  • Guarantee … Pustecake!

It’s hard to have the first technical problem, you can forget your warranty at KIA. The topic is the brake at the front. I have a blow in the front of the brake discs at (currently under 10,000km). Where, I am completely enigmatic… No accident, no curb”ranger”… As EU vehicle, it is argued, you can push it on the installed brake discs… once become too warm, already delay possible… In urban operation hardly noticeable, but with stronger brakes from rural roads- or highway speed already a proper trembling in the steering wheel. Must definitely be made, if dangerous braking could be critical! KIA says, warranty fails with this mileage, point! Just got me the right parts in the net and let it change from inexpensive screwdriver in the environment.

  • Buy CL 500 with input LPG system or would you rather retrofit it later on?

Hello dear Mercedes S-&CL-community, I am about to buy a CL’s 500 (W415) and would have had only very specific questions, after I was able to pick and answer most of my own thanks to helpful contributions here. Today I had the opportunity to drive a well-preserved CL500 with 140tkm sample from year 2001. Has full equipment, from inside as well as from outside very well maintained, 2 previous owners, 100% original condition & complete AMG package. He has a relatively new e LPG system installed over which the seller (private) unfortunately does not have any papers etc. (Manufacturer: unfortunately nowhere to recognize) Now I have to consider that any defect to the gas system could be. Because the system looks relatively new and the seller wants to sell the vehicle now. Why invest about 2,000,-€ in the car and then sell it again after a few months??:S Should I rather leave my fingers off or nevertheless access the super offer??? Thanks already in advance!!! • Change from BMW to Mercedes – meaningful?

After my third BMW has a brand new 523i only defects and I am really operated by the BWM service I will change it with all prudence which should legally not be a problem since it already has the fifth high-pressure pump and the third injector defect within eight weeks. The C-Class is too small for me and the existing E-Class unfortunately did not convince me from driving. Therefore I speculate to get an S-Class as an annual car or demonstrator. My questions to the Mitgli 1) What is the reliability of the new S-Class? I drive almost only abroad and defects at night in the province of France like this week with my BMW are really annoying. 2) What is your experience with the Mercedes Service in the event of a breakdown? At BMW I have received mostly one or two classes worse cars so far, which is simply unreasonable with the frequency of repairs and the telephone service was extremely mixed from outrageous to very hard. 3) Where are the actual consumptions for the smallest gasoline and the smallest diesel according to your experience. Thank you in advance

  • Pontiac Catalina – Engine boiled after hose spacer

Moin, picked up my thickness from Dinslaken on the weekend – home journey approx. 600km. In between the Vmax tested – at 140 the speedo needle ran into nowhere and simply stopped there. Think that there are 180-190 in it. It lurks something, but pulls always further… Anyway, then about 50km before home the upper cooler hose, which leads to the thermostat, burst up with a loud bang of the length. Motor immediately shut down and let roll out. One – the box rolls but also el The joy did not last long: despite filling up new cooling water in balance tanks AND coolers, the engine boiled up within a few kilometers. When the storage trays came out clacking, I immediately switched off. Hood on – it hissed and boiled a little in the area of the heads. Looked into the cooler – faded empty. Suddenly, the water from the supply container glaciated. My guess: Thermostat defective – but that during the ride? On the weekend I take it out and put it in boiling water. Maybe the WaPu is also over – but first after the thermostat. Oil was not in the water and vice versa nothing to see. Your thoughts about it? LG – MT

  • 1967 Impala 305cui V8

Meal, I need your advice again. My 67 Chevrolet Impala ran on 7 cylinders. So I turned out all spark plugs. The spark plug from the 7th cylinder had strong Plack (see picture). I type on piston rings or valve guide. There is a similar post however I wanted to know from you whether it makes sense to buy an outdated 305 or to have the engine overtaken. Since I can’t repair and can’t expand the engine, you have to I have everything done and that would be really expensive What do you think about it? I come from Augsburg in Bavaria. Thanks and greetings Markus

  • Game on rear axle

Hello everyone, I have noticed today that my Firebird have the wheels on the rear axle game. It is not a tilting game, but purely axial. Man can move the wheels out and in in a few millimeters. When driving there is nothing to notice, it can also be that this has been the case for a longer time. I have to go to the tuv next month, motts he around there ? That the rear axles have game, I have heard often, just wanted to have your opinion about it. Thanks in advance, Tom

  • Cadillac XT5 – license plate mounting on the tailgate –> drilling into the sheet metal indispensable?

Hello colleagues, I am interested in a Cadillac XT5 as a new car/day registration. I have now studied various new car offers on the Internet. Among them offers with photos of vehicles still without registration plates. I noticed that there seems to be no prefabricated holes/threads in the tailgate, which could be used later for fixing the license plate or a license plate holder.Did I recognize this so correctly? Are there XT5 owners who confirm this o If it’s like I think I’ve seen it, then it’s almost a “no go” for me to get the XT5. Missing holes in a tailgate made of sheet metal mean that you usually have to bore into the sheet metal. Ergo makes me (unnecessarily) a source of corrosion. In the case of new cars, which stand at the dealer, it’s often the case that the holes are already drilled and empty plate holders are mounted. I myself did it years ago with a new car. Car collection was experienced, where I had claimed a wrongly seated plate holder and then where before my eyes was drilled again quickly into the sheet metal, so that the plate holder could be mounted straight. I could not look at it at all so quickly. When I left the car after 2 years, I dared to look under the plate plate: rust base. Sure. The holes were also not protected in any way against corrosion. all. Alternative would still be to attach the plates with Velcro tape. For this there are probably corresponding solutions, which I have seen at Amazon. But this could prove to be a problem, that the Velcro tape does not have full contact with the tailgate at the back, because about where the plate should go, is a small depression in the sheet metal.

  • Data sheet for US Vogue II motorhome Bj 80?

Hello, because I bought a nice old camper in Holland out of a whim and would like to allow this in D. Of course there are obstacles, the Tüv North/South could not help so far. It is a Vogue II camper, Made in the USA, Bj 1980, beautiful original condition Dodge Truck Chassis and Motor (Benziner, 440ci) New it was at that time even registered in Germany, from then on something should be possible, it went then to Holland. The German papers are no longer vo 2 old HU investigations and a car letter I was able to get a copy of the vehicle. The axle test book is there, which is not for gas. The then German dealer no longer exists. Purchase documents are there. The vehicle was normally registered in Holland until 2017. The NL papers are not enough for registration here, key number 0 My neighbour is at the GTÜ and can only do a HU, that would only be possible with a issued letter. He referred me to the Tüv Hannover for individual acceptance, the want a data sheet. The Tüv North and South does not have a data sheet for the vehicle and unfortunately no further help, as I have requested. How do I get the Fhz back approved? Individual acceptance, yes, is there created a data sheet? Who does this? That this money should not be the problem, if it is not equal to 500€. But who helps further ?

  • Help – clutch broken? Clutch pedal very soft, gears do not switch, despite new cylinder sensor

Hello together, I try to describe the problem: during the ride and while switching up I stepped on the clutch and suddenly the clutch pedal feels like buttery soft without resistance, however I noticed that I could not switch gears. So quickly roll out and drive to the side, stopped…. Was towed home… immediately looked what could be: -Hydraulic tank for the clutch was on Max. (so all right) – I know from forum read ” Kupp The old cylinder transducer was very oily, despite being fine for me. Well, start the engine… Kick the clutch pedal… 1 GAng goes in (hurraaa). But hold still on clutch pedal …2-3 sec…Motor chokes… hmmm. – Engine sounds good – Don’t listen to any noises – Put gears on idle again (only when the engine is off, let all gears switch!)… d hold, start MOtor, runs….so 1 gear insert, clutch pedal still hold down…no 2 seconds, the engine chokes again…..out…. So I can’t quite understand this symptom. I suspect that somewhere the sogennate “coupling rear bearing” or something has to do with pressure back plate has to do with it… So far the gears have switched without problems. Gearbox has been completely changed in March. Before I now break up whole car or the Kup I would like to hear your advice, your own opinion, what this can be. Thank you in advance Greeting Kingrodeus
