  • Volvo SC-805 SC-802 with AUX input

Yesterday I provided my SC-805 with an AUX input. The soldering of the cable is quite simple. In order to activate the input, you have to connect an MP3 player to the jack cable and start the music. Then press the tape button. As soon as the radio wants to turn the cassette (it is not inserted), press the tape button again. Repeat that until the music starts. The input is activated until you press the eject button or take the radio off the current. If the input is activated, simply plug in the player and press the tape. Playing cassettes is still possible. I built the AUX input into the storage compartment with a small 3.5 jack jack. Also goes with the SC-802. I have the Yatour in with iPod support, but in order to play music over the AUX input, the iPod in the glove compartment must always be deducted because the priority has to be on AUX. I will now add a second jack to the back so that I can play the music with the user.

  • Air/fuel problem with S70 I

Hello dear Volvolisten, I’ve been having one or more problems with my mother’s elk for a long time and hope that I get competent help here, because I’m beginning to have no confidence in workshops. In advance, she has a S70 I BJ 99 with 2.4l and 103KW/140PS with manual transmission. Her biggest problem is that the car is jerking in the idle despite a re-newed throttle flap and checked pressure hoses. When it’s cold, the car doesn’t just make it in hot driving condition and not always. I thought that would come from the climate, wrong indication. That does when it’s funny. The speed is known to go down always when you drive a traffic light, for example, then regulates again. In addition, comes the sporadic performance loss. What’s totally on the nuts is the constant jerking when you’re standing at the traffic light or something like that? For the last time, I’ve got to make a little bit of pressure again everything is normal, but only for a short while. I’ve read a lot of articles about this, which is about 13 years old, but I’s not always been able to talk about getting old.

  • Heating is only lukewarm / Does the 850er have a heating control valve?

Good morning together, I have here a ’96er 850 combi with B5202S without climate. My problem with this is that the heating is only lukewarm. Temperature indicator in the instrument cluster behaves normally, thermostat I changed yesterday evening nevertheless times (is not sooo expensive) – as to expect unfortunately without success. After a test drive I once scanned the lantern, especially it occurred to me that the hoses in the direction of the passenger cell were very different warm. If I was not mistaken the lower was really hot and the upper one was a little more than handwarm. Therefore the detail question 1: Did the 850er have a heating control valve? I read in another post that it should not be so, so the heat exchanger should always be hot. But can be that the contribution for a 850er with climate was now almost 10 years. If he has one thing that would be a hot candidate why nothing goes through. Detail question 2: If he has no thanks, what could lead to the fact that there is no reasonable flow? We have now taken the 850er with climate. If he has one thing to say about heat water and then I would have a bit to change.

  • Problems (before) Engine change

Good morning, everyone! I would like to change the engine (it’s a B5202S from 1996) in a 850er, because it brings inexplicably bad performance, needs a lot of oil (which I have already cleaned and changed everything ) and anyway the clutch is due. I have a very good used B5202S from a V70 I from 1998 and stand now before the problem that there is a difference to which I have not paid attention (see picture). The engine from the V70 I makes this with the secondary air so obviously somehow different. Can one of you give me some advice what I can do? Would really be a pity if it would fail to do so… Where does the connection in the valve cover actually go?! I always thought secondary air is blown into the vault so that the cat shaft becomes warm faster… First of all, it seemed to me closest to changing the valve cover. However, somehow the storage shells of the cam shaft are “drin” in the lid and they should probably have “accustomed” to the respective cam shaft after 200 – 300 thousand kilometers…

  • Error reading in Leipzig (OBD II)

Hello, is there someone in the Leipzig area who can read or delete my fault memory? OBD II in the center console. Unfortunately I can no longer connect with BrickDiag. A few years ago, I still did. I would drive a few km for it. Best regards

  • V60 engine gets hot, heating gets cold

Hello, thank you so much for your help in advance! I drive a V60 – 2016 model, Bifuel with the B4204T11 engine. A few weeks ago I noticed that the heating on the highway is not getting really warm anymore, with longer distances and approx. 3000 rpm even completely fail. In the very low Drezhal area it becomes warm again. In addition, that the engine under full load became hot, coolant is boiled out and I was towed to the friendly. This could not find anything, thermostat could be controlled normally and also errors were apparently no stored, even during a test drive it was not too hot. The heating problem was also not recognized. When I picked up the car and tested on the highway it was immediately hot again, so again to the friendly…. Now, in another test drive the engine was probably flat if the engine was too hot. Now they want to replace the engine, because they suspect a crack in the engine block. I can’t quite do that yet why the heating did not heat. CO could not be proven in the coolant either. What do you think?

  • RTI-Navi in Volvo S80 Last Update 2016 ?!

After a long, patient search from Flensburg to the south of Germany, I found myself in 2018: A top-kept Volvo S80 V8 AWD, Summum, Geartronic, Bj.: 2006 with a real 103,000 km I was able to take over from a Volvo dealer in Crailsheim. Truly no saving box – but for that much joy on the cultivated wolf in sheep’s fur. All spare parts can be obtained if necessary still at moderate prices from my Volvo dealer. Only with the navigation system RTI it becomes increasingly tight: the ultimate last software update was given according to Volvo 2016 as DVD. This is currently installed – but of course now already outdated. My question to the community: Who has already dealt with this problem and can possibly help further? Thank you in advance for feedback and my best wishes for the upcoming change of the year from the Sweden-Express from Bremen

  • Ets lamp, heavy throttle valve

Hello together, if I press my accelerator pedal beyond a certain point the ets lamp goes on and it goes into emergency mode. I have removed the throttle valve (electronic magneti marelli) and it makes noises from an opening of a few centimeters and has resistance. I think it will lie on the position sensor, right? I would like to exchange it. Does anyone know a good address where to order such a one? At Skandix there is apparently no matching one. Also via Google and at Ebay I find no suitable within the EU. Only in England which are offered for 130€ incl. import tax.

  • Purchase advice C70 Coupe

Hello Together, would like to have some expert knowledge and advice about the C70 Coupe from you. Think of me instead of my boring (but good) Golf IV to buy a slightly more exciting car. Is there anyone of the comparisons to both vehicles? Seat comfort, adjustability steering wheel and feel-good factor. (Will you walk to the Volvo dealer on the next occasion, of course) I don’t need a fast car, more important to me is reliability, economy and comfort (want to stay with automatic) – which is the most recommended engine (petrol)? How do you judge the durability of the automatic and how is the fuel consumption? (Has someone values for constant 130km/h, 100km/h and 60km/h according to the onboard computer) What are the smallest possible tire sizes on the C70 Coupe? (My bags are (half) full but with preference to 🙂 ) Are there serious children’s disease, or can you buy any year of year? (Have already read that E-gas is even more negative) Would you like to read out error memory – does this for the golf itself? OBD or the forum does not exist?
