the end of ’06 or beginning ’07 anyway, this vehicle is “top of the list” . This will certainly not be the last time I come to speak here! (should not be a threat) Greeting, Marc

  • Smartphone holder

Dear people, As 97 1100 RT-man, and since I haven’t driven around with a smartphone yet, and just got a Motorola G4 (which also has the Google Navi in it), I wanted to ask you if you have tips for the mount. e.g. with or without Waterproof case? or does the key feel not quite…? the side buttons? with or without sun protection?, with or without USB connection (to load)? with Bluetooth connection to the headphones (for directions)? od he can do this without? with or without vibration protection? better screwed directly to the handlebar bolts or is the “bike holder for something round” completely sufficient as a connection to the bike? Under 25K vibration is one thing that you might have to consider here, since in the city you rarely get beyond it, even with nicely balanced carburettors, and in the city you need the Navi most. am complete beginner in these things. Do you have advice/experience here? I w who of you is using the smartphone solution? e.g. without charging connection, does this work (battery-like) at all? Can you use a plug (12V) for this? maybe you have already dealt with it a thousand times, but I’m throwing it again in the round. I have it before business trips across De to Berlin and would like to make things a little easier! Thank you… Callum

  • BMW R50/2

Good day My R50/2 has a problem. It does not accept the gas. The carburettors are synchronized and the spark plugs are new. It also starts without problems. Super idle. I have already tried different nozzles in the carburettor and there was no improvement. I suspect that the ignition coil or the dynamo does not work anymore. How can I check them? Someone also told me that the swimmer eventuel has a crack and thus you don’t want the gas. anz, since the swimmer only makes sure that petrol comes into the float chamber. If someone has a tip and knows the problem with the gas acceptance. Thanks Urmel
