Hello, I have been a lucky owner of a VW Fox in silver-metallic for a few days. However, the good part has no factory-side radio and only a preparation in it (is an EU import from France). I have now got a Sony CDX-GT200 and a car radio adapter “Autoradio ISO auf VW” (from aiv) from the local Saturn (I don’t need radio). Now I have read the corresponding posts from the forum, but without success: I have the adapter to the cabling g connected by the Fox and to the adapter again the radio. Result: the CD Mechanics worked, but not everything else. Wants to mean that he leads CDs into the shaft and spits out again. More but not more. I have often read that I have to connect a cable of the adapter to the fuse. However, I did not have a plan like that worked. Maybe it would be possible that someone would put me a SChritt for step instruction here. Would be nice, would nämli ch likes to listen to music in my beautiful new car. Another question. What are the openings next to the exterior mirror adjustment? Are the vents or are the tweeters? Thanks already in advance.

different belt drives R170 230K and question about Wapu
Hello, it’s condensing. I’m probably going to bring the SLK to me next week or the next week, which my colleague offered me. There’s something pretty bad in the front of the air compressor (metallic rattles/circuits). I suspect either the magnetic coupling of the air compressor or the complete compressor. It’s going to show up. If I’m already there, then there’s completely new belts and pull-off/spin rollers. The front belt (for Lima and air compressor) is available in different variants (1330 mm and 1873 mm). Looking purely optically, I can hardly imagine that the front belt should also be nearly as long as the rear belt. Can anyone confirm the 1330 mm? I mean, I could of course measure the old belt when I use the car. but wanted to prepare/inform me in the best possible way. Maybe one more question: The car is year 1998 and has (real and understandable) 90,000 km down. Leave water pump or make right with it? Greeting Jürgen

Oil loss and burnt odour (SLK R171; M271; 200 compressor)
Hello together, since a short time we notice on our Mercedes SLK 200 compressor (motor code M271) a (significant) oil loss and strong burnt smell in the interior as soon as the engine was warmed up. By the search for forums we quickly found the valve cover seal as possible error cause. Since the spark plug shafts were already – like the complete VDD – all around oily and the oil was already on the sheet above the exhaust engine, we have these first together with the Unfortunately, the actual problem (oil loss/burnt smell) could not be solved. Already after a short drive the engine pushes the oil still on the side of the mudguard of the exhaust manifold. Where exactly the oil comes from is very difficult to locate. Although the VDD is now completely dry, however, the oil already stands after a short engine life on the sheet and forms an oil puddle. For easier description I have n This was created shortly after cleaning, so that there is not much oil visible – the supposed focus of the leak I circled around you red – by the wind the oil is probably pushed further backwards in the direction of the arrow. In addition, as described at the beginning, the burnt smell in the interior. I thought at first that this would be caused by the oil dripping on the hot exhaust manifold – when the engine is running however to note that the visible smoke rises from below – possibly at the height of the cats. Does someone happen to have an idea or are there experiences of users who had a similar problem? Thank you 🙂

SLK 200 R171: Mirror flasher
Hello together, I have to change both mirror lights, because they pulled water. It would be important for me to replace them with black mirror lights so that they match the color of the car. Has anyone done this already and which would you recommend me to do? Greetings and a nice evening!

Tyre damage due to pothole
I noticed the following damage (see picture) yesterday and I am interested in your opinion. Can something like this come through a pothole? The only thing that happened somehow in the last weeks is a pothole that wasn’t very deep. I didn’t stop and didn’t look any further. But it did a good blow. Otherwise I can’t explain how it happened. It’s winter tires, Contis 810, 225/40, 18”. According to the workshop, the maturity is The fabric is also visible at the top left in the corner. Car is standing for the first time until the new tire comes. vg, Chip

4 db Difference in noise assessment – do I notice this at the wheel?
Hello, I have to order summer tyres and have 3 candidates to choose from. The label says E C 68 C B 72 E B 69 From fuel consumption, the candidate 2 would be my favorite. But he has the highest noise. Do you think the difference is really noticeable in the interior?

Sports exhaust / performance increase of the R8 V10
Hello dear R8 driver, please don’t stone me now I’m pretty NEW here and my son gave me the tip to register here. I’ve been driving very strong cars for years and wanted to know now what you can recommend me for a Sport AGA for my R8. I’ve already read many times about Capristo, ASG and some titanium plants !! Who did you get your performance increase from? I’ll deal with the topic in the next few days. M3 has installed the performance system, which I am not really satisfied with !! And I ordered the RS5 extra with Sport AGA ! Don’t know if you can help me further. Greetings. Dieter

Air conditioning does not start
Hello everyone, since yesterday I am also proud R8 owner and have found the forum about google and already read some posts here. Now to my problem: I have found that the air conditioning unfortunately does not work as it should. If I click on “AC” the red lamp goes on and then immediately out again. The Audi employee said it could be too little cooling fluid in the system. Does anyone have experience with it? Otherwise I would have to have the part next week at Au let the complete check through.

Purchase advice for Audi 80V6
Moin! I’m going to see the car tomorrow. Now I’d like to know if I have to pay attention to some special Dinge? The Hädler says: 170€ Audi 80 V6 (must be B4) 189,000km, 128kw(174PS), EZ 06/92 Tüv: 01/05, white, petrol servo, ALU, elFH, sliding roof Is the price i.o.? I can’t detect any flaws in the pictures, according to telephone statement it’s technically ok and no obvious flaws. Exhaust. The car seems to have no extras, doesn’t it? What was used as standard for this car? Do they all have a DZM, light-width regulation or similar? I have a few questions: Can someone give me the key number or type manufacturer number? How fast is a car like this (V-max) running? Does the car have any special vulnerabilities? I only ask because the Tüv has expired… MFG Christian
