Hello, unfortunately I couldn’t drive my car today. After 14 days of service life it was all about, but while I was heating up the car, the car went out of the snow. It was not possible to start again. The yellow angel called for it analyzed that it was probably a defective alternator. He reactivated it with a hammer, but to do so he advised to visit a workshop as quickly as possible. Since I am new in Darmstadt, the question arises to me, He has given me an address (Elmo Elektronik) which prepares alternators. ( Cost point for installation and upgrading, almost 80 euros). In a seat workshop you pay up to 500 euros for a new machine according to his specification. It is a Seat Ibiza 1.4 (BJ 2007). So far I have only made experiences (change headlight bulb) with a Bosch service in Pfungstadt. On the fact that I myself have a pear I would be very grateful for advice. New or used? Elmo or something else? Greetings ́ Barracuda317

Liability damage at Zafira, but skeptical with the insurance
Hi, I have a fairly high liability damage to our Zafira by an acquaintance. I immediately had a report drawn up and the damage, amounts to 1300 eur incl fairy tale tax, and just 1100 ca with disbursement without repair. So far so good, come back from vacation and lie a check in the mailbox of the insurance of 880 eur with unbureaucratic fast closure. Hmmm. Called at the insurance, and asked how those come on such a sum and who pays the expert?. Me int the insurance that the evaluator will pay immediately, and the balance (difference) of the sum I get paid after examination on each by check. Now there is the Harken, in writing stands with a fast unbureaucratic conclusion sum 880eur, and beyond the final damage to submit ne repeat invoice? . Understand that so, take 880 eur by check and everything is clarified, evaluator is paid by the insurance and the insurance is thus finished with Zah len.? No desire to redeem the check, and that the afterwards say, Ok check cashed in and thus the damage is cleared, and they do not need the difference to pay. What do you mean, when I am just out of vacation again, and still have effect from the celebration. Laugh I hope you can bring in some clarity. Greetings

BLOG of the month of the year
Hi, how would you like to introduce the blog of the month or year instead of or in addition?? I already suggest G-J’s blog for the month 12/2008 and/or for the year 2008 Nobody does so much work, researches like a mole that digs for earthworms, or writes with so much devotion and that not only on the A3 topic but also on topics that others could also be interested in… Gruss Gerd

Job starter looking for first car
When I was almost 26 years old, I was looking for my first own car. I first thought of private leasing; new car purchase never came into question for me. However, the costs for leasing are then too high for me. As much as I would like to have a new car every 3 years, it is not worth it financially. Therefore: used car purchase. Driving profile: – work path 20 km – city – rarely times highway rides about 300-400 km at a time – will drive rather little, absolute km number I can not estimate, since before Never before own car, mostly so 10,000-15,000 kmBudget: – up to 9,000€Car type and equipment: – no mini car, am 1.88m and the Opel Adam the girlfriend is in the long run yet uncomfortable – 5-door – air conditioning – I can do without status, I don’t want to pay a premium only because of the brand. – Mainly reliable! Sure cars are known for especially few workshop visits. – low consumption, as safe as possible –> corresponds to my driving style

New design – problem with high resolutions
Hello! Wanted to ask, who besides me still has problems with the display since the new design. Have a 22″ flatscreen – which is nowadays not really unusual at prices around the 200€ – with a resolution of 1680X1050. With the old design everything fits wonderfully. Now I have on the right a huge light gray bar, which does not disappear even with flexible size adjustment. Maybe you can do something here, if enough people, who also report the whole Greetings, Carlo.

Motor vehicles for long distance up to 20000km
Moin! as you can already see at the forum area, I am currently looking for a car for me. Forward to me: I am a beginner (18), I have had a driver’s license for a year and have so far driven 12000 km with a passat B6 (122 hp). Even if I think this statement is bitterly dangerous, I therefore attribute a touch of driving experience to myself. Since I start a job from summer, which requires me to drive about 800 km (~36000 per year) of motorways per week , I am looking for a suitable car. The previous pass is not suitable for this (1.4 l, petrol) and also not in my possession. The most important point for the car is the driving comfort. I want to be able to drive very unexcitedly constant 150-160 km/h, which is why a car in the compact class was not for me to discuss so far (noise insulation, suspension, seats, etc.) (learns me a better one!). Also because of the driving performance I tend to a diesel i Since I also want to drive the car six years on the level, the loss of value will be striking. Therefore, it is all the more important for me to have a car that reliably manages the mileage without major failures: Speak up to 4 years old, preferring to be even younger. I am absolutely open to manufacturers, although German manufacturers have a conscience due to quality and dealer/know-how density. The budget goes up to 20000. For me, things like Xenon are absolutely essential in terms of equipment, and more points would then be added to the manufacturer’s species fish (Aud A4 only with the inside S-Line, otherwise 4-spoke steering wheel). In the case of amateur research, a few models have come into my eye, but what I can’t do is to compare and assess experiences. My favourites so far: Mercedes C 200 ( W 204) Mercedes CLA 200 (Not less than 20000 for this the comfort and noise level should be unbeatable) Thank you for constructive comments!

Baltic Roadtrip Kombi approx. 500€
Moin moin, I would like to make a road trip through the Baltic with my girlfriend in the summer 4 weeks. Since we are both students we naturally have little money. On the search for a suitable car we have determined for us that it should become a station wagon. We want to spend a maximum of 800 euros. The car should have at least half a year TÜV. I like an old pass very well. Enough space to crash in the car and offers there are moss. Mercedes would be nice but I d otherwise maybe omega or mondeo? Diesel or petrol has not yet been clarified. Look forward to suggestions of all kinds! Jim

Chic diesel for highway 30,000 KM a year
Hello, I drive about 30,000 km (soldier) in the year, 90% of them are motorways. I am generally not such a racer and usually drive so 160 km/h, so that the consumption is kept within limits. Since my old car does quite a lot of problems, I could not really spare something so far. I mostly travel alone, sometimes I take 1-2 people with me, therefore the trunk should not be too tiny. There should fit already 3-4 travel bags in. The main focus is here however na The car should not be undermotorized either, i.e. 150hp. What question has been asked me recently, what kind of car should I take? Young used car with warranty but probably very expensive service etc. or a vehicle without and on good luck? I want to commute safely back and forth, little consumption, reliable and chic. Without having to worry about me constantly. Or is that utopian? Greetings

Suzuki Alto, couple of technical questions
Suzuki Alto, built in 2002, 1 liter. Since the Astra F is unfortunately mega scrap and my wife wants a small city car we have added an Alto. Ok it is of course no comparison to an Opel in the year of construction, in processing equipment etc. But it is about the reliability. Now I don’t know about these engines and manufacturers at all and a logbook is not to be found. When is the tooth change interval and with wasse pump like with Opel or without? r is there no note somewhere in the engine room, he has only 77tkm on the clock but he already has some years on the hump can already think that you should do the time:-) Also I do not know which oil comes in, it is so illegible written probably but the old known 10w40 because it is really not a state-of-the-art engine as with other manufacturers. I also noticed that as soon as you put the key in the ignitionshcloss it somehow beeps, you switch the Ignition on it is gone. If you turn it off again, it is there again until you pull the key off, I was very surprised, because I don’t know where this comes from 🙂 Greeting
