  • Charger maintenance comfort battery

Hi, there would have been a question about the charging maintenance of the comfort battery. In the trunk is such a socket with cigarette lighter connection. Can I connect the charger there or does this have to be done in a garage from an external socket? Question because the original charger of Mercedes is just such a cigarette lighter connection. If I plug it in in the car it would charge in the circuit and unload itself again, because the charger is the power to charge from the B atterie takes and gives again. Or do I think wrong there, and this socket is only for refrigerated chests etc.? Kind regards

  • 420SL : Can it be the heat exchanger? It will be very warm in the interior.

Hello Mercedes friends, coolers and thermostats are new. This as an introduction 😉 Unfortunately the interior heat problem still exists. Heating stands on “cold”, but from the vents in front of the windscreen and from the 2 side nozzles still comes very warm air. If I turn the blower up, it is as if a hot Sahara wind blows into the interior. The company that changed the cooler thought it could be the heat exchanger. Is it still a new part ? Do you really have to remove the dashboard / center console for replacement or removal? Who has had a comparable repair or made it yourself? Or is the assumption “heat exchanger” simply wrong and the problem lies elsewhere? Do not actually have to “disassemble” the interior. Thank you for your answers. Greetings Kurt Mercedes 420 SL without air conditioning, BJ 2/1986

  • Comfort battery discharges too fast

Hello together, when I lock the vehicle (SL350 Built. 2004) over the remote control is after a few days the comfort battery unloaded. It is a Silverline AGM and new, the previous banner was therefore not at the end. If I leave the vehicle unlocked everything is good, the battery does not discharge. The alarm system, which is often described here as a causer, has not been triggered so far … Whether I should change the alarm siren anyway ? Thank you and best regards Werner

  • R129: Lamp control light / ground error?

Good day to the round The topic ‘lamp control light’ has already been discussed many times – is obviously not always comprehensible or difficult to limit, why and what the thing ‘warns’. My question: In my R129 / Bj 91 the lamp warns when switching on stand light / dipped light – at the same time the luminosity for example of the displays in the instrument cluster decreases. What does this mean? Mass error? And: With the often quoted trunk light the lamp flickers despite the sc support position on ‘off’ still easy…Mass mistakes here too? Does anyone know how to interpret these phenomena? Thanks for hints! Greetings from Jürgen

  • Stinger family-friendly?

Meal, I’m currently driving a Ford Kuga and a Citroen C4. The Stinger really did it to me. Great car, only in Berlin don’t feel like I can look around. How well do children’s seats (2), strollers and egg shopping fit in? How about the headroom in the rear? I’m 190cm tall. Thank you for the answers. I’d be happy about interior pictures.

  • Tension roller timing belts axial play normal?

Hi, I have problems with noises from the engine compartment and strongly suspect that it comes from the timing belt drive I recently renewed. I have now installed the second timing belt set from Bosch, but still the same problem. Can anyone tell me if the axial game of the tensioning roll is so fine. I measure 2mm game. Here’s a video to illustrate:https://youtube.com/shorts/RqihmI6o4IM?si=SGFW-Z55fnS0Ml- And yes, in the vehicle, under tension, it had the same game. S o sounds like the whole thing then:https://youtube.com/shorts/fgpRGjicrrY?si=6iiOKZIewmZNGsXD The timing belt cover also has abrasion spots, so much so that the thing has been iced in the car. I already contacted Bosch and unfortunately got no statement whether 2mm is okay. I should contact the dealer. Well, you know how this ends. I’m very excited about your opinion. Thank you

  • Double loading bottom in CNG up / Mii / Citigo ?

The CNG up / Mii / Citigo does not have a double loading base ex works. However, it seems to me that it is possible to equip it after. The bolt holes for the mountings are already there on the sides. However, the Eco floor plate has to be made a bit tighter on each side so that it fits between the mountings. Experiences ?

  • Running power VW 2.0 TDI engines – Collectable thread

Hello together, I thought that you could – as with other vehicles already available at MT – create a collectable thread, in which we collect our mileage / km stands of the 2.0 TDI engines. Interesting would be the engine identification / CR or PD and the year of construction. We always speculate a lot about the stability of these engines. Why not even collect what it really looks like Who likes, can write significant repairs to it. Maybe the one or the other, m it 400,000 KM or so You could use this template for copying: – mileage: – year of manufacture: – engine identification letter: – power: – defects: – other:

  • Yamaha XS750 Oil Level Kardan

In order to be able to measure the oil level in the final drive and in the deflection gear of the Kardan, a measuring rod is mentioned in the manual or in the repair instruction which has two different lengths. This should normally be part of the original tool set, but is mostly lost. I would like to know whether this measuring rod is still available or how long the two measuring ends are.
