Hello, a part of the radar electronics, via which Distronic, dead angle assistant, presafe brake etc. are realized, is apparently in the Mercedes star at the front of the cooler. Now I have found on a different MB model as well as on my R231 that the radar sometimes fails, today e.g. after temporary snowfall at higher speed. Again higher temperatures or manual wiping of the star seem to help against it, i.e. the star must apparently be fairly clean and icy Is the radar really so sensitive that it already paralyzes a bit of dirt on the star? And: Since the radar seems to work sideways and backwards for example for the dead angle or the parking assistant, why is the star at the front apparently so important?

Special winter rims with thicker paint?
Hello, before I buy new rims for my 120d E87LCI EZ 04/11, I tried to clarify to what extent there are special winter rims. I once heard that winter rims have a thicker clear coat protection layer than summer rims. Also the search with Google and here in the forum has provided similar, but just no confirmation but a “I also heard”. A request from Leebmann showed e.g. that this is not true, but they also want to sell other WKR. Background is, that BMW offers in its accessory price lists for the 1 E8x only four aluminium wheels as WKR, in 7Jx17 with 205/50R17 star spokes 256 and V-spokes 141 (the two are also the only 17″er not as 7.5Jx17 for mixed tyres), in 7xJ16 with 205/55R16 only star spokes 140 and V-spokes 229, for a short time also V-spokes 255 and star spokes 151. Leebmann e.g. (but also other, e.g. my local friend) now offer instead of 141 and 140 the Dppel spokes 178 in silver and black as well as V-S I have often read that every aluminium rim is equally suitable for the winter, as long as it is not excessively filigree and therefore difficult to keep clean or has any frills like chron or a polished/glossy twisted rim horn. However, also at RIAL, of which my current winter rims (Davos in 7Jx16) come, some rims have a winter tymbol, some do not. I would currently take the rim V spoke 141, even if 17″ with me. I don’t need to (but I want to, for optical reasons and because I want to exchange for a 123d/130i with a good offer). However, I like the double spoke 178 actually better, it also looks easier to keep clean. The star spoke 178 would of course be even more simple, but I don’t like that at all. I ask this question here, because I received little and hardly any helpful answers in the 1er subforum.

Wheels for Kia Rio 1,2 YB
Hello, a question for a friend to the professionals from the forum: Search rims for the Kia Rio 1.2 YB. The car is on the serialalus (185/65 15 88H with 6Jx15 ET46). There are still steel rims available in 6Jx15 H2 ET49. Furthermore, according to COC, there are still allowed: 6Jx16ET49 and 6.5Jx17 ET49 Do you think that it is allowed to drive the 6Jx15 H2 ET49? Do you need a single acceptance from the TÜV because the ET does not exactly match (only with the larger rims ET49)? Does the H2 still play a decisive R That’s nothing in the COC. Greetings gromi

Bordstone damage?
Moin, I just discovered this in the photo on my little one, on the back left. Mounting or curb or anything else? I can almost 100% exclude the curb as we have no one-way roads and therefore are not parked on the left, on the other hand you can see that the tire seems to have pressed against the rim otherwise the clear varnish would not be discoloured.. What do you think? PS: the tires were only installed 2 weeks ago.

Airmatics…Rumms-Rumms
Let’s ask the Airmatics drivers: If there is a heavy bottom shaft or a road heel, after which the wheels spring out a little faster, both axles pollinate very violently. Of all my previous cars, I have not yet been “awakened” with steel suspension from such a pole. Is that normal? Greetings, two

Vehicle Logic annoying
Evening, second threat to the new vehicle; I get annoyed by the vehicle logic. – Radio not switchable without activated ignition – 12V box in the center console loses the voltage when the ignition is disabled – vehicle keeps buzzing, for example, when I turn on the ignition when cleaning, to listen to music and open the door / leave open – I always need two steps to activate the adaptive cruiser. First turn on, then activate, very annoying when driving – Parkens or shuts down, but doesn’t turn on again. since I (parking, it’s not because of the driving skills) always park at home in advance, I have to activate the always manually – start-stop automatic switches off the motor when parking slowly When talking to the workshop, the mechanic admits that the vehicle logic at Kia is “needing to get used to” (quote). It would help me a lot if one of you could reprogram something of these things.

Self-contained tailgate lighting
Since the LED back flap lighting from KIA is simply too expensive for me, I decided to rebuild it myself. More than 90€, without mounting, for 2 LED projectors, cables and some small stuff is already heavy. I ordered the following parts: 2 pieces Alu COB LED Spot screw type-1, 1.2W, cold white 2 pieces AMP Superseal SET 0.3-0.5qmm, 2-pole 2 pieces junction clamps 0.25-0.5qmm 5m FLRY vehicle line 0.35qmm, red 5m FLRY vehicle line 0.35qmm, orange material costs are close to 20€. The installation instructions are available at MOBIS-Parts.

Coupling difficult
Hello, I bought a used Kia cee’d sw 1.6 GDI (Dream-Team Edition) about 4 weeks ago. The car has an EZ of 05/2013 and has now run about 16,000 km. Unfortunately I find the clutch very difficult. During the test drive (Landstraße) I did not notice that yet, but now in the traffic jam everyday this is very annoying. Especially in the stop-and-go traffic you notice afterwards in the left leg how much power you had to use to keep the clutch pedal down. Then I switch to other cars (e.g. Volkswagen Golf, Hyundai i20 etc.), almost push the clutch pedal through the bottom sheet. Otherwise the clutch (pressure point, grinding, noises) is fine. I was already at the Kia dealer and could first check even with a new cee’d that the clutch is easier there. After having made a test drive with our cee’d, he said that the clutch would be a bit heavier, since otherwise everything would be ok, It could not guarantee that it would be better afterwards. Due to the wear, the clutch would become more difficult over time. The whole thing is all the more annoying, since the cee’d should actually become a family car, which also drives my wife. With the heavy clutch, it is understandably not particularly pleased with the car. Has someone had similar experiences? How could one remedy it? Is it possible to find a solution? ht am Ausrücklager? Many thanks and greetings!

“Vehicle is no longer manufactured
Hello community today I was able to experience a super service from Kia. On 13.07 I ordered a new XCeed 1.4TDGi in Quantum Yellow via a dealer. This should have been delivered in mid-September. Today I got the call from my dealer that the factory in Slovakia or Kia has informed him that the vehicle in this variant (1.4 & Quantum Yellow) is no longer manufactured since 08.07.. On demand why it is still available in the system and nowhere is a share The problem now is that this car is available in Österrich exactly 2x and they already have an interested party or buyer. That’s what Kia was trying to contact if it was somehow possible, answer was about: “Tja pech had, there are enough other colors to choose from. But exactly the Quantum Yellow as I find it makes this car special. The other colors unfortunately do not appeal to me at all. My dealer is now trying to somehow to come to this vehicle in another version. However, did not give me much hope. Feel a little messed up and I’m pretty disappointed about it… Someone can already have such an experience?
