  • Meeting in Dortmund

    Hello C4 community, the meeting today in Dortmund with Kaiser-Wetter was very interesting for me. We were with 4 Coupe’s and 3 Limo’s at the meeting point. There were very nice people here from the forum also with attachment as well as friends. They had a good conversation and exchange. For the first time we had a lot to talk about and of course also to listen. Well, what was unfortunately completely forgotten over the hours were photos of Allen and a small C4 Corso through Dortmund.   • Subaru XV 2.0i Automatic vs. Opel Mokka

    Hello Since my Honda CR-V (1999, automatic, gasoline) has given up after 200’000 km and 15 years (automatic gearbox broken), I should buy a new car. In question the Subraru XV 2.0i petrol engine would come. I like the car, but I still have to test it. I read last article here about the Subaru XV and it seems to be very many people happy here. That would be a positive point. However, the Opel Mokka would also come into question. Its technical property (acceleration, consumption, 4×4, appearance, size, price) are quite similar to the Subaru XV (although I’m quite car-like). Well, someone can say something about why you shouldn’t opt for the Opel? And what about spare parts? Are spare parts for European cars not cheaper in Europe when something breaks, if the warranty is through (what might be said for the Opel or perhaps another European car)? Skodas are still in the Upswing (Skoda Octavia would also be an alternative).

  • Knocking noise from the engine (piston tipper?)

    When my outback is cold, the engine produces knocking noise, which I cannot clearly assign. In idle they are very quickly over (approx. 5sec), but as soon as I put on R or D, you can hear it clearly again. When the engine is warm, the knocking becomes significantly lower. It is then only very easy to hear in idle, as soon as you give some gas you can not make out the noise under the other engine noises. Come on from the left side, cylinder No. 1. No I don’t know if this is a valve setting or a piston tipper. I exclude bearing damage, you would hear it all the time. The engine is otherwise silky soft, has no oil consumption and the power is also right. As far as I have read this in English forums, a piston tipper is by no means unusual at Subaru and no reason to worry, it is simply annoying. Greetings, Zeph

  • Leasing take-over run correctly?

    Hello, I have now leased a car for the first time and took over the car yesterday from the car dealership. The value of the car was indicated in the lease agreement by the bank at 44,500 EUR, but now it turned out at the handover yesterday that the car has some scratches around it, I have also meticulously documented it and had it confirmed by the car dealership. Photos sent to their e-mail still on site and have me confirm receipt of the mail in writing, otherwise i yesterday, during the journey home, it turned out that the car does not have a dead-angle assistant as stated, and also the lane holding assistant only works unilaterally. Now my question: Is it still possible in retrospect to have the value of the car in the leasing contract corrected still downwards or is the value of 44,500 EUR now carved in stone, since despite the detected scratches this one with my signature b I intend to have a counter-assessment done. Or would I have had to arrange all this before the signature? Especially as far as the scratches are concerned, they were obvious and also determined by me. My fear is now that I signed too quickly and can’t say anymore, Hey, the car has a lot of scratches and is not 44,500 EUR worth, please correct that!     Hello I’m looking for an OBD2 device for private use. At the moment I want to use it for a Volvo V50 and where e.g.: – read out error codes – RDS sensors read out values and learn new sensors – activate / deactivate daily As far as I have seen, there is good support around the Autel devices. ICh momnetan but have no insight into the model. There are the devices with MK, IM, DS, MX, MS, MP abbreviations at the beginning.
