First involuntary drift with the Phaeton
Hello from the ice-cold, snow-covered Bavarian forest. So that everyone knows what comes to them in the case of a case, here a short demolition. When I drove towards a large clear crossing yesterday evening in the event of rising darkness I had switched on the ACC and wanted to slow down the thickness with the button. Unfortunately, this went a little too slow but it was far and wide no car to see. So I just before the crossing (I wanted to turn right) slightly kicked the brake. Since it was a little smooth I put a 20m drift on all fours. Unfortunately, I underestimated the weight a little bit, but otherwise I am not a careless driver. If there are vehicles I let such tests be. The Phaeton breaks out at the rear lightly and very controllable and slips away at the front too, the ESR regulates discreetly and tries to stabilize. Depending on whether it is only slippery or mirrored, it regulates more or less. With a light and soft counter steering movement I have continued the ride at 90 degrees angle, first with the half of the car on the road.

Phaeton with hybrid
Hello dear community! How is the VW Group dealing with the alternative drives? Audi obviously has real problems offering a hybrid in the A8. There’s probably nothing in the Phaeton either. There’s nothing to find on the homepage. Maybe I missed something too. Mercedes-Benz has the S400 Hybrid, BMW offers the X6 with hybrid drive. But on the VW/Audi pages … there’s nothing to find. The new A8 comes with 4.2 TDI and FSI engine – no hybrid! Too bad, the competition runs away again with seven-mile boots and then you wonder why this happened / happened. Does any of you know anything more?

Odd sound of gas-giving
Hello, I came home a bit worried today. And I noticed that something in the front (probably engine room or even the engine itself) rattles pretty much after the gas-give. If I let it really turn up to about 3000 upm zb. and then walk away from the gas, the ratter stays the longest, about 3-4 seconds. Then everything is normal again and the engine runs quiet. I wanted to find out exactly where it comes from, but as soon as I am in front of the car it is gone again^^ So the course is: giving gas – gas away – an eyelash after the speed is again idle starts for 1-4 seconds the ratter (depending on how high I had it turned before). I have never noticed the noise before, therefore I am particularly worried now. For clarification I made a recording and attached here. Most clearly you can hear it at the end of the recording. Data: Phaeton V10 TDI, almost 140 tkm, service in 400 km. (Here a short 2nd question: Is it particularly bad when I refer to the service of 6 km. I really can’t express my greetings to Vienna.

Brake light too bright??
Is the brake light of the P. too bright? Are you familiar with similar reactions? I have heard the following: I am standing at a closed level crossing at the weekend, it was evening and therefore already dark, about 1 minute with the foot on the brake and the backman is noticeable by blinding up. I get out and ask what is going on. Then I got the “friendly” answer: What are these nice lights? I answered the nice driver in his Italian walking aid (Fiat Panda – certainly already ? years old), that this is about diode lights and these just shine better. This morning now at the red traffic light, the twilight started slowly, a lady felt like wild and then cut down her sunshade. But I want to make it quite clear here: The tail lights of the thick are stylish how functionally in my eyes the best thing I have ever seen on a car. I might also be curious about similar experiences. Greeting Tiger101010

Connected Booster
Hello together, I drive an X3, built in 2016, and have been having problems with the service offered for a year. Unfortunately, the vehicle apps cannot be unlocked. Although I booked and paid for the corresponding package, the apps do not appear in the menu. For example, weather, news and Alexa are affected. Customer support pushes the problem to the 3G shutdown, which is of course nonsense, because this shutdown took place several years ago and not only for a year. What about you? Does the package still work for you? (series until 2016/17 )

Omega 2,2 dti Y22DTH Sealing rings Connectors Diesel line
I’m just about to put an Omega 2.2 dti Bj. back into operation in 2001 after a long service life. I’d like to change all the O-rings of the diesel lines (connectors and filter housings), because I have to re-air it after a short service life. Does anyone know the dimensions of the sealing rings? Unfortunately, I couldn’t find anything. The pipes themselves are rusty in the area of the rear axle. I guess these are no longer available, at least I couldn’t find them. How do you help yourself in such a case? Thank you in advance, Ewald

Function inlet brake
Yesterday, on a 14 month old car transport trailer, I wanted to have the §21 made “still fast”. Data: Empty weight approx. 400kg, tandem axle, ZgG 3200kg. As far as everything is good, until the tester pulled the thing onto the brake test bench and then, what is a joke, wanted to test the brake on the run, namely by placing 2 wheels in the test bench and driving backwards with the car. Of course, nothing went. §21 did not work, trailer traffic-insecure since brake on the run without function. Handbrake and ATC function perfectly. Any attempts of the explanation did not arrive. In my opinion, the run-up brake can not work at all with unladen trailer, the damfper in the run-up device has 5KN (500KG), according to H ersteller this is so that in the unladen condition the run-up brake is not required, on the contrary, it could then result in loss of control on the trailer if the 4 wheels block. Therefore the high resistance. The ATC works. The tester says it is wrong, the tester does not have to rule.

Passenger car trailer: reduce payload to 1,000 kg by increasing the unladen mass
Hello, I would like to buy a new trailer (new vehicle), which has a permissible total weight of 1500 kg. The payload is 1182 kg, the curb weight is 318 kg. In order to save on the insurance, I want the trailer to run with 1000 kg of registered payload. This would halve the insurance contribution (I would slip from the class from 1000 kg to 2000 kg into the class up to 1000 kg). However, I do NOT want the trailer to be loaded in a classic way, but instead I would like to increase the empty weight by 182 kg, to exactly 500 kg. My question: Is this possible? What can I grow more or less meaningfully to bring the empty weight to 500 kg? Is it legal to remove these additionally mounted things after registration (the new empty mass, not the part)? With the insurance I have already spoken. Those it is only about the 1000 kg payload, which are registered. Of course, a tax evasion would not be possible, because on the total mass nothing changes.
