New Mini One! Minimalism yes / no?
Hello dear mini-community, I’m about to change from my BMW 1 to a mini at the beginning of next year. Since I’m still a student and I’m only relatively little (max. 10,000km / year) driving mostly in urban traffic, I decided for cost reasons for the 55kw One. Apart from Alus, the mobile phone preparation with extended connection for the Iphone to the radio (dementically the Radio Boost) & multifunction for the sports leather steering wheel, as well as the package Salt, the car is not expected to be anything. Do you think there is any other equipment that makes sense? Does anyone already have experience with the new Minimalism? Are the 300€ surcharge for the small One? Does it really save more fuel? Dacia Uni-Lacke with clear varnish?
The title says everything… Is there a clear coat of paint on top of the Dacia models (no metallic)? Uni-lacquers are available with and without clear coat (most companies nowadays have clear coat of paint on Uni-Colours). The question is because a clear coat of paint naturally protects. If no one is sprayed on the Uni-Colours on it, a metallic paint is worth keeping the car longer. Purchase advice Pads and polish
Hello together, the black C3 of my better half should get some care… Condition so far (pictures follow): EZ 2004, sometimes laundromat including wax. Status “must drive the rest doesn’t matter”. Since it has to be changed sometime he should get care now. And I was allowed to volunteer. Desired condition: cared for, useful item, small budget, little time. Through the FAQ I have read myself now, as well by various posts. I would say n, in theory I have an overview. Now to the practice.. Present are currently various MFT, Sonax Shampoo, a manual foam bottle, washing glove, 1x Maguire Quick Wax. I can borrow an eccentric machine, to practice my 92 polo is also gladly available in black (which has it even more necessary). Asks itself now the question about the suitable pads, polish, finish. Then he comes to his car and behind him stops a car whose driver B has filled and bought a ticket for the washing system when paying. The driver B is angry. ————— Other case: Driver A wants to wash his car at the car wash / car wash of the gas station. Panda 30,000 km brake discs defective – no culling
Hello, last week I noticed that my Panda (bj 2010, 30.000 km driven) makes a loud noise when braking. I drove to the next workshop (a pitstop) and had a look what it is. The mechanic said that the brake pads and the brake discs at the front left are completely finished. He also did not let me drive and repaired the car the same afternoon. He put the broken parts in my car as proof. The brake caliper had after I asked if you didn’t have to see it during the inspection. He said no, that happened at short notice. He specifically said that this was not normal wear, since the brake discs are only due from approx. 100,000 km. (He cleaned the caliper, then it was possible again). The whole cost 210 euros (and that was probably no longer necessary). I called my Fiat dealer today and asked if there was anything to be done with the guarantee. Whether I could get the money back. He said no. On the grounds that… 1. Brakes only up to 15,000 km warranty would have been made at Fiat and 2. I did not have the inspection done at a FIAT dealer. During the inspection this should have been noticeable. I am pissed off! What can I do? I thank you in advance for advice.

The benefits of the RX-8
After divesren topics are only arguing about the engine, I thought it was time to open up a topic in which everyone can post something about the postive sides of the RX-8. Things like high fuel consumption, low pull-through force, lame acceleration therefore don’t belong here. I guess I’ll start with the most obvious: the car looks (in my opinion) very good, is in itself harmonious and has beautifully large tires. The circuit i st first cream, very direct and short switching distances. And what I also found amazing during the test drive was the extremely small turning circle (my Leon has almost one like a truck). So, now the rest is on. And please, please don’t post any negative things and no serious ones, not that one comes up with the idea and interprets the high fuel consumption as an advantage!
