  • Unknown component in car charger

    I own a maintenance charger (named by the manufacturer) with a plug power supply on one side and a plug for the cigarette lighter on the other side. It also works, but unfortunately not as described in the user manual and expected of me. Because it does not shut down when a charging closing tension is reached, but continues to march until I get too much at 16 volts and plug it off. I can’t use it now unattended, like I thought. Since a return is not possible, I now try to find out what is wrong with it and I came across a component inside that I do not (yet) know. On the attached image it is the brown part that looks like a capacitor (but no one can be because the entire charging current flows through) and is labeled “PS” on the circuit board. PS as a designation for an electronic component doesn’t tell me anything. Maybe it’s a kind of thermal protection?

    I have an audio a3 2.0 tdi bj 2003, I have the standard radio audio concert in it. I also have a navigation system. do you know if this is affected when I convert the radio? Then some came in the self-help workshop who wanted to help but that only made it worse. After 40 minutes we called the complete program (emergency doctor, police, fire department). Then thank God a gear spec from home came who really knew each other. He then began to saw the gearbox with the Flex and to break with a hammer. After 4 hours my finger could finally be freed w FAZIT: Finger has been squeezed thanks to “only” and still had enough circulation so that no further damage has been caused. Gear is scrapped …. Have I already looked at a new gear code is CDX I can also install CDV?! I see it positively so I can at least change the clutch at last ….
