  • Scenic 2 Cold start petrol odour low performance

Hello, I’ve had the following problem with my Scenic 2,Bj.2/2004.1.6/16v 113hp.80000km for a few days.Have had a long time (about 1year with the previous owner).Drive the car since 05/2018.Motor K4M 782: -after cold start in the morning(Kfz stood overnight) it smells after a few meters drive for petrol (no ventilation) and car takes on bad gas (accelerated weakly) as if some hp is missing. After approx.500m drive performance ok and no petrol odor further. 4 spark plugs and 4 ignition coils have already been exchanged.L auftfilter, oil change recently. Uses hardly any oil. Petrol consumption not remarkably high. No error message in the display. Could the injection nozzles be (undicht)? Where can I look for the error? Thanks for notes

  • Bass barrel

I have already built some “bass-barrels” from 10 and 20 l barrels. now it should be abe pure 50l barrel. it is made of alu and I have reinforced it from the inside with 2 stainless steel rings and 2 crosses. now to the first question. how must the barrel be obtained from the inside??? had before the other end of the barrel, where no one should be supposed to use a reflex tube. goes that way, or should you still love an open tube. in the autumn I then have 2 audiobahn DUB 2 woofer left, of which then one should in there. had thought of some part of ebay… as I said, nothing great, do I have to pay attention to something?? thanks to you already ma

  • Experience with all-year tires on a mid-range combi?

In my parking hall there is a Citroën C5 first-generation station wagon. It is an heirloom that I “save” for a relative. The car is rarely driven, it comes together perhaps 5000km a year. I still have two sets of tyres, but both WR and SR are almost 10 years old, so they have to be replaced. Since the two-time bike change is hardly worth it and a new purchase of two sets of tires certainly not at all, I think, the car on all-year tires z With very wintery road conditions, the car is only very rarely used, in the summer you do not drive long distances. On compact graders should by now be very neat all year round tires – but what does this look like on heavy car like the C5 (which weighs well and likes its 1700kg)? Does anyone have experience with GJR on a comparable car? Are there perhaps even emulations for a particular tire?

  • Question to tyre connoisseurs were the summer or winter tires?

I’m discussing another forum about a traffic accident, and someone can say more precisely if the Mercedes winter or summer tire was on it. The video is in large format at second 17-21 you can see the tires very well. http://www.ndr.de/regional/niedersachsen/emsland/accident3351.html

  • Is there a table/feeling rule which tyre width do I drive on certain widths of a rim?

Hello @all, sorry question is so long that this does not fit in the headline! So again: Is there something like a table that tells me which tire width belongs to a certain mouth width of the rim? I mean now not such a list according to factory specification, where different wheel/tire combis are specified by the car manufacturer! But here is an example: I drive a Mercedes CLK 320 W208 Bj 11/98. VA 7Jx16″ with a 205/16″ tire; HA 8Jx!6″ and a 225/16″ Independent of the body, like wide a tyre from the technical side can be so that it fits on a 7;7,5;8;8,5 or 9J rim? and looks still good optically! Is there a so-called rule of thumb? Thanks already in advance and nice WE from the CLK W208 forum.

  • Hardened summer tires bad for the chassis or can they burst?

Hi, I looked at my summer tires today – it’s Michelin Energy, 205/55 R16, now eight years old and still have about 3 mm profile. They were dangers by myself on my Golf V TDI. From the profile I would put them on again (do not drive much at the moment), but: I noticed last year that the tires feel pretty hard. Does (except in the case of rain) a higher risk of a tyre placer or of consequential damage to suspension and suspension exist? for a few expert opinions very grateful. If you are a car driver, please write, then you can better assess the opinion. Thanks already!

  • Gel batteries 3/4 year old completely empty over winter

Good morning dear forum members I have a problem, I don’t know yet with what. Have a Dethleffs 8000 XXL on an Iveco. As every year I run the heating in winter very small however on 220 V wanted to unpack it yesterday (plane) the lifting supports (electric) in and nothing works. Have tested the two gel batteries and my indicator shows me zero Kommanix, I bought the batteries last year. Replacement battery connected and it works. Mei a question actually the charger charges the batteries when I connect 220V. Have connected electric block EBL 99 from Scheidt with an additional charger. All fuses checked on the device all in order. Can check today if really 220V arrive at the electric block. Maybe someone has had the same problem and can give me useful tips. My second question I can recharge gel batteries that are completely emptied or are broken. Please forgive me and don’t make so many foreign words or abbreviations around my ears I am an absolute layman in the field, trust me everywhere but don’t understand it immediately. Thank you very much for your answers. LG Rüdiger

  • Total failure 12V on-board network

Hello, after a strange error with the pathogen line to the alternator (see also here pathogen line I find with horror after successfully believed repair, that the entire 12V net has failed in the living area. Nothing is possible, not even the query on the panel, how charged the living room battery is. All relevant fuses are completely. All cables fixed and mass ok. It has not been worked on. The main switch on the charging unit is except Function. The on-board network is neither switched on nor off. The living room battery has enough power. The main fuse directly on the battery is complete. Can the failure of the 12 V on-board network have to do with the repair on the LIMa or pathogen cable (see LINK above)? Thank you for help!

  • Plastic ornaments

Hello together. I did not find a way to my question about the search, because I lack the appropriate technical term. I have a 1997 TEC and I noticed that the plastic …….. which are located in the aluminum strip, are muddy and have become shorter. Here I am talking about the colored parts that can be pushed out to the left and right. Can someone tell me what they call themselves? Above those are normed at all WoWa and where can one refer to them? Then I am attracted to It looks like you can’t change it so easily. It also looks a bit dirty. Although all the mentioned parts still have their function, they only want to renew it from optical reasons. I thank you for your help. Andreas
